In the quiet Larta City, Roger and his underlings Ardi and Jack were working in the abandoned Silverbell Street. Ardi and Jack get into a dispute leading to discipline from Roger. Ardi is sent to the bunker to see Clarissa, and Jack goes to check the warehouse. Roger takes a nap, but wakes to find Jack missing from the warehouse. He discovers all his men have vanished, and a brutal scene awaits him in the bunker. A mysterious, blood-soaked figure appears outside.

While a pack of wolves hunts as cursorial predators in the wild, relying on endurance, werewolves, as supernatural beings intrinsically linked to wolves, possess a more evolved predatory instinct. They have transcended mere endurance hunting, becoming apex predators perfectly adapted for ambush and brutal, direct confrontation rather than prolonged chases, as no other living being can match their stamina.

Tonight, Rex embraced this evolved instinct. Strength, the element of surprise, and the driving rain all aligned to support his chosen approach.

Unlike his methods in the Spirit Realm, Rex lacked the patience for conventional means to achieve his objectives. It had always been a race against time, but this instance, perhaps because Adhara was involved, felt more urgent. Every passing second was sheer agony.

He lived in fear of a notification announcing Adhara's demise. He had poured blood and sweat into saving Nivellen out of a debt for her protection against Chaos. However, his feelings for Adhara were entirely different.

He vividly recalled her strong will, the captivating beauty of her anger, and the unyielding passion in her eyes. The thought of these qualities being extinguished drove him to madness.

Rex felt he owed Adhara more than mere gratitude for keeping him grounded since university; he had also vowed to ensure her safety. She was his closest confidante, the sole individual to whom he could reveal anything.

There was nothing he wouldn't do for her, regardless of the cruelty or immorality involved, as long as it meant keeping her safe.

More importantly, he hadn't yet expressed his appreciation for her excellent performance as the Female Alpha. He was aware of the events that transpired in his absence.

Evelyn and Gistella had provided him with every detail. He knew how Adhara strategically delayed Sven, successfully preventing Princess Selene and her forces from receiving any aid, and how she even learned from Sven. She truly excelled as the Female Alpha, destined to be the strongest in his absence, especially considering the limited assistance she received from him.

Rex yearned to convey this to her, knowing how much those words would mean. To do so, however, she needed to survive the Lunirich Gods.

Therefore, when an opportunity presented itself, as it did tonight, he would seize it without hesitation. After all, Zev's reliability was not guaranteed, and there was also the matter of the Sudden Quest. The System ensured that all passive skills and abilities acquired through devouring became permanently his.

His ultimate objective was to master the predominant energy of the God Realm, a goal guaranteed by the sudden quest. Consequently, his focus remained on acquiring valuable passive skills and absorbing abilities from those he devoured. While Pale Defenders were prime targets, expanding his selection options was never a bad idea.

Rex surveyed the entire warehouse complex, identifying all the individuals he intended to eliminate. After devouring Shadow's corpse and acquiring the Stealth Oustification, effective for ten hours, he silently departed. The Steel Oustification rendered him nearly untraceable, complementing his abilities and compensating for any weakness in hiding his presence.

Rex initially intended to eliminate those in the underground sections first, but the item required to access them without using the main entrance was prohibitively expensive, costing fifteen million gold. Normally, accumulating such a sum would pose a significant challenge. However, this was not the case in the God Realm.

Eliminating Godlings yielded not mere hundreds of thousands, but millions of gold from each kill.

Rex proceeded to the backyard and infiltrated one of the two portals located there. Caught completely off guard by his sudden appearance, the thugs within the confined space were stunned. Rex's obsidian steel claws found their throats, tearing out their hearts before they could react. Before a single drop of blood could reach the floor, he had already stored them in his inventory.

His relentless assault continued into the backyard, where a small group of thugs were stationed. Both were engrossed in a game, idly passing the time. Such complacency was rare on Silverbell Street following past events, contributing to their lack of vigilance. This was particularly true since their superior was occupied elsewhere.

