Jian Anning, facing a grim prognosis, decides to seize her remaining time with Yu Zexiao and pursue marriage immediately. She confides in Shen Lanxiao and Xia Ziyu, expressing her gratitude and her wish to be Shen Lanxiao's daughter-in-law in the next life. After arranging for Qiu Yixian to be informed, Jian Anning is transferred to the obstetrics and gynecology department, where she directly asks the doctor about her remaining lifespan.

The physician appeared bewildered, noting the unmistakable sadness on Jian Anning’s countenance, an oddity indeed. Yu Zexiao also found the situation peculiar and, after a moment's contemplation, offered, "She might be concerned that the medication she took earlier could pose a problem. She developed a cold a few days ago."

The doctor nodded in understanding, "Not at all. I have reviewed the prescription, and it should not adversely affect your health. However, to ensure complete safety, please schedule an ultrasound in about a month or two to confirm everything is proceeding as expected."

Jian Anning’s tears were perilously close to falling: "Doctor, what about my illness..."

"No medication is required; simply focus on taking good care of yourself."

Absolutely no medication needed? Could this imply her end is truly near?

"So, are there any specific precautions I should observe?"

"Maintain a relaxed and joyful disposition, ensure you get sufficient rest and nourishment. If it's merely a slight cold, a warm ginger tea should suffice. Also, drink plenty of water. Rest whenever you feel fatigued."

It sounded remarkably like final instructions: eat well, drink well, and gracefully embark on the final leg of her journey.

"Could it be true, is there genuinely no longer any hope?" Jian Anning could not suppress the question.

"Hope? For what?" The doctor was entirely taken aback, "The infant within you is in perfect health!"

"The infant within me..." Jian Anning froze, momentarily struck dumb, before exclaiming, "Are you referring to me?"

"Indeed, you are pregnant, approximately three weeks along." The doctor seemed slightly flustered, "Fortunately, you were judicious with the medication previously; the baby ought to be well. Nevertheless, exercise caution going forward and refrain from taking any medications haphazardly while pregnant."

"Are you saying I'm not going to die?" Jian Anning stared absently at the doctor, then glanced towards Yu Zexiao.

Yu Zexiao appeared equally perplexed, "Who suggested you were going to die?"

"I..." No one had uttered such words; it was entirely her own fabrication. Her dramatic internal monologue crumbled; she wasn't dying, she was—pregnant?

"Really, truly?" She tentatively touched her still-flat abdomen, struggling to accept the revelation. There was genuinely a child growing within her? The very child she had yearned for?

"Naturally, it's true!" Yu Zexiao playfully pinched her nose, "You little silly goose, what were you even thinking? Treating the prospect of having a baby like a matter of life and death! I never realized you were so faint of heart? Will you be this way as a mother?"

A wave of immense joy, akin to a celestial comet striking her, washed over her! She remained in a state of daze, utterly astonished that she was, in fact, pregnant!

It's quite true that early-term expectant mothers can exhibit heightened sensitivity, become sentimental, and tend to overthink matters. She had endured considerable stress earlier, leading her to adopt a negative outlook when faced with challenges.

And little did she know, when one path closes, providence often reveals another opportunity.

After concluding their consultation, as they departed the examination room and walked out into the hallway, catching sight of the beaming Yu family members, she experienced a profound sense of hope that happiness was finally on the horizon!

At that precise moment, while she was still processing the news, Yu Zexiao suddenly scooped her into his arms! Her feet left the ground; she let out a startled cry and instinctively clung to his neck.

Nearby, several older individuals reacted with surprise, "Xingxing, what are you doing! Be careful not to harm the baby!"

This was not the former tertiary hospital they had visited, but rather the private medical facility they frequented, known for its stringent confidentiality. Even within its walls, there was no fear of encountering media reporters. Yu Zexiao grinned, "What are we doing? We're obviously going to get our marriage license! I truly— cannot bear to wait another second! We are getting married!"

Nestled in his embrace, Jian Anning nodded, her voice soft yet resolute, "We are getting married."

Let's arrange the wedding ceremony for tomorrow, and then everything will be complete! Thank you all!
