The Invincible Full-Moon System Chapter 1961: Enjoying the Feast (2)

Sweet like cherry. Melt in the mouth. And fragrant like a magical rose.
Rex chewed on the heart like it was the best dish in the world—savouring each bite and even licking the blood that stained his lips. His thyroid cartilage moved up and down as the pieces of the heart moved down his throat and into his belly.
It was delectable, but not as delectable as the killing intent coming from the other Awakened Demigods.
Just the sight of him eating the heart of their comrades sent them mad.
And their killing intent doubled, turning into a heatwave that made him feel like in a sauna.
Rex looked straight at the man he suspected to be the leader, the man with pale blue eyes and silver short hair, Farhan. He licked his fingers while maintaining eye contact, a blatant taunt, and then smirked like a Demon, "Yummy."
Boom—!
Farhan’s body detonated with unkempt power; a shockwave of raw force that blasted all of the phantom wolves outward in a ring of shredded shadow. He gritted his teeth and shot skyward. Mayla and another Awakened Demigod surged after him.
Below, the rest still thrashed against the tide of fangs and claws, breaking free by inches.
But the three above had already locked their hateful glares on Rex.
Of course, the heavy anguish from losing their comrade was painful, but the most painful part was that this was supposed to be their last gold-star mission before they became Milinar. Their finish line from this military program, as well as their exit from the game of big risks.
It was really heartbreaking to think that their comrade died right before the fruit of their labour.
Rex had killed their comrade, and now he would pay.
Swish—!
A mark seared into existence on their chests—a carmine five-petaled clover that changed the air inside the pocket dimension. One that made Rex tilt his head a little, smile, and spread his arms aside, "Go on. Do something, will you?"
Enraged at Rex’s aloofness, they raised their hands in unison—and a massive oppression crashed down onto Rex’s shoulders. His spine buckled. The flowers around him shattered and spiraled upward, caught in a vortex of violent wind that encircled him completely.
Thorns, glowing petals, and blade-sharp gust wove together in a cage, sealing him inside.
<Notice: the Innate Law of the Crimson Flower Plain Dimension is suppressing the user!>
"Yes... That’s it!" Rex laughed in excitement. He watched his legs shaking from the sheer pressure and laughed even harder, thrilled that the Awakened Demigods finally took this seriously. "More! Make me struggle more! I need more pain!"
Above—Farhan, Mayla, and the third Awakened Demigod dissolved into wind.
Each one merged with the vortex; their bodies became indistinguishable from the storm, utterly invisible to any eye or sense. High Milinar Ligneas gave them this pocket dimension, and its power was for the duration of the mission, would be accessible to them.
It was an added advantage as Rex would be suppressed in this pocket dimension.
And the only way to free this suppression was to leave, which was easier said than done.
Farhan and his comrades could see Rex clearly from the vortex; the strong gust blew past their intangible bodies like they were on with it. At the center, Rex was hunched, head snapping left and right—it was the perfect image of cornered prey.
But they knew better than to believe it; the act was obvious.
Only morons would fall for it, especially after what Rex shouted earlier; the sheer thrill of battle that he possessed made it clear that, like them, he was born in this kind of situation. But unlike them, his body and mind had adapted to take pleasure in it.
Savour the pain, the uncertainty, and the cold stroke of death.
Regardless, Farhan and his comrades attacked anyway—but they exercised utter carefulness.
Relentless and synchronized.
Like a predator sizing up another predator.
Farhan materialized from the ground behind Rex, manifesting from nothing but the wind, with his ice-sleek sword already mid-swing. The blade raked across Rex’s back in a spray of blood, leaving a very deep cut that touched the bone.
Before the pain could settle, Mayla came like a bullet from the vortex.
Her feet crashed against the side of Rex’s face with a crack that echoed across the plain.
And the third Awakened Demigod materialized above and hurled a lightning spear that cut through the air with a high-pitched scream. It punched through Rex’s stomach, but his thick skin stopped the spear from piercing deep.
But Mayla was already there; her heel slammed the spear’s butt and drove it clean through Rex’s torso.
It stabbed the ground behind Rex and cracked the ground.
Almost instantly, the inflicted wounds smoked.
Each one began to heal instantly; tissue knitting with obscene speed.
Considering that their own energies marked each wound deeply, any regeneration would be weakened to the point of barely healing the wounds. But it didn’t; their target’s regeneration remained vigorous, making them understand why he was confident.
However, Rex wasn’t expecting this at all.
He laughed out loud at the sight of his healing wounds.
Now that his Divinity Points have crossed the ten-thousand mark, he is no longer categorized as a weakling Demigod. No longer needed to rely on his superior physical strength to kill someone. He could now use energy-based attacks and actually deal damage.
Even High Milinar Alexander has around twenty-four thousand Divinity Points.
Rex has half that now, which puts him closer to the High Milinar Alexander’s strength.
Compared to these Awakened Demigods, who weren’t anywhere near even Manvac, Rex was superior.
And the fact that his regeneration was working normally confirmed that.
Just that realization alone made him laugh harder; he was one step closer to becoming a threat.
Become someone who even the inhabitants of the Blood Moon Realm wouldn’t treat lightly.
