The Invincible Full-Moon System Chapter 2067: Battle of Invincibility Position (2)
Previously on The Invincible Full-Moon System...
Diamantona’s eyes narrowed sharply.
He was hiding it well, but inside, he was quite surprised to see Rex’s transformation.
Unlike earlier, Rex no longer looked like a mindless, berserk beast. Instead—he now appeared to be the highest form that a beast could achieve. A grand, regal, hybrid form that was a combination of man and beast—adapting only the best of both sides while simultaneously cancelling all weaknesses.
Not to mention, the aura he was emanating right now was surprising, to say the least.
If Rex knew what was in Diamantona’s mind right now, he wouldn’t be surprised.
His Lycan Form was simply far superior compared to his other forms.
Not only in terms of appearance, but also in terms of raw power. In this form, every energy that he could control was merged into one. Kingly energy, moonlight energy, life energy, arcane mana, and all other energies, with the exception of a few, were transformed into Primordium Energy.
A flexible energy that could be transformed into any energy without drawbacks.
His reserves of every single energy were merged into one.
Naturally, his aura skyrocketed to a terrifying level—one that even surprised Diamantona.
But then again, Rex was a Scion, someone with the potential to reach the summit of power.
It was natural for him to have a trick up his sleeve.
For a fleeting, suspended moment, the two Scions sized one another.
And in the next second, the two made their moves, charging straight at one another at a speed that even Davina and the other two remaining High Millinars couldn’t follow. A cataclysmic, colourful explosion detonated upon impact like an exploding star, followed by a multi-layered shockwave that vaporized the dark ocean below, peeled the ground from the islands, and shook the sky.
KABOOM—!
Davina was thrown backward.
Her attempt to brace for impact was treated as if it were nothing.
Even the two High Millinars were planted deeper into the ground; their protective barriers shattered.
Just from the impact alone, it was clear that the battle between the Scions was on a league of its own.
Before the explosion and multi-layered shockwave receded—the noses of the two streaks of light already came out and collided multiple times across the sky. Rex and Diamantona pulled nothing back, striking blows backed with the full power that their bodies could produce.
Each attack was lethal.
Not the normal kind of lethal.
One could see that they were throwing their attacks with hate.
Rex could feel the new Blank organ throbbing inside—with every exchange. And Diamantona was feeling it too. Each time they collided, the emotions inside them surged. An overwhelming sadness was fuelling Diamantona as streams of tears drizzled down his face—while an overwhelming anger flooded Rex’s system.
Bound by the Highseat of Invincibility, their desires to kill one another grew more and more.
Unconsciously, their power as a Scion was riled.
Glowing blue streams followed the path of Diamantona’s tears.
As for Rex, his pupils and sclera were devoured by a burning crimson.
"DIE!"
"RAARGH!"
KABOOM—!
Rex’s claws collided with Diamantona’s arm blade, and the impact was catastrophic.
Much more than their initial clash.
Both of them were thrown back, spinning through the air, but Rex’s superior physique made him recover faster. He stopped the momentum forcefully and unleashed a thunderous roar—spreading his Almighty Aura skill.
An almost invisible bubble expanded to his surroundings.
Even before it touched Diamantona, he already blasted forward with a burst of Primordium Energy.
He struck forward, coating his claws with Brutal Impulse.
Crack—!
Rex’s claws struck a distance away—and ancient engravings crawled into existence before the red beam shot forward with so much force that even his arm was thrown back from the recoil. His Brutal Impulse was much stronger than before.
Supplied by the abundant Primordium Energy, its power reached a ridiculous degree.
But it was parried.
Clang—!
Before impact, the crystal lance hovering behind Diamantona turned liquid, flowed into the path of the attack, and hardened again in an instant. The red beam slammed into it and was deflected to the side—it exploded with a searing red in the distance.
Even though the Almighty Aura managed to stun Diamantona, he couldn’t use the opening.
The red crystal lance was there to protect him.
Rex tried again without so much as wasting a single second.
He stepped through the air in a zigzag, striking from a new angle. Once again, he unleashed the Almighty Aura—but this time, his eyes flared with the Weaver of Madness skill, loosing a mental attack meant to prolong the sun.
And then, lightning crackled across his right arm.
He transformed his primordium energy into arcane lightning mana to layer the Sharp Lightning Spell— on top of the Brutal Impulse and struck. Just like the first time, the red crystal lance got in the way, but it couldn’t deflect the red beam anymore.
Upon impact, the red beam exploded with an ear-deafening boom.
But as the smoke receded, a shield of red crystal came to be as Diamantona was utterly unharmed.
Rex did it several times, keeping Diamantona in the center, and attacked from every angle.
But every strike was intercepted.
No matter what angle Rex took to attack—the red crystal lance intercepted. It moved like a living thing, liquid one moment and solid the next, always in the right place at the right time. No matter how much arcane lightning mana Rex put in, it was also utterly useless.
Rex was unable to crack it.
On the last attack, he saw a curl rising on Diamantona’s lips before a bright, blinding flash.
Diamantona’s curving arm blade sliced through the air, carving a deep gash across Rex’s torso while he was blinded. "Stunning the enemy using a physical—and mental attack before attacking... As expected of a Scion from the Anger Stratum—your battle senses are exceptional. My battle senses aren’t as good as yours, but you gave me ideas."
