The Legend of Futian Chapter 2965 - A Single Spear Strike
Previously on The Legend of Futian...
Divine beams of light descended throughout the vast expanse as the various gods of the Heaven Court occupied the sky. Standing in their center was Ji Wudao, recognized as the world's most formidable cultivator.
The onlookers were stunned by the sight before them. Despite being the supreme power in existence, Ji Wudao’s Path of the Emperor had been shattered by a single finger.
Ye Futian had returned!
Having previously vanquished the Human Ancestor, he was the Heavenly Emperor who had merged with the Heavenly Path. His return to the battlefield signaled total invincibility.
Who could now dictate the fate of the powerful?
A heavy silence fell over the Heaven Court. The cultivators who had turned their backs on Ye Futian to serve Ji Wudao looked deathly pale. No one had anticipated that Ye Futian could return, much less with such overwhelming strength. Ji Wudao had boasted of consuming the Human Ancestor and intended to swallow the Heavenly Path with a mere thought.
The current Ji Wudao feared nothing, not even a resurrected Human Ancestor.
Yet, he had been unable to withstand a solitary finger pointed by Ye Futian.
Within the Heaven Court, Ji Wudao suddenly erupted into a tragic laugh. He peered down at Ye Futian, who stood amidst the falling snow in the city of Qingzhou. By simply standing there, Ye Futian had severed his Path of the Emperor. It was a cruel mockery.
“Back in the era of the Six Great Emperors, I kept a low profile and waited for my moment despite my unmatched talent. Later, as a Great Emperor, I intended to rebuild the Heaven Realm to fulfill her dream and seek vengeance. But you were still there. She chose you,” Ji Wudao muttered, as if speaking to himself. He went on, “I respected your sacrifice when you became the Heavenly Path during that great battle. Because of that respect, I spared the others. I was certain the future belonged to me. I feared neither the Human Ancestor’s resurrection nor the descent of the Immortal Sovereign and the various gods. I believed I would be the world's savior.”
He finished with a self-deprecating tone, “But it seems the world never truly needed me.”
Ji Wudao was filled with bitterness. She had chosen Ye Futian over him, and the world had done the same.
“Since the world produced you, why did it bother creating me?” Ji Wudao asked with a pained smile. “Why?”
......
Ji Wudao then proclaimed, “If the world has no place for me, I shall leave it without regret.” He sighed toward the heavens before facing Ye Futian. “I choose to fall on the battlefield. I, Ji Wudao, require no pity from you.”
Having said this, he dove downward, tearing through space and time to strike at Ye Futian.
Ye Futian looked up at the approaching Ji Wudao, sensing his opponent's resolve to die.
“Very well.” Ye Futian pointed toward the sky once more. This time, the force pierced through Ji Wudao’s form. In an instant, his body became translucent and faded into nothingness.
Many were moved as they watched Ji Wudao perish. His journey from obscurity to becoming a two-time Heavenly Emperor was legendary. But as he had realized, there was no room for him while Ye Futian lived.
Had Ye Futian not existed, Ji Wudao might have been the greatest hero of his time.
Sadly, there were no "ifs" in reality.
The world's strongest cultivator had enjoyed a fleeting moment of glory before vanishing forever.
“We beg the Heavenly Emperor for mercy,” the cultivators of the Heaven Realm cried out, bowing low. Even Great Skylords Black and White Almighty knelt to plead for their lives. Ye Futian could have wiped them out with a single thought.
With Ji Wudao gone, the rest were utterly defenseless against him.
“You all acted under Ji Wudao’s orders. Following him after my disappearance was understandable. However, the Heaven Realm waged war on other Realms, and your hands are stained with the blood of their cultivators—people who were once my followers.” Ye Futian looked upon them and delivered his judgment: “Furthermore, many of you reached your Path through my tutelage. Therefore, I shall sever your Path. From this day on, you shall be commoners.”
As he spoke, shafts of light struck down from the heavens, hitting the cultivators of the Heaven Court. In retribution for their deeds, their Paths were stripped away.
Their complexions turned white with shock.
“I do not regret what I did,” the Pagoda King, one of the Four Heavenly Kings, said while facing Ye Futian. “If I hadn't submitted to Ji Wudao back then, he would have killed me. Why were we not allowed a choice that led to life?”
