Nolan, Evalyn, and Eira entered the heavily guarded Lionheart family treasure chamber. After Evalyn disabled the ancient traps, Nolan sensed a mysterious fluctuation emanating from the display case that once held the Divine Sword of Luminus. He retrieved and examined the sword, which surprisingly showed no resistance. Nolan then revealed that Evalyn's ancestor's inheritance was inaccessible due to her not finding the correct method. Using a purple light, Nolan opened a path within the display case, and all three were pulled into it.

Evalyn was suddenly pulled by an unseen force. Her vision went all blurry, showing only a bizarre, swirling tunnel. Moments later, an absolute darkness enveloped everything, as if light itself had been extinguished.

"Ugh…" A searing pain shot through Evalyn's head as she slowly regained consciousness. Her eyesight was initially unfocused, but it gradually cleared.

"...What happened? Where am I?" she mumbled, pressing her temples. Her gaze swept around, and she froze.

She found herself in a forest, an incredibly dense one at that, with trees reaching astonishing heights of ten to fifteen meters.

"Huh? Where the heck am I!?" In a state of panic, Evalyn scrambled to her feet. However, the instant she stood, a throbbing pain returned to her head. Her vision swam, causing her to stumble back, nearly falling.

Then, something firmly grasped her arm. Turning in surprise, Evalyn saw Nolan smiling at her.

"Nolan?" she weakly called out, a wave of relief washing over her. "Thank goodness you're here too. I wouldn't know what to do otherwise."

Nolan released her arm and remarked casually, "I understand your concern. I'm also surprised to find myself in this mysterious place." He observed their surroundings with a curious expression. "It appears we have traveled to the past."

Evalyn's face went rigid. "The past? What do you mean?" She took two steps back, her expression laced with disbelief.

"The past. Don't you grasp my meaning?" Nolan asked, rolling his eyes.

"That's not it!" Evalyn vehemently shook her head, clenching her fists. "I mean, how can you be so sure we're in the past? And how did we even get here?"

"It's because I detected a peculiar fluctuation within the glass case where the Divine Sword of Luminus was previously housed," Nolan explained calmly. He retrieved the sword from the ground and presented it to her. Evalyn accepted it, briefly tracing its surface with her fingers before sheathing it.

"A peculiar fluctuation?" Her brow furrowed in thought.

"Yes," Nolan confirmed with a nod and proceeded to elaborate on everything. Evalyn listened intently, her features shifting from astonishment to confusion, and finally to utter disbelief.

"S-So… you're telling me my ancestor orchestrated all of this?" she inquired, her voice trembling. "Solely for the descendant whom the Divine Sword of Luminus would deem worthy… for me?" She swallowed hard. "And this 'path' you speak of is… a journey back to the past?"

"Correct," Nolan affirmed. Even Nolan himself hadn't anticipated this initially. The fluctuation he had detected was connected to space and time. As the Singularity of Chaos, his expertise lay precisely in these two domains, making him exceptionally sensitive to anything related to them. Since the fluctuation originated from the display case of the Divine Sword of Luminus, he deduced it was a contingency planned by Evalyn's ancestor specifically for her.

Evalyn was rendered speechless, unsure how to respond. This was the most unbelievable event she had ever encountered. Time travel was widely considered a myth, a belief Evalyn herself had held. Yet, that conviction had now crumbled. She had, in fact, experienced time travel.

She wished she could dismiss Nolan's claims as mere fantasy, but she knew he wouldn't deceive her in such a manner. Despite his occasional jesting and teasing, Nolan would never resort to such an outlandish fabrication.

"There's something I need to ask," Evalyn stated with a heavy tone. "How did you discern a fluctuation in space and time within that glass case? Even my father and I never noticed anything." Though she didn't frequent the treasure room often, she had visited it at least twice, perhaps even three times in a single year. Her father and other members of the Lionheart family visited even more frequently, up to ten times annually, yet none had ever mentioned the fluctuation Nolan was referring to.