Every enemy he brought down was done through overwhelming strength.
He didn’t need to stretch out the battle.
In fact, whenever he could not overwhelm an enemy, he would rather keep growing stronger first.
Naturally, his battle senses are not that good.
But seeing Rex fight helped him grow his battle senses.
Diamantona thought about how he could stun Rex in return, and then remembered that Rex, as a beast, has superior senses. His five senses were elevated to an extreme degree, but that’s also a curse. Elevated senses meant higher sensitivity, and that could be abused.
Blood sprayed, drawing lethal arcs across the air.
But this only made Rex grin—he didn’t pull back.
Instead, he channelled more arcane lightning mana into his other arm and slashed his claws.
A slicing, diagonal arc that came faster than the eyes could blink.
Seeing this, Diamantona smirked, ’All Scions of the Anger Stratum are brutes. He has not learned that my Millenium Slaughter Liquid Crystal is simply impenetrable. No... Not that he did not learn—but he simply refused that he couldn’t crack it.’
As the claws came, the crystal lance protected Diamantona again.
But the moment the claws made contact, a sound rang out.
It was a sharp, crystalline sound exactly like the sound of an iceberg breaking.
Diamantona’s eyes widened.
"You said it yourself." Rex’s lips curled into a savage grin, savouring the surprise on Diamantona’s face as a small crack spread across the red crystal lance. "My battle senses are exceptional. Do you really think each attack I made is not different than the last?"
He pushed forward; his claws dug deeper and launched Diamantona sideways through the air.
Diamantona tumbled, spun across the air before catching himself a distance away.
He looked at the red crystal lance.
There, on its surface, was a tiny crack. Barely visible, but it was there.
A flaw in the impenetrable.
Rex licked his Red Dawn of Kaiser, tasting the sharp sheen—and the victory. Before launching his last swipe, he had changed the composition of the arcane mana inside his lightning element. He suppressed the chaotic nature of lightning into a focused, penetrative strike.
Since his mastery over his lightning increased, he could play with the lightning element’s composition.
Coupled with his Lycan Form, he could apply it in battle without any problem.
His Primordium Energy followed his highest mastery, which in this case was his moonlight energy.
And through it, he could control the arcane lightning mana as well as his moonlight energy, giving him absolute control over it. Compared to his training, the penetrative power was at least doubled, all due to his Lycan Form.
It had enhanced his attack’s penetration power.
Rex could see it clearly earlier how the first crack formed, and the black lightning spread like branches across the inside of the red crystal lance. A few more successful attacks like that—and he might be able to shatter the red crystal lance.
Diamantona stared at the crack.
His smirk was gone. In its place was something cold. Something calculating.
Before he could even absorb what had happened, the dark ocean below broke apart.
Several lightning eel monsters burst out, shooting straight at Diamantona like quick bullets.
As if his body moved on its own, he blasted backward—letting the three lightning eels streak skyward past him. Then shards of crystal wrapped around them, stabbing with tens of thousands of tiny needles and tearing them to shreds.
Diamantona did it without looking.
Slowly, he fixed attention on Rex again, and his gaze changed.
Swoosh—!
Diamantona’s entire body shimmered with energy.
A suction force erupted from him—a pulling, tearing gravity that reached across the realm like an invisible hand. Rex snapped his head toward the main island and watched the swarm of crystals being dragged toward this Scion of Sadness.
Microscopic shards. Billions of them.
The swarf of crystal mixed with the sand—was pulled from the red shore, turning it back into a normal shore. All of it rose. A mist of crimson that sparkled under the moonlight, swirling and churning before converging on Diamantona like iron filings to a magnet.
He was using the terrain. No more holding back.
The red mist swirled around him, thickening, dyeing the air with a faint shade of sparkling crystal.
Diamantona rose higher, ascending into the sky, and as he climbed, the mist followed. It wrapped around him like a cloak, like a galaxy being surrounded by stars. The shards glittered, each one catching the light and throwing it back in scattered prisms.
He became even more beautiful and terrible.
Following that was an enormous pressure.
A wave of force spread across the entire realm—a weight that pressed down on every living thing, that made the air thick and the ground tremble. Rex’s brows furrowed. His heart tightened. The sensation was familiar, but it was not something he had expected to feel here.
Not from Diamantona.
A notification crept into his vision.
<Notice: The Major Law of Killing Crystal has taken over the entire realm!>
Rex’s eyes scanned it, and a slow smile curled across his lips.
He had suspected. He had known, deep down, that Diamantona would have one.
But knowing and confirming were different things. The Scion of Sadness was simply a formidable entity that would give a ferocious and bloody fight. He was something more. Something that might even push Rex to the absolute limit.
Inside Rex, the blank organ stirred. It riled. It writhed with excitement.
Something blessed. Something chosen.
A fierce battle against a Scion. A true test.
A chance to see whether he could climb the Invincibility Position.
Rex looked skyward.
Diamantona hovered above him, wreathed in crimson mist and glittering shards, his body transformed into something divine. His crimson eyes burned with cold fire. His crystal lance floated behind him, the tiny crack still visible on its surface.
The realm itself seemed to bend around him, as if acknowledging his authority.
He had become a God-like being. Commanding the entire realm.
Rex’s smile widened. His claws flexed. His Primordium Energy surged.
Finally, the two could actually pull nothing back, accepting that both sides could kill the other.
