The Legendary Mechanic Chapter 1457 - Plan
Previously on The Legendary Mechanic...
In a heavily guarded military zone of the Central Galaxy, the site where the Sanctum channel had previously appeared was now completely locked down. Space fortresses packed densely and massive fleets were stationed throughout the area, with security measures at maximum.
All of a sudden, a ray of light flashed in the void and gradually widened, forming three Sanctum channels connecting to the white realm. They drifted silently in the cosmos, akin to three small white holes. Within the radiant portals, three dark silhouettes steadily enlarged. These were the vessels dispatched by the three Universal Civilizations to probe the Sanctum.
Soldiers promptly launched from the nearby base and escorted the three ships back to the fortress. The crew members disembarked, supported by their fellow comrades. Most appeared bewildered, as if lost in a daze, their gazes vacant and responses sluggish.
Only Clotti, Oulou, and the Arcane Church's Beyond Grade A seemed somewhat more composed. Yet, their expressions still bore traces of astonishment, and their legs shook uncontrollably.
Just then, a subtle glow flickered, summoning the remote projections of the three Universal Civilizations’ leaders. They swiftly encircled the group, faces etched with anxiety.
“How’s the situation? Did you obtain the Sanctum’s information?”
Clotti’s gaze sharpened, pausing for several seconds before regaining focus. He nodded gravely.
“The Sanctum’s interior matches Black Star’s description perfectly. We’ve viewed the records on the Sanctum’s message board. The Universe Alterations’ truth is indeed recorded there. Moreover, we gathered some details on previous Alterations from the Sanctum—scarce, but solid proof nonetheless.”
Upon hearing this, the three Universal Civilizations’ leaders drew deep breaths. Though aware Han Xiao hadn’t deceived them, the revelation still stunned them.
At that instant, Louis dropped his voice and asked, “Did the Sanctum Revival test succeed?”
“It did.” Clotti lifted his palm, displaying the Sanctum Revival mark on its back—identical to the documented version.
The trio finally eased up, exchanging silent nods. To verify the Sanctum’s legitimacy and avoid another Black Star deception, the three Universal Civilizations had supplied mediums from deceased direct descendants to Clotti’s team for testing Sanctum Revival. Failure would expose it as a ruse, possibly a fabricated dimension by Black Star. Success would confirm its authenticity.
Previously, when requesting Black Star’s aid to revive direct Beyond Grade As, the leaders had claimed to provide all deceased direct descendant mediums, but secretly withheld some, pretending they lacked them—to hedge against mishaps. Even after Black Star validated Sanctum Revival’s reliability, they kept this hidden, intending it for future Sanctum tests—and now it proved invaluable.
Ta ta ta...
Footsteps echoed from the distance. Han Xiao, having teleported in, strode forward boldly. Without a word, he seized Clotti’s hand and hoisted it before his face.
“What are you doing?” Clotti jolted in surprise, instinctively trying to pull away, but Han Xiao’s grip held firm.
The three Universal Civilizations’ leaders assumed Han Xiao fixated on the Sanctum Revival mark, their pulses quickening. They feared Black Star might resent their private trial.
But they misjudged. At this juncture, Han Xiao ignored such trifles. He displayed his own Sanctum authority mark, prompting feedback from Clotti’s palm that revealed his counterpart.
One mark was intricate and ornate, the other basic and unadorned—the gap between max-level and level-one authority.
Satisfied, Han Xiao released Clotti and remarked,
“So, how was it? What’s it like entering and leaving the Sanctum? Feels like a dream, right?”
Clotti massaged his sore wrist, hesitating briefly before replying, “Yeah, it’s like sleepwalking. I could control my body, but my senses felt muffled, layered. Not the free movement of normal times. More like puppeteering from a third-person view. Brain and body disconnected...” “First visit, so that sensation’s expected... though I’ve never felt low-authority limits myself.” Han Xiao clapped his shoulder. “Your authority’s too basic, and you lingered too long. We’ve waited ages in the main universe.”
