Rex unlocked the Domination of the First Alpha skill, calling forth the souls of fallen werewolves to replenish his Life Points. Despite this power boost, Diamantona's crystal lance pierced Rex's head, killing him. However, Rex's Domination skill revived him, and he unleashed his full power, overwhelming Diamantona with a barrage of lightning-infused attacks.

It had been quite some time.

Ever since he was exiled from the human territory, he had grown less and less attached to his elements.

Rex was solely focused on his beast side more and more, as it was the fastest to grow due to the System, while his elemental prowess was lagging behind. It had gotten worse once he reached the Spirit Realm; the gap between the two powers was simply too much.

He only started using a bit more of his elements when he entered the God Realm.

All thanks to immortal energy that helped cover that gap.

But now, upon evolving into the Greater Lycan and gaining access to Primordium Energy, that gap was basically non-existent. Rex could focus solely on cultivating a single path, and that increase would reach his other sources of power.

It was convenient.

Something he desperately needed in order to go to war against an entire realm—the Blood Moon Realm.

Maximizing his elemental prowess would need more than the Primordium Energy—but at least with it, he now has options. He no longer needed to be fixed on one fighting style. As much as he has grown to like his beast side, it has some weaknesses.

Not many long-range attacking options, relies heavily on anger, and prefers physical confrontation.

Against Diamantona, those weaknesses would be the death of him.

Diamantona already made sure not to insinuate his anger, forcing him to find a way around it.

Soon, when the battle became heated, Diamantona would only exploit more of his weaknesses.

But now, with his elemental prowess, countering him would be ten times harder.

Rex practically has an affinity for every natural element. Each one provided him with different strengths to cover where he lacked most. One thing that Rex hadn’t really thought about was the combinations of power he now has access to.

Blitz—!

In a matter of seconds, Rex clawed Diamantona more than a dozen times from different angles.

He was now one with lightning through the Ether Blink Pneuma Spell.

However, his black lightning alone wouldn’t be nearly enough to reach the level of speed he was moving at right now. Not even close. It was true that immortal energy and the primordium energy enhanced his lightning, yet it wouldn’t be to this extent.

Rex’s current speed was possible due to several steps.

Steps that he had asked the System while he was preparing to attack earlier.

Despite his freakish control over his energies, he was still practically inexperienced at wielding several elements at once. He had done it before, yes—but only by combining spells that perfectly complemented one another.

Nothing more demanding than that.

He never used the elements themselves to fight.

More importantly, he had never used two elements with the same level of strength before.

It has always been his lightning element that overshadowed the rest.

Now, with the primordium energy, all his elements were more or less equal. And more than that, having them raised to the same level as his werewolf side brought changes of its own. One that Rex felt almost instantly was the ability to control the elements directly on a massive scale—without the need for spells at all.

And that was when he realized he needed the System’s help.

Just like any other time, the System was ready to provide him with the information he needed.

Rex paid five million gold to purchase the Exalted Multi-Elemental Magus Manual.

Information shot through his brain and provided him with the general and master combinations between the elements. Like someone who had battled using the elements for centuries, he now knew—the theory of the bond between each element and another.

Slash—!

Rex merged back with the black lightning strike and rose to the sky.

Time was moving slower in his vision. The world had become a languid, syrupy thing—every raindrop suspended, and every flash of light stretched into a lingering glow. He eyed Diamantona, who was still helpless against his barrage, and then the red crystal lance hovering behind.

At this speed, that main crystal lance was still able to react to him.

It was fast. Preternaturally fast.

So, he needed to go even faster.

His burning eyes narrowed into focus.

His body began to emanate a sharp, keening wind that cut through the air like a blade through silk. It spread across the area of effect of the cumulonimbus cloud, settling into every point—from which the lightning strikes came.

Rex stopped the lightning strikes for a second—a single, pregnant pause in the storm.

And then sent the wind mana down from the cloud.

It split into two parts and cut through the air.

The wind carved open channels through the atmosphere—invisible pathways that opened up a path for the black lightning strikes to go down without needing to fight against air resistance. From Rex’s vision, translucent and barely visible channels of greenish tubes cut down from the sky and all the way toward where Diamantona stood.

It was a nexus, a convergence of pathways, with Diamantona as the centerpiece.

The channels were like glass, refracting the light, bending the storm around them.

Once the channels were ready, Rex resumed the lightning strikes.

RUMBLE—!

With the sound of ear-deafening thunder, a hundred lightning strikes descended from the sky.

Each one was moving two times faster than they had before. The wind had cleared the way—stripped away the resistance, and now the lightning fell like spears from heaven, unstoppable and absolute. With such speed, nothing should bar his way.

Rex’s lips curled into a smile.

He merged with the lightning strikes again and resumed his attacks.

Blitz—!

Clang—!

Blitz—!

In the next few seconds, Rex attacked, clawing from every angle with relentless fervor.

He was a blur of motion, a living storm, appearing and disappearing faster than thought. He watched as the crystal lance moved far slower than it had before, unable to keep up with his speed. It flailed, trying to intercept him, but it was always a step behind.

Always reaching for a ghost that had already moved on.

Eventually, Rex managed to slip through.

