The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse Chapter 1508: Rory’s Gains
[One Month Later]
Klaus held Rory close in a warm embrace, their bodies intertwined as they relaxed in a bathtub. A full month had passed since their return from the Jade Nest.
After Rory spent a fortnight in deep slumber, they took the momentous leap in their relationship, finally becoming one and connecting through the Paragon Mark.
Klaus felt a surge of joy that Rory had finally received the profound benefits his other wives obtained when joining the Paragon Mark.
Her attributes now boasted a staggering 200,000% increase, her bloodline ascended to the Celestial stage, and a Dao Seed was stirring within her soul sea.
The transition from the mortal stage to True Immortal had unleashed numerous advantages, transforming his wives into formidable powers overnight.
Currently, among his many consorts, Lily's speed could contend with that of a demigod, a testament to the Paragon Mark's influence.
Rory, adept in both archery and close-quarters combat, had also seen a significant enhancement in all aspects of her being. In fact, she stood as his strongest wife at this present moment.
Until Klaus officially takes Queen Leah and her kin as his wives, Rory proudly holds the title of the strongest.
Had these enhancements been present before their venture into the Jade Nest, she could have vanquished even the mightiest demigod in under ten moves.
Prior to becoming Klaus’s wife, she possessed a profound understanding of [Space Law].
However, after her linkage with the Paragon Mark, her mastery surged to the Perfect stage, completely surpassing the Super level.
This elevated her into a truly perilous adversary, and fueled by happiness and perhaps gratitude, they had spent the subsequent two weeks lost in each other’s arms, reveling in their love.
Other advantages accrued, but the most critical were the enhancements to her bloodline, Law comprehension, and overall attributes.
"I never imagined becoming your wife carried so many benefits," Rory murmured, content and perhaps eager to return to Planet Caelmir to train alongside her sisters.
Klaus smiled, gently brushing a strand of silver hair from her face.
"It's fortunate you became my wife. Now you can grow even stronger and aid me when I require assistance."
Had Klaus uttered these words before she received these boons, she might have smirked and declared that Klaus needed no help from her.
But circumstances had indeed shifted. Her grasp of Space Law was now at the Perfect stage, making her capabilities entirely unpredictable.
"Just try not to plunge into any grave danger until I forge my Law Core and ascend to demigod status. While I am powerful now, I am not invincible."
"Oh, you believe becoming a demigod will render you invincible?" Klaus inquired, his brows raised in subtle intrigue.
"I cannot say for certain if I will be invincible, but according to Lucy, a new power has awakened within the Paragon Mark, and I should investigate it with you. She mentioned that upon reaching demigodhood, even true gods might tremble before me."
"Indeed," Klaus responded, feigning surprise while maintaining his composure. "You should depart swiftly then. I am eager to witness what that brilliant mind has uncovered."
Rory nodded and proceeded to cleanse themselves. Following their shower, she intended to check on Slate, Omen, and Echo, while Klaus resolved to enter the Dark Space and assess the recent developments.
Icon had already apprised him of the numerous interview solicitations he had received.
However, given his intention to remain detached from the conflict between the Paragon and the Heavens Court, he decided to decline all these requests.
His current focus was to ascertain the changes that had occurred and, if feasible, address some pressing matters. The Dark Space would offer an opportunity to conduct a few meetings before departing with Rory and the others.
He materialized before the obsidian mansion, where, as always, the nine Star Guards stood vigilant. Sensing his arrival, they promptly emerged to greet him.
"It seems you have been quite occupied, Master," Scarlet remarked with a radiant smile. As beings who had witnessed the dawn of time, they found immense pleasure in compelling spectacles.
The conflict between the Paragon and the Heavens Court had provided ample entertainment, much to her delight. The others shared her sentiments.
"I merely executed my initial plans. I trust that when the opportune moment arises, all these endeavors will yield their intended results."
"Master, you truly went to extraordinary lengths, and I am confident success will be ours this time," Darius affirmed, his voice brimming with encouragement.
"I sincerely hope so."
Klaus engaged in a brief exchange with his nine Paragon Star Guards before venturing inside to peruse the messages he had accumulated.
Thanks to Icon's unparalleled assistance, he had managed to sift through and prioritize the most critical communications.
At the apex of this list was a message from Lord Flux.
As the individual responsible for linking him to one of the twelve Supreme Elders of the Warrior Temple, Klaus recognized that any correspondence from him carried significant weight.
A full day after your entry into the Jade Nest was logged, his initial communication arrived. He apparently intended to solicit your assistance in acquiring a particular treasure he suspected was housed within the Jade Nest.
Klaus raised an eyebrow, curiosity piqued. "Which treasure was he hoping I would retrieve?"
"It's a treasure known as the [Three Elemental Necklace]. This is an equipable treasure that bestows upon its wearer the temporary elemental affinities of Flame, Lightning, and Ice."
"I see." Klaus let out a sigh, a sense of having missed a significant opportunity pervading him. Although he was not indebted to Lord Flux, securing that treasure for him would have certainly mended their relationship.
Had the Heavens Court not erected a seal around the nest, his message would have undoubtedly reached him.
Klaus sighed once more and was about to move to the next message when a necklace materialized before him. Given his current location within the Dark Space, only a digital representation appeared.
"I may have deployed the Beast Legion to systematically strip the entire vault bare after you and the others departed. This particular necklace was discovered on the fifth floor."
Klaus gazed at the necklace, his expression one of utter astonishment. For a brief moment, he found himself utterly speechless. "When you say 'loot,' do you mean that in a literal sense or figuratively?"
Icon responded with a smile, "I removed everything, leaving nothing but the empty display cases."
"Damn, Icon. I had no idea you possessed such a talent."
As an individual with a past steeped in the arts of con artistry and criminality, he felt a surge of pride for his unscrupulous sentient subordinate. "I suppose Lord Flux will indeed receive his necklace after all."
With a grin, he continued to sift through the remaining messages.
It wasn't long before a crucial one surfaced.
"Lady Ryuu requests that you meet with the officials who attended your duel against Rouni. It appears that your neglect of them over these past several months has resulted in their dissatisfaction; thus, Lady Ryuu wishes for you to placate them before their anger truly ignites."
Klaus gave a nod of assent.
His plans had already included meeting them prior to making his way to the academy. While no formal arrangements had been made with the Doom Hunter, he was well aware of his obligation to meet the other three and offer his apologies.
His initial audience would be with Supreme Queen Mirabel, the distinguished representative and director of the Universe Bank within the Milky Way Galaxy.
Considering his current need for financial resources, he recognized the wisdom in avoiding any potential misunderstandings with such an influential figure.
