The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse Chapter 1441: Father-Son Day Out

Strolling the streets alongside his father felt truly pleasant. Klaus hadn't realized he craved this moment, but now immersed in it, happiness washed over him.
Back in those days, after his father and all his siblings cast him aside, he often fantasized about the day his father would embrace him for who he truly was.
To be a vampire defined his very being and destiny.
Yet when reconciliation finally arrived later on, it proved far too late. His mother and wives had already departed this world. Inevitably, a fragment of his soul perished with them, so those dreamed-of emotions never truly surfaced.
This time, every one of those feelings coursed through him fully.
His mother remains alive, as do all his wives.
"A lot had changed since the last time I was here," Klaus remarked, glancing around.
Over countless years, the world endured multiple rebuilds, vanishing all the landmarks he once knew and cherished.
"Evolution ignores memories entirely. Time advances, carrying its growth forward," King Alric responded. "I'm actually surprised they've managed to keep some relics intact."
Upon relinquishing his throne, he relocated his family to a neighboring planet, basing himself on one of its moons as protector for that world and this one alike.
With passing years, as mighty experts proliferated within the Caelmir Royal Family and the armed forces, his aid grew redundant, affording him undisturbed leisure for ages.
"Would you have preserved something if you were still the king?"
"Not particularly. I don't cling to worldly objects, so most items the current royals fussed over preserving wouldn't have concerned me. Besides, the paragon doesn't obsess me overly."
Klaus simply chuckled.
Minutes more of wandering brought them to a coffee shop, where they placed orders, claimed seats, and awaited their drinks.
Disguised as he was, Klaus escaped notice as the Renegade Hunter. Recognition would tear gaps in his flawlessly woven background story.
King Alric, meanwhile, ensured no one identified him. As a Celestial, altering memories came effortlessly to him, undetected by the victims.
"How are my siblings doing, anyway? Last time I visited, you mentioned they were all in seclusion." Though they acted like jerks toward him before, those seven siblings still counted as family.
"Before you answer, just how many siblings do I have these days? You had dozens of wives and concubines back then, old man—so how much have you tired of chasing more since I last warned you?"
King Alric grinned slyly. Across his billions of years, only Magnus and Klaus bantered with him so boldly.
They never regarded him as a Celestial; to them, he was simply their dad, who'd been a jerk briefly before snapping out of it.
Klaus recalled those 15 years prior to his vampire awakening, when he served as his father's closest ally. Their bond stood unique, something his seven siblings then deeply resented.
Thus, King Alric only smiled at Klaus's jabs. He was a notorious charmer in those times. Yet before Klaus departed Caelmir post-awakening, he sired just 7 offspring: 3 daughters and 4 sons.
"Thanks to you, a few stepmothers kept their distance from me. Still, you now boast 128 siblings, every one alive."
"Damn, old man—you weren't bluffing when you claimed you'd forge your own bloodline."
In reality, King Alric fathered 128 children excluding Magnus, back in the Paragon of War Era. These days, his lineage swells to hundreds of thousands.
His great-great-great-great-grandchildren abound, with generational layers even he can't tally precisely before reaching 'grand.' Their vast proliferation compelled him to tow a desolate planet from millions of light-years away into Caelmir's system, settling there as its anchor.
Most residents on that world trace back to his blood.
"Chatting about every single one would take forever, so how about details on my seven older siblings?"
King Alric burst into laughter. By that point, their coffee arrived, prompting him to take a sip.
"Eloise, the eldest, ascended to Celestial long ago. She entered the Warrior Tower billions of years back and rose to powerhouse status among them.
Ronan achieved Celestial rank too. He even guided his elder sister and two younger siblings into the forbidden universe, shielding them until all attained Celestial. Word has it he plunged into a notorious calamity zone—2 million years past.
Sora pledged to the Flaming Tower, fire mages who collaborate closely with the Heavens Court.
Chris lurks somewhere in the demon universe, pursuing heaven-knows-what. I quit following his antics since slaying him defies possibility. His law of self proves monstrously formidable,"
Klaus grinned, reminiscing a clash with that brother. Amid relentless mockery from all sides, Chris once deployed his elite assassin prowess to torment Magnus.
That duel left him minus one hand and blind in the left eye. Ever since, despite loathing Magnus, he never dared provoke him again.
"Ah, the good old days."
"Nixie aligned with the Healing Temple. Her gentle soul suits it perfectly—she's a healing mage now, ranking among the universe's premier healers and holding Celestial power.
The twins, Ryan and Evan, enlisted in the Grim Army. Frankly, their pursuits escape me, and I lack curiosity. They chart their own courses in life."
"Sounds like they're faring splendidly. I'm pleased for them,"
"Well, having a brother who once reigned as Paragon, they battled fiercely to match your prowess and even eclipse it,"
Klaus smiled faintly, blending delight with suspicion. He questioned why some siblings gravitated to groups hellbent on Paragon destruction.
"Don't dwell on it. Lessons learned, they won't turn against you—so ease your mind. Unless they crave death at my hands, of course,"
Klaus chuckled. "Killing your own children makes you happy, huh?"
A firm smack struck his head, drawing a pained grunt from him.
"I deserve that."
King Alric smirked wordlessly. Still, vowing to eliminate any kin daring to target Klaus revealed his unyielding commitment to his son this time.
That signified profound character evolution.
Their coffee session progressed smoothly thereafter. Klaus fired off numerous questions, and King Alric possessed eternity to address them all.
After finishing coffee, they resumed meandering through the city, hopping from spot to spot while evoking bygone memories. Night descended unnoticed by Klaus, leading them to seek dinner before returning home.
