The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse Chapter 1684: Battle At Sea

It turned out their estimation of how long it would take them to arrive on the other side of the Three Elemental Sea was wrong.

They were travelling from the western side to the eastern side, so naturally, they would be passing through all three levels of the sea, experiencing all three currents that came with them.

They would also be experiencing the onslaught of all the types of beasts found in all three levels.

So, estimating two to three months had proven much shorter than it would actually take them. Kaden and everyone became aware of this a week into their journey.

They had only gone a bit farther into the Outer Level when the first current hit them. As Kaden suspected, the current came with some form of spatial distortion that left them disoriented for a few minutes before the main tide struck in the form of hordes of God-tier beasts.

Kaden was taken aback by the sudden attack and, most importantly, by the sheer number of beasts that came at them.

They numbered close to a thousand, and they seemed to have perfect battle synchrony, something he never expected this early in their journey.

But they had to fight, and they did.

Void, Qilin, Nirvana, and Fury took charge of the battle.

As Kaden had anticipated, their kills kept coming to him.

Qilin moved like a blur, appearing before a sea beast with the body of a Griffin but with some mutated body parts covered in lightning. Forming a spear from flames, she stabbed it through the poor beast’s chest, ending its life.

The messages came as Kaden expected, and now, watching as his other Primordial Flame Spirits were killing to their satisfaction, he could only smile and join them too.

Jane, who had finally gained a combat-type class, was as swift as the wind, moving with eerie speed, the kind that made Kaden furrow his brow a bit.

He knew all Jane had ever wanted was to be able to engage in martial combat like the rest of them, but due to the passive nature of her Star Map class, she hadn’t been able to.

But now, after becoming a Flame Elemental, she seemed to have gained this advanced combat style that, after studying her for a few minutes, told Kaden she was using both her combat class and Star Map to fight.

The Star Map mostly aided her in navigation and in gauging how fast she was moving. Kaden was a bit taken aback but was equally happy for her. More importantly, she seemed happy now that she was fighting beside her friends, especially Pickle Berry.

Her kills were also adding to Kaden’s, but only the elemental part. The Spatial Essence was being absorbed by her, who had a Perfect Harmony understanding of the Space Law, thanks to the Star Map.

Among his three wives, only Aria, who was an Ice Elemental, and Nova, who was a Lightning Elemental, were benefiting from their kills.

The Three Elemental Sea had only three races: the Lightning Sea Griffin Race, the Water Dinosaur Whale Race, and the Ice Sea Mantis Race. So aside from these three elements, no other element could be trained here.

Stella, who was a Flame Elemental, wasn’t benefiting at all, so her kills were coming to Kaden, the same as his Primordial Flame Spirits.

Aria moved with freezing steps, each movement causing the surface of the water to freeze for a few seconds before exploding into shards. Her blue hair whipped behind her as she unleashed one ice spell after another, killing the horde of beasts.

Her control over ice was flawless. She didn’t even have to use any spells since she could manually manipulate the ice into any form she wanted and use it to attack.

Right now, she had spears made of ice moving so fast that the sea beasts were dying before they knew what had happened.

The presence of water had further reduced the burden on her. She could simply transform the water into ice and shape it into any form she wanted.

Nova, on the other hand, had summoned a spear-like weapon with a curved blade, riding the lightning and unleashing powerful lightning-based attacks.

Kaden had already discovered that in the Paragon Harem, she ranked among the top ten best weapon wielders.

Just like how Queenie, Miriam, and the rest could wield their weapons with chilling devastation, Nova had also cultivated her weapon to the point that she rivaled most of them.

Klaus had been unaware of this until she came to train with Kaden inside the inheritance tower. Aria was an Ice Mage, and Nova was a combat mage who leaned more into her combat nature than her mage side.

But unlike the two of them, their third sister, Stella, used both combat and magic in every aspect. She wielded a bow, and with every arrow she fired, one could sense a chilling sorcerer rooted deep within it.

Her arrows were unique, each imbued with the power of the flame element.

She wasn’t earning anything from the kills, but she wasn’t slowing down either. Her arrows kept lighting up the sky, and that was all that mattered.

Franklina was also doing her part, making sure to document some of the battle scenes. As for Pickle Berry, she was eager to finish the battle faster so they could keep moving.

The faster they reached the other side, the sooner they would be able to locate her family.

Luckily, an hour into the battle, the last sea beast was killed, and they continued on their way. Though the current kept pushing them apart, threatening to tear them apart, Jane’s Star Map allowed them to stay together at all times.

So they continued forward, and a week later, making it two weeks into their journey, the second tide came, and they had to fight thousands of sea beasts again.

It appeared that the deeper they travelled into the Outer Level, the larger the tides became. Luckily for them, their first encounter had taught them a good lesson, so they were well prepared.

The battle ended after two hours, and their gains were as mind-blowing as ever.

Luckily for them, after three more tides, they reached the Inner Level within a month. They had anticipated two weeks, but it took them one month, so the remaining journey would naturally take even longer.

At the same time, they entered the Inner Level of the Three Elemental Sea from the western zone; elsewhere downstream, a group of Celestials, each radiating powerful law essence, also entered the core Level.

There were five of them, led by a lady who had already entered the Pseudo-Primordial Stage. She had flowing silver hair and an athletic physique.

She held a thin sword, and the clarity in her silver eyes showed she was an experienced and seasoned warrior.

The moment they entered the Inner Level from the southern region, she stopped and raised her hand, signaling her four teammates to halt as well.

"What is wrong, General Nura?"

"Something is different about the Three Elemental Sea." Her eyes flashed with lightning, spreading a faint mist over the surrounding area.

A few seconds later, she turned pale, but before she could say a word, the sea surged, and her biggest fear came to pass in the form of a colossal mantis-type beast.