Rex advanced at a steady pace. None of them detected his approach, thanks to the Stealth Oustification rendering his presence as light as a feather. Furthermore, the torrential downpour concealed his every move.

Even if he had been humming or singing as he approached these thugs, they would have remained oblivious until his claws were already at their necks.

Within the confines of the warehouse, Rex brought an end to the wandering thug. Leveraging the gold he had diligently accumulated, he procured the necessary item to infiltrate the subterranean chamber, where he subsequently eliminated every thug present.

Observing Roger's passage from below, Rex made his move, emerging to dispatch the remaining adversaries.

The operation unfolded seamlessly.

Not a single thug managed to mount any resistance.

This was not due to their lack of strength; rather, they were caught completely off guard, never anticipating an attack from a customer. Furthermore, they were unaware that this particular customer possessed knowledge of the hidden portals concealed within every section of the warehouse.

Before Roger could comprehend the situation, he found himself as the sole survivor.

"A fitting night for rain, wouldn't you agree?" Rex inquired, remaining immersed in the downpour.

"What…" Roger gaped at Rex, momentarily stunned, then blinked and clenched his jaw. "You orchestrated this? You're the one responsible for their demise?! I fail to grasp the reason. I believed our conflict was resolved."

One of his subordinates had provoked Rex, but amends had already been offered.

Rex had appeared to accept this resolution, evidenced by his breaking of Ardi's wrist.

Yet, for reasons unknown, he returned and enacted a massacre.

"Indeed, our conflict was settled."

"Then why—?!"

"Merely a matter of being in the wrong place at the wrong time," Rex stated, opening his eyes and lowering his head. His gaze, crimson and blazing, intensified under the heavy rain, fixing upon Roger with a lethal intensity. "Moreover… Is a reason truly necessary for taking a life? What if my desire alone suffices?"

"I understand…" Roger's expression twisted into a grimace.

He drew his exquisitely crafted green sword from its scabbard, gripping it firmly with both hands.

Despite his outwardly impassive demeanor, his heart pounded with apprehension.

'What exactly is he…?' A cold bead of sweat traced a path down Roger's face. 'Never mind his ability to bypass my senses and slaughter my men. How can he project such overwhelming killing intent? He appears young, and feels young. How is this possible?'

Roger's brows drew together in confusion.

He had personally ended the lives of billions with his blade. Within his domain, his bloodlust was unparalleled.

However, for some inexplicable reason, the killing intent radiating from Rex far surpassed his own.

'I doubt his kill count exceeds mine significantly,' Roger's eyes widened. 'Could he… Could he have injured a deity?'

Rex observed the dawning comprehension on Roger's features.

"You need not lift a finger." Rex turned, his attention momentarily resting on the sole remaining survivor as an afterthought. "You possess nothing I desire, and I harbor no intention of ending your life. Simply remain inactive. Continue your day as usual." He waved a single finger in a lazy circle, gesturing towards the carnage, the spilled blood, the pervading silence. "Efface this event from your memory.

"I am a newcomer to this realm. A visitor. I wish to avoid any entanglements." he added.

It seemed ironic that Rex would claim a desire to avoid trouble, immediately after the destruction he had wrought upon the other thugs.

However, his statement held undeniable truth.

It was equally true that he had no intention of killing Roger.

Examining Roger's status window revealed no skills or passive abilities that piqued Rex's interest.

Roger was a swordsman, a master of the blade, and his entire being revolved around his sword, a style that fundamentally clashed with Rex's own combat approach. Perhaps it was the werewolf within him speaking, but Rex harbored a strong aversion to employing weapons, unless they were clawed gloves or truly unavoidable.

More crucially, he had accumulated sufficient 'bodies' to fulfill the requirements of the Sudden Quest.

Eliminating Roger was thus unnecessary.