His Red Dawn of Kaiser raked across Diamantona’s chest, but no blood came out.

A shallow wound, but it was there. A line of white across obsidian skin. Even then—Rex was not in any way discouraged. He attacked more and more, raking his lightning claws against the obsidian skin like a madman.

Just then, his claws landed on the exact spot of his first strike.

It carved in deeper, highlighting the white even more.

Realizing what he needed to do, Rex kept attacking the same spot until finally crimson.

Splash—!

Blood drew a beautiful arc across the air, carving a smile across his face.

Rex kept going with savage glee, emboldened by the first streak of blood he drew from Diamantona. His first-ever Scion-blood Something that could be considered an achievement for him.

Just the fresh scent of it was making him feel excited.

One that could not be mimicked by anything else.

An exclusive sensation for landing the first blow against an extremely powerful opponent.

Soon, he stopped and hovered in the sky among the lightning strikes for a second.

Deciding to make an effort to pierce through, he charged his hand with the Sharp Lightning Great Spell. Layered on top of it was the fire element, dyeing the lightning with an outer reddish hue. The two energies merged, creating a hybrid attack that crackled with power.

And then he charged.

Swoosh—!

Rex reached Diamantona in a fraction of a second—and struck. The Sharp Lightning would help pierce through Diamantona’s hard skin. And when his hand was inside, the fire element would explode, ending Diamantona once and for all.

But as his claws were about to strike, they were stopped by something hard.

Clang—!

A resounding clang rang in his ears.

It was not the main crystal lance—that blocked his claws. Diamantona’s body had suddenly turned into red crystal. His entire form had transmuted into rock-solid, crimson-veined crystal. The attack landed— yet it couldn’t pierce through.

And before Rex could react, something happened.

Blitz—!

His eyes widened as an excruciating pain seared one side of his body.

In a snap, his eyes glanced to his right and saw the lightning and fire were reversed to him, severing his entire right arm cleanly. The attack that Rex had intended for Diamantona detonated backward, a savage recoil that blasted his arm completely.

The limb disintegrated, torn apart by the rebound of his own power.

And the shockwave threw him back, spinning through the air, and he caught himself mid-flight with a burst of energy—his eyes wide with shock. He looked down at the stump where his right arm had been. Then at Diamantona, whose crystal form was slowly returning to flesh.

Not even stopping at that, Diamantona’s hand flicked forward.

A massive crystal lance pierced forward at blinding speed.

Rex caught the crystal lance before it could pierce his chest, but the force pushed him away.

As he was thrown backward, slowly arcing down towards the crystal floor, he watched as Diamantona fired a cluster of red crystals through the crystal floor and into the deep water. He did it without thinking, and there was something about it that sent a shiver down Rex’s spine.

<Warning!>

<Warning!>

<Notice: A high concentration of immortal energy is gathering underneath the user!>

The notifications flickered and faded from Rex’s vision, but he had no time to dwell on them.

His hand moved on instinct, casting Sharp Lightning once more. Just like earlier, he wove fire element into the crackling lightning, coating it in a searing corona of orange and gold. The strike lashed out with a forceful swing, meeting the crystal lance’s body.

A deafening crack split the air as the lance snapped clean in two—the pieces spiralled away.

Rex landed hard on the crystal floor, skidding across the translucent surface. He slid backward, arms flailing for balance, until he finally beat the momentum. He looked over his shoulder and saw that he was at the precipice where the crystal floor ended and the dark ocean began.

Below him, the black water churned, endless and hungry.

Rumble—!

Before he could straighten, the ground beneath him convulsed. A violent quake tore through the crystal floor, and Rex stumbled, fighting to keep his footing. The tremor was immense, primal—as if the realm itself had shuddered in fear.

And then he looked up.

From the exact spot where Diamantona had fired the cluster of red crystal, something was rising. Titanic, from the sheer height and size of the rising water column. It burst from the depths of the dark ocean— surging skyward with a roar that shook the heavens.

Dark water cascaded from its surface in torrents, revealing a massive, twisting structure of crystal.

A spiraling obelisk that stretched higher than anything Rex had ever seen.

It even rose past Diamantona himself, who hovered above on his platform of light—watching coldly as the wound on his chest knitted itself back together. Despite Rex display of power, there was no fracture on his impassive face.

The crystal structure loomed over the battlefield like a monument to annihilation.

Its surface gleamed with veins of immortal energy, pulsing with a sickly, crimson light.

Diamantona’s eyes flashed with immense killing intent. Once again—the Major Law of Killing Crystal activated once more, and the air itself seemed to scream. Immortal energy—marked by the brighter part of the crystal structure at its base began to rise rapidly.

It reached the top in seconds.

At its peak, the tip cracked open with a sound like breaking bone.

And then they came.

Hundreds—no, thousands—of smaller crystals crawled out from the fissure. They spread across the sky like the branches of some impossible tree—thinner and sharper than needles, multiplying with every passing second.

They unfurled outward in a vast, crystalline umbrella, blotting out the sky, casting the entire realm into a fractured, glittering darkness.

Such a sight stole Rex’s breath away.

He stared up at the canopy of crystal above him and frowned.

"A crystal tree...?" he muttered, the words barely audible.
