Upon witnessing this scene, Xiao Yue's eyes instantly filled with tears.
Ye Mo was dead? The man she loved, deceased?
"Ahhhhh!"
Xiao Yue let out a scream of pure agony, and an immense surge of power erupted from her body like a catastrophic flood and a rampaging tsunami. This unleashed force shattered the confinement that held Xiao Yue and the others captive.
"It appears her body conceals a potent force; how intriguing," observed the Fourth Prince Chi Mei. He was captivated by Xiao Yue's sudden burst of vigor but chose not to intervene immediately. Instead, with his hands clasped behind his back, a look of amusement played across his spectral visage.
Gripping the Six Daos Reincarnation Sword and the Six Paths Scepter, Xiao Yue unleashed a furious assault upon Chi Mei. The power of the Six Paths Reincarnation continuously erupted, as if attempting to shatter the current reality and forge a new one.
"No matter how formidable your aura, it is merely the peak of Wheel of Reincarnation. Even by borrowing external power, you cannot contend with my presence. I hail from the Luosha Evil Ghost Clan, capable of communing with forces from other planes," Chi Mei declared. A ferocious and malevolent aura emanated from his body, and a spectral shadow materialized behind him. Yet, no one, not even Feng Chu and the others, could perceive him making a move.
Crack!
Xiao Yue, whose spirit had been momentarily ignited, was instantly subdued, rendered utterly immobile.
The surge of spirit Xiao Yue experienced was, in truth, borrowed power from Patriarch Six Dao. However, no matter the extent of her borrowed strength, within the Vanquishing Martial Realm, she could only ascend to the Wheel of Reincarnation Peak. Both Chi Mei and his brother, Wangliang, could effortlessly dispatch any ordinary Demi-Honored Fighter.
"Let's go!"
Without a moment's hesitation, Feng Chu charged fiercely towards Chi Mei.
"A pack of ants!"
Chi Mei scoffed, sweeping his hand through the air. Another ghostly silhouette appeared behind him, and a powerful black energy bolt streaked forth, sending Mu Wanqing, Feng Chu, and four others hurtling through the air. They crashed to the ground, spewing blood.
"Haha, you ants of the Spirit Martial Camp, the weak have no recourse against the strong. Not only you, but even your camp's Chief Commander, are mere ants before us brothers," Chi Mei sneered, casually tossing Xiao Yue aside.
"Ye Mo!"
Scrambling on the ground, Xiao Yue fixated on Ye Mo's motionless form and desperately crawled forward.
"How is this possible?"
Wangliang stared at Ye Mo, disbelief etched across his face.
"Wangliang, what is happening?" Chi Mei inquired.
"I crushed this fellow's heart; by all accounts, he should be dead. However, the treasure within this domain has yet to manifest, indicating he is still alive," Wangliang explained.
"What?"
Chi Mei, too, was astonished.
A warrior not yet in the Divine Venerate Realm, whose heart had been crushed, yet still survived – this was utterly inconceivable.
Hearing Wangliang's words, Xiao Yue and the others felt a flicker of hope ignite within them.
"If this guy's life is truly this tenacious, I shall utterly obliterate his body. Let's see how he survives then," Wangliang declared coldly.
"No!"
Xiao Yue reached out, shouting vehemently, "Wangliang, I will definitely kill you! I will tear you to pieces and ensure the Dead Soul Royal Family never rises again!"
"A pity you won't have the chance!"
Wangliang retorted, bringing his massive palm down upon Ye Mo's body. But this time, his hand passed straight through Ye Mo's form.
"What is going on?"
Wangliang exclaimed in confusion. As his senses clarified, he bizarrely discovered that Ye Mo, along with Xiao Yue and the others, had vanished.
A mysterious voice echoed in his mind: "Your fate will be collected by my son. Remember to cultivate diligently during this period, or your demise will be swift and certain."
"Who?"
Wangliang jolted, yet he could not detect any presence nearby.
"Wangliang, what transpired?"
The Fourth Prince Chi Mei was equally bewildered. The inexplicable disappearance of several living individuals before their very eyes was undeniably the strangest event they had ever encountered.
"I am unsure," Wangliang replied, frowning. He recalled the disembodied voice, finding the notion of his imminent death due to insufficient cultivation preposterous. Even if Hun Wuji were to appear, extracting them both would come at a severe cost.
"I've heard of a technique called Qiankun Moving, capable of teleporting individuals instantly. However, with such means, why didn't the opponent reveal themselves?" Chi Mei speculated.
"No matter how powerful the opponent, just a Half Honor? What can a mere Half Honor accomplish? Perhaps defeat one of us, but who can overcome the combined might of us brothers within this Vanquishing Martial Realm?" Wangliang stated disdainfully.
"You speak the truth. Regardless, even if Ye Mo isn't dead, he's close enough. Let us proceed with eliminating the leader of the Spirit Martial Camp."
.. ..
"Where are we?"
Feng Chu and the others felt their vision swim, abruptly finding themselves in a cave. A man stood at its entrance, his hands clasped behind his back. Beside them lay Ye Mo; a gaping wound remained visible on his left chest.
"Ye Mo?"
Xiao Yue’s senses returned with a jolt. She immediately crawled to Ye Mo’s side, weeping without restraint.
Feng Chu rose and offered a bow to the individual standing at the cave’s entrance. "Thank you, senior, for preserving our lives."
"You are Ye Mo’s companions. Expressing gratitude is unnecessary. However, Ye Mo's current condition is exceedingly severe. While his life has been salvaged, a full recovery still requires a bit more."
The enigmatic man stated.
"What more is required?"
Upon hearing Ye Mo had survived, Xiao Yue’s senses sharpened. "Senior, you must save him! I will comply with any request you have, even if it means my demise right now, I am prepared."
"Death is not the most dreadful outcome. I require you to undertake something far more terrifying than death."
The mysterious figure declared.
"Let me elaborate on Ye Mo's predicament. When Ye Mo’s heart was impaled by the Third Prince of the Dead Soul Royal Family, it appears the assailant employed an additional method, shattering Ye Mo’s spirit as well. Fortunately, he had the Break-Extreme Pill within his possession. The medicine activated, preserving his last flicker of a heart pulse. Ye Mo also perceived the Space-time Gate before fading, but alas, all of this transpired too late."
The mysterious man elucidated.
The Break-Extreme Pill. All five individuals present had heard of this legendary item, known for its power of destruction and subsequent rebirth.
"Then, what must I do?"
Xiao Yue inquired with palpable urgency.
"A heart. Ye Mo needs a heart. Should he receive a healthy one, he shall revive instantly. As a Perfect Soul Affinity Achiever, his awakening will herald the arrival of a Demi-Honored Fighter."
The mysterious man continued.
"My heart can be given to Ye Mo."
Xiao Yue and Mu Wanqing uttered in unison, a spontaneous reaction driven by instinct, without a moment's hesitation.
"Your hearts would prove insufficient. The Blood Prison Battlefield harbors a bottomless abyss, wherein a peerless fierce creature lies sealed. Only its heart could possibly suffice for Ye Mo’s needs. This endeavor is steeped in immense peril."
The mysterious man remarked casually, "Therefore, only one of you may undertake this mission. You must decide amongst yourselves."
