Rex learned about the hierarchy of Origin-rank bloodlines and chose three powerful traits to integrate into his Greater Lycan form, including Domination of the First Beast, Fortuna Omicron, and Originality of the Beast. As Rex's evolution began, his cocoon shattered, and the Greater Lycan was born.

’I really don’t understand what was happening here.’

Aylith stared at the cocoon that had swallowed Rex in complete and utter confusion.

She knew that the Demigod who had entered her Sovereign Realm was not a simple one—but she did not think that it was to this point. Despite her experience, she has no idea what Rex was doing right now. It was almost like he was using a method that was only accessible to him.

’For a Demigod, divinity would be used to progress them further in their Demigodhood. But this... this didn’t feel like progression.’

Throughout her life, she had seen countless Demigods progressing their Demigodhood.

Millions of them—or even billions of them had ascended to a higher rank of Demigodhood right in front of her eyes, but none of them sparked this kind of phenomenon. Not one of them manifested a cocoon to progress even further.

Most of them simply had an elevation in presence.

Collecting and gathering divinity allowed them to elevate their existence to a higher degree.

And that was mostly followed by a burst of tribulation that they needed to endure.

Once the Demigod passed that tribulation, then their bodies would absorb the divinity and unleash a layer of mortal impurity in the form of a destructive shockwave. It was a process that pushed them closer to becoming the peak of existence—a God.

But that wasn’t what Rex was going through right now.

Aylith was quite certain.

It had been almost half an hour now, and she had already stopped infusing the divinity from the blood circle. Not because she worried that more divinity would cause Rex’s body to implode, but because the divinity was being rejected.

No matter how hard she pushed into the cocoon, the divinity was blocked.

Just then, her gaze shifted to another brilliant sphere in the sky.

Following Rex’s footsteps, Davina was also undergoing something impressive.

A bright silver star, faintly veined with green, hovered above, pulsing with such power that even the air itself rippled outward for a great distance. And with each passing second, the pulses became gradually stronger. ’I can smell his blood in them. They’re connected, that much is certain. But for his rise to also trigger hers... What exactly is happening here?’

Not too far away, Lilliana was also watching these spectacles with wide-open eyes.

Rex did say that he wanted to visit the Great Pale Court and meet with the Goddess of the Greater Moon to prepare for the Purgation Duel, but she wasn’t aware of how he would do that exactly. So, seeing this sight made her sucked in a cold breath.

’I can feel my blood burning,’ Lilliana’s eyes narrowed at Rex’s cocoon. ’Something is happening with his bloodline, and it’s also affecting me.’

Swoosh—!

Aylith threw up her arm as the cocoon detonated.

A deafening discharge of power slammed into her like a physical wall. She was shoved backward, her feet dragging across the air—as if she was on the ground before she caught herself. Genuine surprise flickered through her.

She had access to divinity again, however small, and still the force had moved her.

She lifted her gaze back to the cocoon.

Silver lightning now crawled across its surface, crackling with an intensity that defied reason.

It was rich with moonlight and kingly energy that was grander, denser, and more absolute than anything Rex had ever emitted before. More importantly, Aylith recognized these energies. ’This... This is mine. I gave this power exclusively to one mortal. How did he have it?’

Even before the Lunirich Gods rebelled, she had been answering the call for strength from mortals.

One of them was a mortal from a disputed realm between three Gods.

A beast that suffered the curse of anger.

He was still burning with anger even as the hand of death approached him.

Aylith took pity on this werewolf and decided to grant him the power of the Greater Moon—but the one she gave him was special. Not because she gave him special treatment compared to the other mortals that she had helped, but because his body was so compatible with the power of the Greater Moon.

And with that power, he dominated the realm and made it a part of her territory.

But now, somehow, that grand moonlight and kingly energies were surging around Rex’s cocoon.

’How is this possible? His constitution isn’t even remotely close to that mortal.’

Several arcs of lightning glazed the cocoon like a second skin—and then, with a soundless pull, it was sucked back inside. The cocoon drank it in, hungry as a black hole. Aylith watched as a different colour began to emerge.

Just then, two more energies emerged.

The first was dark—pure and absolute, a darkness that did not simply absorb light but devoured it. The second was wet, a liquid shadow that spilled across the cocoon—and wrapped it in a second shell, as if the original cocoon was being swallowed whole by something deeper.

Aylith’s breath was caught again.

She noticed another familiar energy among these two.

One, the dark energy, she recognized.

It was familiar, achingly so, something she held dear in the deepest corners of her memory.

’No... Just what kind of entity is he?’ Aylith staggered backward, eyes widening in surprise as she stared at the cocoon with a newfound light. Earlier, she was confused by Rex’s mystery. Now—she was afraid. ’This energy belonged to another one of my children. This dark energy belonged to the Black Omicron. How did he get it? Does connecting with me allow him to tap into my lineage? Is that how he gained access to these powers to make him stronger?!’

Like the other Gods, Aylith also decided to create her own people at one point.

People within her realm that she could govern and groom.

