Caught in a compromising situation with Han Zhuoli, Lu Man is confronted by a furious He Zhengbai. When He Zhengbai accuses her of cheating, Lu Man reveals that her sister Lu Qi is involved with him, presenting damning evidence he left behind. Lu Man reflects on past betrayals and her naivety.

Lu Man let out a cold smile. Lu Qi’s mother, Xia Qingyang, was the mistress who had shattered her family, and in the same manner, Lu Qi was now the third party involved in Lu Man's and He Zhengbai's relationship, snatching He Zhengbai away.

Yet, Lu Man no longer concerned herself with it. She felt no pity for herself having had such a scoundrel leave her.

Now, all she desired was for them to face retribution for their schemes and the suffering they inflicted upon her in her past life!

The more Lu Man spoke, the more He Zhengbai’s guilt intensified. She gazed at him with a sardonic expression, “Ever since the two of you got together, I had considered us already broken up. Yet you possess the audacity to stand here and claim I betrayed you.

“Stop making such baseless accusations!” Lu Qi implored anxiously.

If they had been alone, she wouldn't have minded using He Zhengbai to provoke Lu Man.

However, now that Lu Man was indifferent to He Zhengbai, Lu Qi was determined not to be labeled a homewrecker.

“Even though you’re the one attempting to climb the social ladder and were caught red-handed, you’re twisting the narrative to defame us!”

“Defame?” Lu Man suddenly released Han Zhuoli’s arm; this time, even Han Zhuoli did not restrain her and allowed her to move freely.

Clutching her towel to prevent it from slipping, she advanced to stand directly before Lu Qi.

Then, she abruptly extended her arm, seizing the necklace Lu Qi wore and pulling it off.

Lu Man’s action was so unforeseen that Lu Qi had not anticipated such a move and was caught completely off guard.

Lu Man pinched the pendant of the necklace and presented it for them to see, “He Zhengbai was particularly attentive to have these words engraved in Chinese.”

On the reverse side of the pendant, conspicuously carved, were the names of He Zhengbai and Lu Qi, enclosed within a heart shape.

With the truth laid bare, any excuses He Zhengbai and Lu Qi might concoct became futile.

It wasn’t as if everyone present was foolish.

Could it be that the couple had the pendant engraved merely for amusement?

Don’t be absurd!

“This is a private matter, please resolve it amongst yourselves,” a police officer interjected, turning to address Lu Man. “Miss Lu, have you been present here all along?”

“Yes.” Lu Man turned back to Han Zhuoli’s side, wrapping her arms around his waist. Strangely, Han Zhuoli did not reveal the truth of the situation.

He merely lowered his head to look at her, a faint smile playing on his lips.

Lu Man offered Han Zhuoli a grateful smile. Whatever his reasons for withholding the truth, he had done her a significant favor.

“Did something occur?” Lu Man inquired.

She had not been present moments earlier, making her question entirely reasonable.

The police officer explained, “The guest in the adjacent room suffered severe harm and has been transported to the hospital for urgent treatment.”

“I have no knowledge of what transpired. I have been here the entire time. If you doubt my word, you are welcome to review the surveillance footage,” Lu Man stated boldly, aware that the surveillance cameras in this particular hotel section were non-operational.

In her past life, after she had fallen into trouble, Lu Qi had immediately sought out He Zhengbai. Coincidentally, this hotel belonged to the He family.

Consequently, if He Zhengbai wished for anything, a mere request would suffice.

He had deliberately delayed calling the police until after he had assisted Lu Qi in erasing any evidence.

In her previous existence, the film director miraculously survived despite the prolonged delay in receiving treatment orchestrated by them.

Presently, Lu Man was taking a calculated risk, hoping that events would unfold precisely as they had in her past life.

Noticing the peculiar expressions on the policemen’s faces, she realized her gamble had paid off.

“However, what puzzles me is, if the incident happened next door, why did you come looking for me?” Lu Man feigned confusion.

Before the police officers could respond, Lu Qi interjected, “Didn’t you tell me to find the director?”

Lu Man offered a derisive smile; it was clear Lu Qi had resolved to make Lu Man her scapegoat.

Lu Qi had already usurped her father and her boyfriend, yet that was still not enough for her. She was determined to inflict further harm upon Lu Man.

“I fail to comprehend your meaning. I am merely an assistant. What dealings would I possibly have with a director? Are you implying I was seeking a role for myself?” Lu Man inquired, raising the mobile phone in her hand.