"You must realize I cannot comply with that request," Roger stated, tightening his grip on his sword and assuming a defensive posture. Verdant energy surged from his core, coursing through his arms to envelop the blade. "Though it may not seem apparent, the individuals you annihilated… they were dear to me. Consequently, I cannot simply overlook this act."

"A pity…" Rex spread his arms wide. "Proceed. I shall conclude this swiftly."

"Five Sword Air-cutting Hurricane. First Form!"

Swoosh—!

Like a swift gust of wind, Roger closed the distance between them instantaneously, reaching Rex.

Despite the slick surface of the ground, made treacherous by the rain, it did not impede his formidable speed.

"Five Sword Thrust!"

Roger concentrated his energy into the tip of his sword, executing a ferocious lunge. The blade bypassed Rex's defenses, piercing his abdomen—only to be halted by a crimson energy. It was visible, yet intangible to his touch.

'He's a visitor. That implies he's not proficient in this realm's energy. Victory is within my grasp!'

A smirk playing on his lips, Roger twisted the sword, producing a sound akin to shattering glass.

From the tip of his sword, a surge of Qi fanned outwards, splintering into five spinning blades that converged on Rex simultaneously from all directions. 'He can't sense my Qi, I'm certain. He's a visitor,' Roger mused, his eyes flaring with a sudden, keen excitement. 'His sole advantage was surprise. In a head-on confrontation, he's vulnerable!'

Rex admitting that was a misstep.

Now, Roger intended to exploit that glaring vulnerability to its fullest.

However, the situation was far from straightforward.

Clang—!

Roger's eyes widened in shock.

Just as the five spinning swords were poised to strike Rex from every angle, his body contorted in an impossibly fluid motion. His reaction was like a phantom's, and before Roger could even process it, all the incoming blades were expertly deflected.

Some of them even fractured under the impact.

The moment the crimson Qi around his own sword dissipated, the unleashed momentum propelled him forward.

Gritting his teeth, he spun and unleashed a flurry of sword strikes. His assaults unfolded in a flawless sequence—each cut surgically precise, each thrust imbued with potent intent. His fluid movements were a testament to his profound mastery, the culmination of years dedicated to the Way of the Sword. Yet, it proved insufficient.

Rex, with a clap of his hands, intercepted the descending blade between his palms.

Five more swords erupted from Roger's control, but the outcome was identical.

All were effortlessly parried.

"Employing my perceived weakness. Astute," Rex stated, standing tall and breaking into a smile that revealed his sharp fangs. "But do you truly believe I wouldn't devise a countermeasure for such a deficiency?"

Roger's eyes flickered, and it was then he observed that the falling raindrops ceased their descent mere inches from Rex; they seemed to halt, as if encountering an invisible barrier.

This subtle defense was, naturally, his manifestation of the Law of Misdirection.

Rex couldn't preemptively sense the incoming strikes, but the instant they impacted the Law he had subtly woven around his form, he could react. This Law granted him merely a fraction of a second—the attacks could breach it almost instantaneously, but with his extraordinary reaction speed, that sliver of time was all he required.

A golden disc, previously concealed, hurtled in swiftly from the flank.

It impacted the momentarily stunned Roger from his side, snapping several ribs and forcing a gush of blood from his mouth.

"You should have heeded my inactivity," Rex declared, his form undergoing a gradual, monstrous transformation under Roger's aghast gaze. "But the opportunity has passed."

Meanwhile, Bellana bit her lower lip, her gaze fixed on the portal as she stepped through it once more.

She knew her objective was to ascertain the portal's destination within the Cavity, yet she found herself unable to resist this course of action. Rex had claimed he'd forgotten something in the car—an obvious fabrication. Furthermore, a considerable amount of time had elapsed, and he still hadn't reappeared.

"What exactly is he occupied with?" Bellana voiced her thoughts aloud.

Moving with caution, she exited the private chamber and proceeded towards the main entrance.

Upon emerging on the other side, her breath hitched in her throat.

"Unable to heed a warning, are we? Let me tell you this… excessive curiosity can lead to one's demise, you understand."
