The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse Chapter 1615: Overwhelming Display of Anger
Previously on The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse...
The Sylvaris Planetary System has 12 planets, ten of which are mining colonies. They are perhaps the most valuable planets in the system, so they are protected by some of the most advanced shields and weapons.
Because of this, when the demons attacked, they couldn’t breach any of them.
As a result, they turned to the two remaining planets that housed the miners and their families.
Planet Sorat is the largest planet within the Sylvaris Planetary System, and it was the planet the demons attacked first, since it gives them access to the most leverage.
The elves made a quick rescue on the second planet, but before they could get to Planet Sorat, it had already been engulfed by the Spatial Domain owned by the Ebon Sovereign.
This left Planet Sorat and its 640,000 inhabitants at the mercy of the 85,000 demons.
Every effort made by the Elven Empire and the hunters who took on this mission failed. Later, it was discovered that whenever a mission failed, more elves were killed.
The demons had demands, and until they were met, they would not release the elves. Of course, the debate was whether or not to meet their demands. The minerals are far more valuable to most than the lives of the hostages some said.
In the end, the Elven Empress wasn’t heartless, so she started heeding their demands while simultaneously searching for someone worthy of liberating her people.
Today was another day for the demons to make a demand of the Elven Empress.
Inside a mansion with thick walls, sat a demon with metallic-brown skin and a single bullhorn protruding from his forehead. He had dark eyes and fangs much longer than a vampire’s. To add to his already terrifying appearance, he had red dreadlocks.
The Ebon Sovereign is one terrifying demon by all standards, but quite resourceful.
"General, today is the day we planned to request Elven women while we wait for Lord Mordrika to send the aides who will break the shields," another demon with more toned-down features said, holding a communication device.
The man who was the general of the demons who attacked the Sylvaris Planetary System smiled. He was widely known as the Ebon Sovereign.
"That is surely on the itinerary, isn’t it?" he grinned and tapped the arm of his throne. "Send the request, and make sure they send redheads. I fancy redheads, you see."
The demon soldier smiled. "I already had that in mind, General. Just sit and relax while I handle the rest."
"Good warrior you are, Ghjak."
The demon soldier smiled, happy that his general remembered his name. He bowed and walked out of the room.
After he left, the Ebon Sovereign smiled and leaned back on his throne like a king when, in fact, he was merely an errand boy of a Demon Lord who had somehow managed to discover what the elves had been hiding.
Using the Ebon Sovereign and his team of demons, he was working to take it all.
"Soon, I will become someone feared across the universe. After all, not even Celestials can kill me as long as my domain is active."
He grinned and was about to take a nap when a voice spread across the entirety of Planet Sorat, followed by a devastating attack that blasted the entire mansion into chunks of stone and sand.
"Come out and die, Ebon Sovereign."
Klaus stood in the air, the armour covering his body now in the form of a red-and-black exo-metallic living armour. His scythe, Bloodwork, rested on his shoulder, and an overwhelming killing intent oozed from his body.
The mansion that the Ebon Sovereign had taken as his dwelling for the past year had been reduced to nothing. Suddenly, from the rubble, the furious demon general rose into the air, his expression burning with overwhelming rage.
All around, thousands of demons surrounded Klaus, their weapons drawn and ready to kill.
"State your name, human," the Ebon Sovereign shouted, drawing a broadsword from his space ring.
"Why should I bother telling you my name?" Klaus smirked and scanned his surroundings, making sure he counted the number of demons surrounding him.
’84,000, huh... Looks like 1,000 are keeping an eye on the hostages.’
"General, he is the Renegade Hunter," the demon who had been about to send the request before Klais appeared suddenly said, recognising Klaus, whose images were all over the uniweb.
"Hahahahahahaha... So it is the infamous bug calling himself the Renegade Hunter." The Ebon Sovereign laughed and pointed his broadsword at Klaus. "Are you here to kill me, huh, Mr Hunter?"
Klaus smiled and nodded. "Yes."
Hearing his reply, the Ebon Sovereign laughed again, and this time, the rest of the demons laughed with him.
"Oh, this will be good," he said, turning to his left.
"I want this stream on the Dark Universe channel and Uniweb. I want everyone to witness how the Ebon Sovereign kills the rising star of the human universe."
At his request, some of the demons started streaming the battle using satellites in orbit, and since the name Renegade Hunter was on everyone’s search list, the stream reached billions and so they immediately tuned in.
Klaus stood in the air with a calm smile.
"So you choose to show the entire universe how weak demons are, huh? From where I stand, I am merely a True Immortal faced by 500 Demigods and over 80,000 Immortal Lords. If I kill you all, won’t that make me even more popular?"
The Ebon Sovereign laughed, his shoulders trembling.
"Kill us? What, do you think you are the Paragon?"
Klaus smirked.
"No, I am not him. I am Klaus Hanson, the Renegade Hunter, and someone you should fear more than the Paragon."
Klaus’s golden eyes turned red, and at once, the aura around him became a metallic mixture of bloodlust and overwhelming killing intent.
BOOM!
Fourteen Immortal Rings exploded out from his body, raising his strength to a whole different level. The demons felt it and, at once, released their auras. But before they could withstand the pressure coming from Klaus, he moved, and heads flew into the air.
Klaus tapped into the wind element and, like a blur, moved so fast that nobody could even track him. The only thing they could see was heads flying into the air.
"Block him!" the Ebon Sovereign panicked, commanding the Demigods in his team to stop Klaus. However, before they could get close, thousands of spirit weapons appeared in the air and attacked.
Among those weapons, a Supreme-grade living dagger housing a Supreme-Level Weapon Spirit moved like a blur, killing one demon after another.
This dagger was the Grim Void Blade, and the weapon spirit was Seraya, who, thanks to Icon and Atomic, had become a living weapon. Of course, she chose that despite Klaus promising to build her a new body.
She had chosen to use the Grim Void Blade as her body, and now she had been unleashed. Even more troublesome for the demons, because she was a weapon, the Ebon Sovereign’s domain wasn’t suppressing her.
This means Klaus has a Supreme on his side.
In less than a minute, over 5,000 demons had died, and many more soon followed.
Klaus moved and appeared within an encirclement of five Immortal Lords. Before they could even see who had appeared, Klaus swung his scythe, and their heads flew into the air.
The last thing they saw was Klaus flinging his white hair back with an arrogant smirk on his face. He moved again, a trail of blood following everywhere he went as it was absorbed by his scythe.
Bloodwork had already unlocked one seal and now sought to unlock a second, so it spared no effort in drinking the blood of the slain demons.
Klaus was pissed off, not because of the demons, but because of the memories of what he had done to the Chaste Maidens during the Blood Era.
As a result, he was unleashing all of that anger upon the unfortunate demons.
