The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse Chapter 1653: Aster

Later, Vida, Sofia, Aoi, Kalynda, and the tiger lady returned to the city, where they planned to spend some time with her, making sure she understood their intentions. She has some questions, and they plan to answer all.

She was shaken for a moment there when she discovered they were Klaus’ wives.

While the Paragon isn’t being hunted down like before, she knew he was still a danger, and so hanging around with his wives surely wasn’t going to look good on her.

But they saved her, so she decided to give them the benefit of the doubt.

More importantly, while she may choose to doubt it, she sensed a connection between herself and Kalynda.

This told her she might have something they wanted, and so she intended to find out more. Honestly, she wanted to see if they were a good bunch or rotten ones.

When they got to the city, she led them to a coffee shop and ordered some coffee. This was her favorite coffee shop, and the owner was a Supreme, so she at least wanted to feel safe.

After they were served, she scanned the faces of the four people seated across from her and asked...

"You said I can help the Paragon accomplish a great deal. Can you be a little specific about what it is that I can do?"

Vida and her sisters had already discussed this on their way from the Human Universe, so being asked this question didn’t come as a shock to them.

They knew Kalynda would also want to know, so they made up their minds to reveal everything when the time was right. Now seemed like the right time to them.

So Vida quickly answered, "There are some very powerful warriors trapped in a pocket dimension that need to be freed. However, to accomplish that, we need three keys, and one of them is locked inside your soul sea.

Kalynda is the first key, and you are the second. Now, before you freak out and think we intend to kill you to extract the key, know that we want you alive and, most importantly, your source of power came from that key.

It is dormant now, but the day we find all three and activate them, all three of you will finally witness the power of the Asura Keys."

The Tiger Lady nodded, then she asked:

"So the race we will be freeing is the Asura Race, huh? If that is the case, why would I work together with you to free them, seeing as they are traitors of the universe? By the way, my name is Aster."

Sofia smiled and answered:

"Nice meeting you, Aster, and I am not sure you believe what you just said. Deep down, I know you don’t believe it, but since you asked, here is my answer.

"The Asura Race was never the traitors that the Celestial Supreme and his allies preach them to be. In fact, the guardians of the universe during the Blood Era were the Asura Race.

"We know this because, be that as it may, we already have the Asura Queen with us, and from what she has told us, the Heavens Court colluded with the Demons, Elves, Phoenix, Metal Race, Aliens, and the Elementals to wipe them out.

If they were the traitors they painted them to be, do you seriously think they would have protected the universe from all forms of danger?"

"The Heavens Court is the guardians, ladies. I know this because I am in the Heavens Academy on this side of the universe. Once we become gods, we are deployed to the Ancient Battlefield to protect the universe.

So tell me, why should I believe you or the Paragon when all the evidence points to me helping a traitor free more traitors?"

Aoi, who likes to keep to herself, smiled and answered, "How many times have you heard the Paragon collude with someone who is on the side of the Foreign Race or wants the universe to become his to rule?"

"That..." the tiger lady had no answer.

Seeing this, Aoi shook her head with a smile still on her face and said:

"To be honest with you, the Heavens Court has never been a threat to my husband. If he had wanted to, he would have brought them to their knees long ago.

However, as you said, the Heavens Court is the guardian of the universe, so he knew he had to keep them alive so they could continue protecting it.

But if you, for once, think the Foreign Race is the main threat to the universe, then you might as well offer them your head because, let me tell you, the danger to the universe right now is Axarax, who the Celestial Supreme has freed and just helped him become ultra-powerful.

Honestly, you should fear for your life because while the Heavens have yet to become aware of your existence, they will soon know how important you are to the Paragon, and so they will kill you to make sure his plans fail.

They have killed many in the past, so trust your gut and know which side to pick. Regardless, we won’t hate you or threaten you.

As complex as it may be, with or without your help, the Asura Race is coming back home. But I do hope you join us because the gifts and rewards attached will surely make you drool when you hear them."

The Tiger Lady sighed, still unsure of what to do. She wasn’t someone influential whom people counted on to do something for them. She had no family and no attachments.

She lied about giving the crab core to her friend when she actually wanted it for herself. She only said that so that if these people turned out to be bad news, she would sell it at a very powerful store and snitch on them.

However, things were different now, and because of that, she became conflicted.

She had no idea what to do or which decision would be right. But by siding with them, she would help free the Asura Race, and by rejecting them, she would become someone the Paragon would never forget.

While she still had her doubts about whether the Paragon was a good person, she knew being on the radar of someone like that was bad.

So she couldn’t afford to offend him.

Her mind spun a few times, and she was about to make a decision when the screens lit up, showing a familiar face...

"The Mad Hunter," the Tiger Woman exclaimed, her eyes sparkling almost as if she had seen her idol.

Indeed, on the screen, Klaus’s father, Hunter, and his five uncles, Mark, Jojo, Xian, James, and Ziggy, stood in space, looking at a planet made of ice. Before them, thousands of demon warriors stood, weapons drawn and ready for battle.

Suddenly, Aoi stood up and stretched. "I will be back, ladies."

Before they could blink, she disappeared from the room and appeared on the screen, now standing beside Hunter and the five uncles.

Aster, the tiger lady’s eyes widened. Clearly, she had seen wrong...right?

"W-Where... H-how..." she was at a loss for words. However, Vida and her sisters smiled. Suddenly, another figure appeared beside them.

"Lady Elysia couldn’t sit this one out, huh?" Sofia said with a smile, seeing Klaus’s mother appear on the screen too.

"I guess that demon is as good as dead," Vida said, and Sofia nodded.
