Klaus successfully learns Celestial Qi after an intimate encounter with Ember. Meanwhile, Jane and Pickle Berry arrive on Planet Nexarion, a humid, misty world, searching for Pickle Berry's lost family. Jane uses her mastery of space to locate settlements, and they decide to head to the largest city.

"In my race, every young serpent is required to awaken at least two elements during their coming-of-age ceremony. My father wielded four elements, while my mother wielded three. Both of my sisters also had three, and my brother had two.

Naturally, my family was considered one of the strongest, for the more elemental affinities you have, the stronger you become. Unfortunately, when it was time for my awakening, I couldn’t awaken even a single element.

You can already guess what followed. I became the target of mockery and insults. Aside from that, I also became the weakest link in the family since, as a mortal, I could easily be used to get under my family’s skin.

So I made a choice. I left home to look for an alternative way to awaken, despite my family making me feel at home and loved. When I left, and they discovered I was gone, my big sister came after me.

When she found me, I had been captured by a rival tribe. She fought and saved me, but on the way back, we were ambushed, and I got thrown into a wormhole, not knowing how things ended for my sister. She was a God King back then, and the person who attacked us was a Supreme."

A teardrop fell from her eye, but Jane wiped it away.

"If your sister is half the person you are, then I am sure she survived, and we are going to find them. So relax and stay alert. We are almost there."

Pickle Berry nodded, but until she reunited with her family, she wouldn’t relax. After a few minutes’ walk, they arrived at the city, whose name was boldly displayed on the city gate...

The moment Pickle Berry saw the name, a sense of familiarity washed over her, giving her a spark of hope.

"Hamdell City... I knew someone called Hamdell back in the day. Though it is a long shot, I think we are on the right planet... though I wonder why it has turned misty."

Jane looked at her friend and smiled. "In that case, let’s find some answers."

They soon entered the city after showing their IDs at the entrance. The two had been traveling for years now, so they knew the preparations they had to make to avoid issues with anyone, especially customs officials.

After entering the city, they decided to check the information guild first. Luckily for them, one existed in this city, and since the city wasn’t that large, they quickly located it.

The moment they stepped inside, Pickle Berry’s eyes landed on portraits of some familiar faces. She moved toward them and started looking through them...

A few minutes into her browsing, a lady clad in simple attire approached her. "I know, right? Legends who forever will remain in our hearts."

Pickle Berry turned and looked at her. "You make it sound like they are dead."

The lady smiled, and then she sighed. "Of course they are dead. Every last one of them."

Pickle Berry turned pale at once, her legs giving out. Luckily for her, Jane was there to support her. The reason, of course, had to do with three of the portraits on the wall.

They were people she recognized. In fact, all three of them were generals who had served her family, at least as far as she could recall.

Seeing their portraits on the wall and being told they had died wasn’t exactly what she expected. The thought of her parents’ fate crossed her mind, and for a moment, her body trembled.

The lady who had made the revelation looked at Pickle Berry’s reaction, puzzled.

"What is there to be sad about? To our race, these people are legends. They not only saved us, but they even gave their lives to make sure the legacy of the Elementals was preserved."

Jane, who had no idea what the lady was hinting at, asked, "Are you, or do you know about the Dual Elemental Serpent Race?"

"Of course I do. They are our heroes, after all. If it wasn’t for them, the Elemental Empress would have suppressed every last one of us. They fought for our freedom," she sighed, then added, "Even if they never made it out of that place, they made sure we could leave freely."

"Huh? What happened?" Pickle Berry asked, doing her best to keep an open mind.

"It appears you are not aware of the Domain War."

"Domain War?" Pickle Berry furrowed her brow...

"Yes. The Domain War that claimed the lives of many powerful elemental warriors. It all started when the Elemental Emperor vanished all of a sudden, and the former Empress took his place.

For a few thousand years, there was peace and joy. However, it all changed when she began using her authority to suppress the other growing clans and tribes.

It got to the point where she declared that everyone with a sufficient foundation could be deployed to the Ancient Battlefield, which she claimed was a tempering and mentorship activity.

Many died there. Soon, it became apparent that she aimed to kill the future warriors of the tribes that opposed her rule.

So the likes of the Butterfly Clan, Fairy Clan, and many others rallied under the banner of the Dual Elemental Serpent Race, causing the Domain War, one where we fought for freedom while the Empress’s side fought for control.

It was a very long war, but in the end, we won, of course, at a cost so steep none of us saw it coming. Many died, and the leaders of the campaign were banished to the Elemental Garden, the Battlefield of No Return."

"WHAT?"

Pickle Berry’s pale expression became even paler. Some people closer to them turned to look at her, hearing how loudly she exclaimed.

However, she ignored them all because she knew the place the lady had said her family had been banished to. The Elemental Garden, or as they called it, the Battlefield of No Return, was a place in the void where nobody, not even a Pseudo-Primordial, could ever return from.

Nobody truly knew what was there. But it was a known fact that being banished there meant you could never make it out alive.

She had, long before her coming-of-age ceremony, read that a very long time ago, a warrior whom nobody seemed to remember had discovered that place and tried to explore it, but never returned.

However, before he left, he gave instructions on how to send someone there.

This knowledge was preserved so that the worst of society could be sent there, ensuring their threat remained there forever. Never in her wildest dreams had she imagined her family would end up there.

"Pickle Berry, is everything alright?" Jane asked, worried about her friend.

"We need to go see big brother," she said, then turned to the lady. "Thank you very much for revealing all this to me. I will return later, hopefully, to thank you properly."

She turned to Jane, who understood the task, and with a wave of her hand, they appeared thousands of miles away.

Pickle Berry then left a marker there, and the next second, they teleported away, appearing somewhere on the second floor of the Inheritance Tower, where Kaden was training.
