After a difficult battle, Onyx devoured the remains of the Warlord while Sithrik expressed concerns about her usefulness. Apollo reassured Sithrik of her importance to the team. Later, Onyx experienced a vision that revealed she could not accompany Apollo home. She made Apollo promise to agree to Sigismund's request, to allow herself to be injured, and to not speak her name aloud, before they shared a passionate farewell kiss.

Unknown Galaxy:

A large figure sat atop a palanquin, its body distorted by a large sheet surrounding it. It suddenly looked up at the roof of the palace and frowned. "I just lost a chosen?" She announced surprised.

From the palanquin to her left, she heard someone call out. "Which one? You have a few on rotation right now, correct?"

"The Emoth Warrior. The one with the immortal body technique I bestowed upon it." The Large figure declared, prompting some murmurs to emerge around the room. There were no secrets here. Amongst equals.

"Really? That is surprising. The foe doesn’t usually have the ability to kill fast enough for that. Which battle field did he perish on? I shall send reinforcements from my own Hozbalk Clan." A voice sounded from the other side of the room.

The figure looked up in the direction her chosen had died and grew confused. "It perished in a resource galaxy? Most unusual."

Hearing that, the surrounding figures let out a few giggles at the absurd declaration.

"Really? And how many years did you spend cultivating that technique only for it to be squandered by a pathetic male in the middle of nowhere?"

The figure sighed. "Two hundred years... It could be worse though. I recall you wasting five hundred years on your impervious will technique only for a chosen to have its head exploded the next day."

The surroundings giggled once more, but the banter went no further. There was no need. Some steps need to take place now. First she needed to gather more information about the galaxy her chosen had died in. To make sure it was not a true threat to the Empire.

And she also needed to begin looking for another suitor to add to her harem and from amongst them. Find out which would be best to wield her next cultivated technique in her name.

...

Onyx arrived back at the Bunker not long after parting with her mate. Upon doing so she heard Astra boot back up.

"Onyx? Query. How was your battle? Did you succeed? Where is Apollo?"

Onyx continued to walk through the ship and replied. "Apollo is fine. We killed the Warlord. But something has come up and we need to leave now. Are you ready for flight?"

Astra took a few moments to reply before her lights came back on. "Yes. Shields are active. Engines are fully operational and hull integrity is at 97.88912% Acceptable parameters for flight considering how long I have been inoperative."

"Perfect. Activate stealth tech as the humans will shoot anything they see leaving the atmosphere."

"Understood."

The ground began to shake as a large body began to unearth itself after thousands of years of isolation of solitude.

A large ship in the shape similar to a large cross slowly began to appear. Its large engines pulsed a light blue as it began to remove itself from the ground for the first time in thousands of years.

Roots of dead trees were still clinging to its body, begging it to stay, but it broke them easily. The ships mass too much for them to hold onto.

Astra then initiated light refraction on the shield, bending the light around the ship’s body so it would appear invisible to the primitive ships that could be now sensed in orbit thanks to not being trapped under all that soil.

Astra then left the planet’s atmosphere in no time. Just as Onyx opened a hidden section of the ship and proceeded to the cockpit. At which point she proceeded to just sit down in a wavy chair and looked out at the Spartari fleet.

"Where is our first destination, Onyx? I have this Galaxy roughly marked out, but not enough to chart myself."

Onyx’s eyes lingered on the fleet for a few moments. Annoyed. She wanted Apollo to be inside her. She wanted to be back in his Mindspace. But instead this happened and now she had to go...

Still, there was nothing she could do. She saw too many fixed points; to change anything now would be dire. It could endanger Apollo. And she would never do anything that could endanger her mate again. Even if it meant he would truly be alone without hive presence for the first time in his life...

Onyx then stood up and walked over to a map of the Galaxy that Astra was projecting in layers.

It took Onyx a few moments of scrolling through the map up, down, left and right before finding her location. "There. We need to go there."

"Understood." Astra spoke and all of a sudden space began to distort outside the front of the ship. "Activating Wormhole Tunnels. Expected arrival. Two hours."

The moment Astra finished her announcement, she ship collapsed into the wormhole before it, disappearing from the local star system without a single trace it had ever been there. Well except one...

...

"The bunker Nerissa and Rhapso mentioned should be over here."

"If the tech is as old as they are proclaiming, this could be a significant find. Especially those Gauss weapons. The ones we confiscated from those Psionic users were already seriously impressive. If we can reverse engineer the technology..."

The words need not be said as all the Praetorians present were excited by the prospect. However, as they arrived at the bunker’s location, they became confused. Not by the fact they couldn’t find the bunker’s entrance, but by the fact a giant cross shaped hole was now in the ground.

It was obvious something had occurred, but they had no idea what. So they could only take speculative guesses, which irked many of them greatly as their collective Intrigue couldn’t be sated with the knowledge of the truth.

...

Opening my eyes, I got a serious case of Deja-vu as I looked up and saw Sithrik looking down at me, her hand brushing through my hair. I went to speak, only to get an unexpected tongue bath from Sapphire who was laying on my other side.

"Eugh! Chonkimus! My mouth was open. That was so much drool! Eugh!" I declared and attempted to wipe my face from the slobber, but clearly Sapphire was not a fan of my complaining and proceeded to double down and give me a slobber bonanza.

I just resigned to my fate and let it happen, which wasn’t as bad this time since I made sure my mouth was closed.

Once Sapphire was satisfied, she released her weight off my body and allowed me to sit up. The moment I did my stomach began howling for sustenance. "How long was I out of it for this time?" I turned to Sithrik. It felt longer as apart from the hunger, I had healed up quite nicely.

"Three days." Sithrik stated calmly. "You woke up at one point yesterday, looked around the room and proceeded to declare, ’Fuck it, I’m going back to sleep.’ But other than that, you have just been resting."

"Oh... I vaguely remember that." I said before looking around the room. I remembered this room. I only used it for a day, but this was the room given to me in Amberrock. The fact it was still here was a pretty good indication as to how the war was going.

Not that I cared particularly at this moment. I had one thing on my mind and I was going to get it.

Springing up out of bed. I walked to the door, only for Sithrik to call out. "Apollo. Wait! While you know I do not care about moving around unclothed, I think the other humans might care if you walk around like that."

I looked down at myself. "Oh hahaha!" I began to laugh as I was only wearing a shirt and no pants like a famous bear from my past called...

I suddenly frowned. I couldn’t remember the name. That was annoying considering the amount of random other stuff I could.

"Apollo? Is everything alright? You look angry?"

"What?" I was suddenly snapped back to reality at Sithrik’s concerned tone. "Oh, no. Sorry. I just got lost in my thoughts. Come and help me find some pants.

...

’Willis? Willy? No, a bear without pants called Willy would be a bit too much on the nose... Wilbur? Fuck this is going to be torture.’ I thought to myself as I inhaled food that was being put before me.

I ignored the crowd that was watching me eat. I didn’t mind. They kept on giving me food while I focused on this important task.

’Does it even begin with W? Wiley? No, that’s something else. ACK! Why has this come to me now!?! Curse ye Mind! And your inner machinations... Walter?’

I got lost in my thoughts that I didn’t realise when the surroundings turned silent and only came to as a person sat opposite me. A person I recognised. A face I remembered from the party on Ecumenopolis one.

King Sigismund. The Military King of the Spartari Empire. A man that was considered one of the strongest humans alive and should be given great respect to. The correct thing to do was to stand in his presence. To salute and wait for his permission to sp-

"Oh hey! It’s been a while since the queen’s party. How have you been? How is Jocasta? Is she taking care of my guy Ronnie?"