Ye Futian gave him a cold look. Then, closing his eyes, he manifested his will. Figures began to appear within the Heaven Court one by one, including the String Emperor and the Book Deity. Even those killed by Ji Wudao or sacrificed in the previous wars were brought back to life.
“Heavenly Emperor,” they greeted him with deep bows. Their hearts were filled with overwhelming joy and wonder. The String Emperor and Book Deity smiled, realizing the Young Master had finally reached the absolute peak of power.
Ye Futian’s abilities now surpassed the Human Ancestor; he could resurrect anyone at will, even a Great Emperor.
“You are indeed free to choose your path, but you must also be prepared to endure the consequences,” Ye Futian stated. The Pagoda King and his peers felt their hearts sink, consumed by regret.
Those who had died for the right cause were now standing before them, alive.
Ye Futian continued, “During the Battle of the Heavenly Path, I urged everyone to fight with the resolve to save the world and protect future generations. I promised that victory would grant you the responsibility of maintaining world order. Today, I fulfill that oath by granting you the Path of the Emperors.”
Divine light flooded down, enveloping the loyal cultivators and bestowing them with the Fate of the Emperor.
The crowd watched in awe as auspicious omens filled the sky and divine light rained down. The cultivators meditated within the glow as Ye Futian granted them their status.
Those who had fought in the war were now crowned as Tianshens by Ye Futian’s hand.
In contrast, those who had abandoned the Heaven Court felt a sharp pang of remorse. After leaving, they had faced many hardships, and many of their comrades had died.
Those dead would never be brought back.
Their current fate was the direct result of their past choices.
Ye Futian then turned his attention toward the City of the Ruins. A massive aura emerged from the Empyrean invaders as the will of the Immortal Sovereign descended.
“Since you have attained such a high Path, this world is rightfully yours,” a voice boomed through the air.
“Do you believe you can simply enter and leave as you wish?” Ye Futian asked, glancing at the entity. With a thought, countless divine lights fell from the sky, sealing the City of the Ruins and trapping the invaders inside.
He was the personification of the Heavenly Path.
“Years ago, I swore that all invaders would be shown no mercy,” Ye Futian declared. As they felt his divine pressure, the invaders were struck with terror. Even the Immortal Kings felt the cold grip of death.
Ye Futian was now peerless, and this world was his domain.
“Die!” he commanded. Instantly, the Great Tribulations of Apocalypse fell from the Heavenly Path to annihilate the intruders.
Swoosh. Swoosh. The tribulations struck repeatedly, turning numerous figures into ash. They were obliterated instantly, unable to resist. Even the Immortal Kings could only struggle for a moment before they were slain.
“You are too arrogant!” the Immortal Sovereign of Empyrean roared.
His voice shook the heavens as he glared at Ye Futian, who had just slaughtered his subordinates.
“Arrogant?” Ye Futian exerted his will, causing the space around the entity to collapse. The massive face was crushed. Ye Futian appeared instantly in the City of the Ruins. The Immortal Sovereign looked grim; he hadn't expected to meet such a powerful foe.
The primary risk of invading another universe was the absolute authority the locals held over their own laws. This was why he had sent scouts first.
He never expected to run into Ye Futian.
“This is not the end,” the Immortal Sovereign of Empyrean spat. As the space crumbled, a fragment of his consciousness escaped through the altar's path, fleeing back toward his own universe.
Ye Futian remained still, his gaze fixed on that distant universe. His will locked onto a specific coordinate across the vast void.
“What?” the Immortal Sovereign gasped, opening his eyes within his palace in the Empyrean. He realized Ye Futian’s gaze had followed him across the dimensions.
Back in the City of the Ruins, Ye Futian condensed the Divine Power of the World into a spear. He hurled it into the portal that linked the two worlds.
In the Empyrean, a thunderous boom erupted. The entire universe shuddered violently. Space and time fractured as the heavens began to collapse into a black hole that devoured everything.
“Annihilate time and space,” Ye Futian ordered.
The Empyrean shook under the weight of his command.
Ye Futian eventually withdrew his gaze. The City of the Ruins returned to its peaceful state, the portal closed, and he returned to the Qingzhou Academy.
The witnesses remained in a state of shock for a long time, haunted by the spear that had crossed dimensions.
Was this the peak of cultivation?
Even the Immortal Sovereign of Empyrean had been broken by a single strike!