Nolan remained composed, as if anticipating her question. "I apologize. I have been keeping something from you," Nolan confessed, masking a look of guilt. "In truth, I have been deceiving both you and the others."

"Deceiving?" Evalyn's heart pounded. "W-What do you mean?"

Nolan paused briefly, then took a deep breath. "I can wield magic."

Evalyn: "???" She had braced herself for a confession of a truly unforgivable betrayal.

However, his statement was utterly beyond her comprehension. "Y-You can use magic? Are you joking?" she asked incredulously.

Too weary to offer further explanations, Nolan simply snapped his fingers. A small ball of fire materialized, hovering above his palm. Evalyn's eyes widened in pure shock.

"You can actually use magic! How is this possible?" she exclaimed, her voice amplifying. "No... that's not it!"

With a swift, deep breath, she compelled herself to regain composure, then fixed her gaze upon Nolan.

"Do you have any inkling of how significant this is? Magical talents are exceptionally valuable, even to the royal family. And you've concealed this for over a decade! Nolan, you..."

She yearned to vocalize, "You have betrayed your father and the imperial lineage!"

Yet, the words remained trapped within her throat.

Truthfully, her feelings transcended mere anger; disappointment was more fitting.

She and Nolan had shared a bond since their infancy.

For all this time, Evalyn had believed she understood him completely.

It transpired that she was mistaken.

Nolan possessed an astonishing capacity for secrecy, concealing himself from the world—and from her.

His combat prowess, his acumen for analysis, and now... this magic.

Evalyn found herself adrift, unsure how to process this revelation.

A profound sense of betrayal washed over her.

Unconsciously, tears began to gather at the edges of her eyes. She immediately lowered her head, shielding her expression.

Observing this, Nolan emitted a soft sigh, unsurprised by her reaction.

Nevertheless, he acknowledged this was the optimal course of action. Moving forward, he resolved to be more forthcoming.

Consequently, disclosing his magical capabilities to those closest to him—such as Seira, Rafine, and Evalyn—now would avert future shock.

Nolan advanced and drew Evalyn into an embrace. Evalyn attempted to break free, even pushing against him.

However, her strength was insufficient, and Nolan merely intensified his hold.

"I am sorry."

These were the sole words Nolan offered.

Evalyn remained silent, but her struggle gradually lost its vigor.

Nolan gently patted her back, offering an explanation: "I deliberately maintained secrecy because I wished to avoid entanglement in imperial politics. You must comprehend that if this information were to become public, it would precipitate significant turmoil within the palace. Hence, from the outset, I harbored no desire to reveal my abilities—not even to you."

He paused briefly, then continued in a more subdued tone.

"And please don't misinterpret my intentions. It doesn't signify a lack of trust in you. I merely aim to mitigate any potential future risks. Therefore... cease your weeping, won't you?"

Nolan loosened his embrace, tenderly wiping the tears from Evalyn's eyes.

Evalyn responded with a pout, a display of her irritation. Yet, she could not dispute the logic in Nolan's words.

A prince possessing extraordinary gifts like magic would undoubtedly incite considerable commotion within the imperial palace.

Sharon served as a prime illustration. As the third princess, she had already become a focal point for those aspiring to see her ascend as the next emperor.

Despite her status as Ragan's adopted daughter, her inherent potential remained formidable.

This was the primary reason Sharon had been assigned to Falling Star Academy. Beyond her training, it was Ragan's strategy to keep her distanced from the political machinations.

"I comprehend," Evalyn managed, her voice hoarse. "But in the future, refrain from such actions. Otherwise..."

She balled her fist and delivered a strike to Nolan's abdomen.

"Ugh."

Nolan doubled over, groaning in discomfort.

A sharp glint appeared in Evalyn's eyes.

"I will not forgive you. Do you understand?"

Nolan winced, accepting his fate.

"I understand," he conceded with resignation.