However, before she shaped those people—she knew they would need overseers to make sure that her dominance would be maintained. Beings who could govern in her name and wield her power. So, Aylith created the first entities.

Among them were the Lunaris, who now became the Lunirich Gods, the Black Omicron, and the White Omicron.

Each one was created with purpose.

Ever since her fall from power, the other of her children also distanced themselves from her.

All of them separated to become independent or sided with the Lunirich Gods.

It has been a long time since she saw the Black Omicron or the White Omicron.

She never expected that she would finally smell the Black Omicron’s presence again through Rex.

Before she could wrap her head around what was happening properly, both energies were sucked back inside, and the cocoon reappeared. Changed. Its surface was now a darker shade of silver, and the violent sparks of energy slithered across it like serpents made of lightning.

The energies began to merge.

Slowly at first, then faster, until the cocoon pulsed with a terrifying synchronicity.

A second discharge erupted. Stronger. Lilliana, standing at a distance, was hurled backward. She shifted mid-air, her werewolf form seamlessly came to be—and then she dug her claws into the moon’s surface to keep from being flung into the void.

Around her, the moon’s surface cracked and buckled.

Aylith braced herself, drawing more divinity from the blood circle to endure. The discharge cracked the moon’s surface wide open, great fissures splitting the pale stone. And then, before her eyes, the cocoon began to rise.

Higher and higher it climbed, the energy inside growing more chaotic, more destructive.

Even the very fabric of the weakened Sovereign Realm began to tear. Cracks splintered across the sky— and pieces of reality were pulled downward—eaten by the abyss of the Realm Degradation. The realm was dying around them, and the cocoon was the cause.

Aylith acted quickly.

She absorbed more divinity and cast a barrier around herself, around Lilliana, and around the star above.

And it was the right decision.

Soon, the energy reached its peak. And then, the Sovereign Realm shattered.

KABOOM—!

A cataclysmic explosion tore through the sky.

The cocoon exploded into a single, blinding pillar of light that shot skyward—and pierced through the broken realm with no end in sight. Lightning lashed out in every direction, each spark a whip of raw annihilation that decimated the moon’s surface, carving chasms and obliterating stone.

For a moment, the world became a dark silver nova.

A blinding, all-consuming brightness that erased every shadow and burned every eye that dared to look.

And when the light finally receded, it pulled inward, collapsing into itself like a dying star. The lightning died. The cracks in reality stilled. And there, hovering above the ruined moon, was a figure. He hung in the air like a god. Silent and radiant with the remnants of the power that had just been born.

His body was wreathed in a silver glow, the afterimage of the explosion still dancing across his skin.

Slowly, the light bled away and revealed the entity that had been reborn.

Rex emerged from the light, and he was no longer the same.

For a suspended moment, the figure above the ruined moon might have been mistaken for a stranger.

He was bigger now—not monstrous, but massive. His shoulders had broadened, his frame thickened, and his spine was straight and powerful. All of the deformities once caused by his werewolf blood had been shed away like dead skin, leaving only the good behind.

And what remained was something sharper. More refined.

An apex predator built not on rage, but on control and absolute strength.

His legs had reshaped entirely. The digitigrade stance of the wolf was gone—replaced by plantigrade limbs that let him stand like a man. Even then, the power coiled in those limbs was unmistakable. His sleek, dark fur was no longer rowdy and rough.

It was thicker now, layered and healthy—with agouti markings of solid black and deep red across his entire body. A darker saddle along his back, a lighter underbelly, and also black-tipped guard hairs that caught the faint moonlight like polished steel.

Now, his face was no longer a snout, but his own actual face.

Any wildness of the beast had been tempered into something far more dangerous and focused.

Both his chest and abdomen were human—sculpted with the kind of density that spoke of power beyond muscle. His crimson eyes remained, but within them swirled a slow, impossible vortex—colors shifting and blending, fragments of every energy he had ever commanded.

They were not just eyes anymore.

They were now windows that led to his powers.

His ears had grown larger, triangular, and forward-facing, alert to every sound in the broken realm. His horns were still present, but they were thicker now—like steel or like weapons forged with the moon as their material.

And his hands—his hands were new.

The curving claws that looked menacing had retracted, merging with his knuckles and also the back of his hands, turning the skin there thick and crimson, visible through the fur. And with a simple flex, that thick, armoured skin travelled through his fingers and burst outward into wicked, crimson claws.

Claws that were sharper and more lethal than anything he had ever wielded.

Even his fangs had changed. They sat hidden perfectly inside his mouth, cleaner and sharper than before, no longer a beast’s crude tools but a predator’s precise blades. Rex came with the components of a man and a werewolf.

And now, he was neither man nor wolf. He was both. He was far more.

Rex looked down at his new body that marked the birth of the Greater Lycan race.

He flexed once, unleashing a torrent of energy from his body and then plummeted at meteoric speed.

Crash—!

The air screamed as he fell—and when he struck the moon’s surface, the entire realm shuddered. The ground split. The sky trembled. And at the center of the impact, Rex rose to an upright posture; his new body humming with power.

"Not bad," He grinned. "I think I’m ready."