Clotti and companions checked the timeline, astounded. Years had passed since departure, yet they’d spent mere hours inside the Sanctum.
“You’ll adapt. Higher authority aligns Sanctum time flow with the main universe gradually.”
Han Xiao explained offhandedly, then faced the three Universal Civilizations’ leaders.
“Well? Got what you sought? Believe me now?”
Marbruce affirmed with a nod. “We’ve verified the Universe Iterations’ truth. Matches your account exactly.”
The Pope added, “Our low authority blocked full access to the Sanctum message board. Thus, we couldn’t probe the Final Three Universal Civilizations or Dark Side Universe secrets you mentioned...”
Han Xiao’s eyes widened in amusement.
“What, expect me to ferry you in till you unlock everything?”
“If you’d oblige, we’d be grateful...”
“Forget it.”
“Ahem, we get your reluctance...”
Embarrassment colored their faces.
“True, I could aid your ancestral feats, but don’t overreach.” Han Xiao folded his arms, scowling. “I’ve done plenty for galactic society, shown ample trust. Yet skepticism persists—like with the World Tree, and now. Frankly, if doubts linger, end this alliance.”
“No, no, no. Just caution for the greater good. No suspicions... Let’s discuss in the office.”
They hurriedly clustered around Han Xiao, clarifying as they guided him to the secure meeting room.
Door sealed, no eavesdroppers, Marbruce cleared his throat.
“Black Star, we trust the Dark Side Universe intel. With Sanctum data confirmed genuine, let’s resume our prior talk. How will you shatter the Dark Side Universe seal and return us to the true universe?”
“Two methods.” Han Xiao held up two fingers.
“Which?” They leaned in eagerly.
Han Xiao collected his thoughts, then elaborated deliberately.
“First, mimic the prior two dark sides’ Universal Civilizations: deploy the Information Form Materialization device standardly. The World Tree’s mutated, altered fundamentally, but retains its core Information Form Materialization function. I’ve extracted it.”
“And second?”
“Still requires the Information Form Materialization device, paired with my Virtual Creation talent.” Exchanges of puzzled glances followed.
Marbruce queried, perplexed, “Both use Information Form Materialization devices? What distinguishes them?”
“My role. First plan’s success hinges on the interference bridge fulfilling conversion prerequisites—risking failure despite the path. Second leverages my powers. Principle? Skip it; incomprehensible anyway. It boosts conversion odds... Sole issue: prior dark iterations never tested this approach, introducing variables.”
Han Xiao shook his head.
First scheme treated him as mere tool, a ‘medium’ triggering the device. Second positioned him as operator... Leadership differed.
Post-World Tree fusion, Han Xiao’s in-depth analysis evolved his (Virtual Creation) skill, shedding ‘Pseudo.’ Its effects transformed, mirroring the device’s core, enabling synergy.
They conferred quietly, Han Xiao patient.
Minutes later, Marbruce inquired, “Success odds for each?”
Han Xiao shrugged. “First: fifty percent. Second: seventy, risks undefined.”
Louis mused, “Try first? Fall back to second if needed.”
“Feasible, but failure might wreck the stable interference bridge. No do-overs then. I recommend one-shot success.” Han Xiao shrugged.
“...We’ll deliberate.”
“Take your time, but prep aligns for both. Rally galactic society meanwhile.” “Agreed.”
Nods given, projections vanished. They rushed to convene.
Alone in the room, Han Xiao eyed their fade-out, lips curling.
He concealed a third option: World Tree devours the universe, ‘compressing’ it into a self-contained ‘information assembly’ within him—easing materialization. He pegged its odds above eighty percent.
Yet, basic reasoning showed the three Universal Civilizations rejecting it, sparking motive suspicions. Plus, execution dragged eternally—World Tree’s full-universe feast spanning eons in travel alone. Unappealing, so Han Xiao withheld it.
“Hope they pick the second... Though even if not, I’ll proceed anyway.”
Han Xiao tsked.
Offering choices fostered their ‘involvement’ sense... When galactic society geared for the shift, he’d steer regardless.