Farhan and his comrades, trained for this kind of situation, adapted. Commanding the Innate Law of the pocket dimension again, they summoned thorny roots that exploded from the ground and coiled around Rex’s legs, his arms, and his body—the thorns along their lengths dug deep and lodged inside his flesh firmly.
In the same heartbeat, all three materialized from the wind at different angles.
The third Awakened Demigod appeared above, spear aimed at Rex’s chest.
He saw Rex shift his torso to make the spear miss a fatal strike, so he adapted mid-thrust, rerouted the spearhead downward. It impaled through Rex’s thigh, pinning muscle to earth in a burst of red—all the way until the spearhead stabbed the ground.
Mayla came from behind and scaled Rex’s back like a predator mounting prey.
Her claws sank into the sides of his neck and wrenched outward, but Rex’s skin was ridiculously tough.
She strained, tendons standing out on her forearms, but the flesh resisted every inch.
It would take a good moment to completely tear his neck open.
Farhan appeared at the front, slithering out from the ground and driving his ice-sleek sword toward Rex’s heart. But at the last second, Rex shifted enough for the blade to scrape his ribs and missed the vital chamber by a finger’s width.
Cold radiated from the steel and numbed the tissue around it.
His heart could feel the chill, but it wasn’t pierced, and that’s all that matters.
For a frozen second, all three Demigods were latched onto him at once—sword in his chest, claws deep in his neck, and a lightning spear through his thigh and charged his insides. Rex hung in the middle of it, pinned and bleeding with the vortex howling around them, but he was still smiling.
"Is that all you got?" Rex grinned savagely.
Blood leaked from his lips and the wounds across his entire body, and yet he still grinned.
Still acted like he was on top of this.
"For killing one of us," Farhan pushed his sword deeper, all the way until the hilt touched Rex’s chest. "Know that there’s no chance for you to escape this. For killing one of us, we’ll make sure you suffer a horrendous death."
"I don’t know who you are," Mayla’s arms bulging with muscles. "But you’re dying today!"
"Please..." Rex’s voice wobbled; the claws reached deeper into his neck—and made him gargle on his own blood. "Look at my face. Do you think I’m someone who was about to die? Do you really think I feel threatened?"
Farhan’s brows furrowed.
He could tell that Rex didn’t feel like he was in a dire situation at all.
And it was worrying. Very worrying.
"Mortals, Demigods, and Gods had threatened to kill me. Say that they would kill me. Believe that they would be the ones who’d succeeded," Rex laughed with a mixture of snarling; his sharp fangs poked out and ready to savour more flesh. "Do you want to guess where they are right now?"
"Don’t underestimate us!" Farhan roared.
"Underestimate you...?" Rex’s eyes flared crimson, and his regeneration surged—so violently that the spear, claws, and blade buried in his flesh began to shriek; their metals cried out in a sound steel should never make. He fixed his gaze on Farhan, and when he spoke, the name dropped like a hammer: "Farhan, how can I underestimate you when I know exactly how strong you are?"
"What...?" Farhan’s eyes widened.
Right now, he was on a secretive mission that only his squad and High Milinar Lagneas knew.
In fact, the squad that was sent for this mission had only been chosen recently.
And the one who made the decision was High Milinar Lagneas directly.
Nobody should know that they were the ones sent to probe—or assassinate Rex, so there should not be anyone who could tell Rex about them. And yet, his own name came out of Rex’s mouth, which shocked him completely.
Rex’s eyes then turned to the others.
"Mayla, and..." He turned to the third Awakened Demigod. "Guarani. A unique name, yours was."
Every single one was shocked as Rex called out their real names.
And then, his eyes returned to the shocked Farhan, "I didn’t underestimate you. But you did."
Swish—!
Just then, Farhan’s eyes snapped to his arm and saw a crown mark, and it was glowing.
He turned to the others and saw the same crown mark on the third Awakened Demigod and Mayla.
’What...? When did he mark us?’ Farhan’s mind searched for the answer frantically, trying to find the moment when Rex could do this. ’The only time we got close enough for him to mark us was when we attacked him earlier. Don’t tell me he marked us in that split-second time!’
For Rex to mark them, he would need to touch them.
Airborne marking would require energy, and energy would most certainly be picked up by them.
So, it must have direct contact.
And the only time Rex could do that was when they attacked him earlier, but none of them realized it.
’But what does this mark do?’ Farhan frowned and then shook his head. ’No, I need to kill him right now!’
"Aled!! Damn, you bastard!"
Instinctively, Farhan looked over his shoulder and saw another of his comrades break free.
He had killed the last phantom wolf that occupied him and broken free the hold of the Almighty Bearing.
Another Awakened Demigod was joining the fight—and he roared when he saw the corpse of the one Rex killed earlier. His eyes went wide in anger, and without hesitation, his eyes shifted to Davina and Lilliana, who were sitting silently in the distance while watching the battle unfold.
Since Rex killed one of them, he would return the favour twofold by killing the sisters.
Blindly, the Awakened Demigod roared and charged straight at the sisters.
He lunged skyward, and a massive flaming hammer manifested in his hands.
Like a berserk killing machine, he swung the flaming hammer overhead straight at the sisters.
"Let’s see how you would feel after I burned your whores alive!!"
BOOM—!
