Jian Anning struggled with a lack of appetite during her pregnancy. Zhao Ziyin brought her sour plums, which helped alleviate her nausea and restored her ability to eat. Her son, Mo Yangyang, also tried the plums and reacted dramatically to their sourness.

Another half-month drifted by, and during the subsequent prenatal examination, the seemingly weaker infant showed a marked increase in strength. Nevertheless, this child remained considerably less robust than a typical newborn.

Concurrently, the other baby, nestled beside its sibling, was thriving, already four months old and noticeably larger. Both infants appeared quite healthy overall, and after Jian Anning concluded her check-up, a sense of profound relief washed over her.

Her pregnancy had now reached approximately the four-month milestone, signaling the heart of her gestation. The persistent nausea had significantly subsided. In moments free from queasiness, she found herself ravenous, akin to a hibernating bear emerging to devour an entire herd.

Witnessing her appetite’s resurgence, the Yu Family also experienced a considerable easing of their anxieties. To compensate for her meager intake during the initial three months, Jian Anning was now indulging voraciously. Satisfying herself with hearty meals of fish and meat proved insufficient; she also consumed prodigious quantities of rich stews and nourishing broths.

In those nascent stages, Jian Anning had been as slender as a famine victim. But now, merely at the four-month juncture, she began to swell like an overfilled balloon. Her weight escalated in tandem with her burgeoning belly, both assuming a pleasing roundness. Emanating a healthy, oily sheen and a rosy complexion, she presented a picture of vitality far removed from her former gaunt frame.

This time, the observation was undeniable to all: she was unequivocally carrying twins!

Yet, despite the recent encouraging prenatal results, absolute certainty remained elusive until the sixth month approached; anxieties persisted regarding the complete health of the two developing fetuses. Both parents harbored a deep-seated fear of any potential complications with the babies within her womb.

Meanwhile, Yu Zexiao embarked on a new endeavor, his schedule more demanding than ever, undertaking roles that necessitated extensive outdoor filming, leaving him completely immersed in his workload.

True to his promise, he engaged the services of a young man in his twenties and a mature lady in her forties to serve as his assistants, delegating his daily affairs to their capable hands. Furthermore, he specifically sought Jian Anning's approval for their hiring, ensuring she personally vetted the two individuals he selected.

Jian Anning grasped his underlying intentions with perfect clarity, feeling a mixture of surprise and pleasure at his forthrightness. Yu Zexiao was slated for over a month of outdoor filming, and upon his return home a month later, Jian Anning had undergone a profound transformation.

By the time she neared the six-month mark of her pregnancy, her abdomen had dramatically expanded, rendering her a curvaceous and radiant embodiment of maternal abundance!

Fortunately for Jian Anning, her extreme thinness in the earlier months had been a blessing; even with the weight gain during this period, when compared to her former self, she had become heavier, yet remained well within the acceptable range for expectant mothers.

"Have I become unsightly?" Jian Anning's heart swelled with delight upon Yu Zexiao's return, but this initial joy quickly gave way to profound apprehension.

What if Yu Zexiao grew displeased with her for gaining weight?

Whispers suggested that pregnancy-induced weight gain was notoriously difficult to shed. She was overly concerned about the babies receiving insufficient nourishment, prompting her to eat more, and the Yu Family, equally anxious about the infants' nutrition, continually encouraged her to consume larger quantities.

She hesitated to step onto the scale, uncertain of the exact extent of her weight gain—confident, however, that it was substantial.

Yu Zexiao surveyed her from head to toe, observing her intently for a moment before finally nodding, "Yes, you have put on some weight."

Jian Anning's eyes immediately welled with tears, but Yu Zexiao's subsequent declaration served as a soothing balm, "But I find you even more beautiful now!"
