The Long-awaited Mr Han Chapter 3022 Not Knowing Where to Go

~3 minute read · 627 words

“I won’t be making the round trip every day,” Han Zhuoling reassured her. “We’ll simply act as if we’re living here.”

Seeing Shi Xiaoya’s hesitant expression, he elaborated, “I’ve calculated it. The city experiences significant traffic congestion. Driving during peak hours would mean about an hour stuck in traffic. Once past that jam, the drive here would only take another twenty minutes.”

“That’s still over an hour,” Shi Xiaoya countered.

It would be perfectly acceptable for Han Zhuoling to commute after work. There would be no urgency then.

However, Shi Xiaoya envisioned him having to depart extremely early each morning.

The distance from this location to his company necessitated an exceptionally early start.

With late-night arrivals and early departures, Han Zhuoling would be severely sleep-deprived.

A day or two might be manageable, but this routine every single day would be exhausting.

Insufficient sleep and a deteriorating mental state would ultimately prove unbearable.

“I don’t have to leave that early,” Han Zhuoling stated. “Only if something pressing arises in the morning will I depart early. Otherwise, I won’t.”

Shi Xiaoya’s eyes widened in surprise at his words. She found it hard to believe he would say such a thing.

Han Zhuoling had always maintained that individuals in his position, having achieved so much, should dedicate themselves to work even more diligently than others.

Yet now, he seemed disinclined to even go to work?

Han Zhuoling chuckled. “It’s only for this period. I won’t maintain this indefinitely, so I believe it’s acceptable.”

He continued, “You have no idea, but when I returned yesterday, something felt amiss. It wasn’t the same as before. Previously, when you traveled for work, it was only for a few days. But this time, you’ll be gone for two months.

“The thought of you being away for such an extended duration made it feel as though half my life had been hollowed out.

“Today, even in the office, I lacked the focus for work. All I desired was to finish and go home. But upon arriving home, you weren’t there. Consequently, I felt listless,” Han Zhuoling elaborated with a touch of pathos.

“This is what I concluded: If you aren’t home, what’s the purpose of my return? There would be no one awaiting me there.” Han Zhuoling lifted Shi Xiaoya and settled her onto his lap. “Without your presence, that place ceases to be home; it’s merely a structure.

“With you present, even a hotel room would feel like home,” Han Zhuoling whispered. “My location is irrelevant as long as you are there.”

He went on, “When I left the office tonight, I felt adrift. I was unsure of where to go.

“Since you weren’t home, I didn’t wish to return, yet I had no other destination in mind,” Han Zhuoling sighed.

At this point, Lin Liye and Han Dongping had not officially reconciled.

Han Dongping’s apology was accompanied by a commendable attitude, and he ceased interfering in his children’s affairs.

Despite Lin Liye’s consistently harsh demeanor towards him, Han Dongping displayed no resentment.

While Lin Liye maintained a cold and distant facade, Han Dongping neither attempted to appease her nor pretended to overlook her icy reception; he simply persisted in being present around her.

Lin Liye herself harbored no real intention of permanently separating from Han Dongping.

Han Dongping’s demeanor had undergone a positive transformation, and the relationships between Han Zhuoli and Han Zhuoling had achieved a state of stability.

Furthermore, Han Dongping had ceased his involvement in his children’s romantic lives.

Frankly, even if he still desired to intervene, he would be powerless to do so.
