The Hidden Extra: The Lazy Prince Refuses to Ascend The Throne Chapter 668 Rumors Spread as Fast as the Wind

"Have you heard the news?"
"What news?"
"Word is, the royal palace has launched a huge hunt for Prince Nolan and Princess Seira from the Great Velmora Empire!"
"What!? How could that be? Won't that risk starting a war?"
"I have no idea. But my brother at the palace says those two committed something awful... something beyond forgiveness."
Rumors swept rapidly across Altheris's capital. Even people kicking off their day caught wind of the pursuit for Nolan and Seira, igniting massive uproar throughout the city.
Folks wildly guessed at the cause of the manhunt. Regrettably, nobody grasped the palace's real aims.
In the end, the truth stayed shrouded in mystery, leaving all anxious and questioning.
…
Three hundred kilometers away from Altheris's capital rose a gorgeous, cutting-edge city called Miravelda.
A massive thirty-meter fortress wall encircled it, its vast expanse covering almost sixty square kilometers.
Over six hundred thousand inhabitants thrived inside, with the economy surging fast.
Traders from every region poured in to hawk their wares, as nearby farmers carted produce to sustain themselves.
"Wow… This city looks amazing," Seira whispered in wonder.

Even though the cities of the Great Velmora Empire were no less magnificent, she couldn't help but be amazed by the sight of Miravelda stretching out before her.
Furthermore, positioned on the southern continent, its climate, traditions, and residents' ways starkly contrasted the Great Velmora Empire.
Nolan softly pulled back his hood, eyeing the city with matching awe.
"You're right. This city is truly beautiful," he murmured.
His left hand grasped Seira's, while his right steered the horse onward.
They had journeyed nonstop through the night.
The horse seemed totally worn out, urgently craving rest.
Nolan felt no fatigue whatsoever, yet his sister did. Despite her efforts to stay composed, exhaustion etched clearly on her face.
Next, Nolan guided Seira and the horse to a plain inn.
He secured the horse to a post and stroked its head.
"Be good. Rest up well. We'll head out again tonight, got it?"
The horse nudged him playfully and leaned in fondly.
Nolan led Seira in and rented two rooms.
Keys in hand, he faced his sister. "Sleep now, Sister. No worries, it's secure here. Take all the rest you want."
Seira furrowed her brow, asking uncertainly, "Aren't you sleeping too?"
Nolan patted her shoulder comfortingly. "I have some things to look into first. You rest."
Seira paused quietly, then sighed deeply and nodded feebly.
"I get it. Stay safe and return soon, alright?"
"Alright."
Saying nothing more, Seira unlocked her door, entered, and shut it.
Nolan didn't depart immediately. A finger snap conjured a barrier over Seira's door in an instant.
Yet the next moment, it dissolved completely, as though never there.
Nolan tucked his left hand in his pocket, descended from the second floor, and exited the inn.
A fresh breeze grazed his cheeks. He scanned both directions, opting first for breakfast.
After all, no food had passed his lips since last night, his mind fixed solely on perfecting his scheme.
His gaze soon fixed on a nearby breakfast stand.
The vendor hawked cookies and soy milk. Nolan grabbed two cookies and a cup of soy milk, then settled roadside to eat in peace.
Passersby strolled past, ignoring him entirely, clueless that this roadside figure was the Great Velmora Empire's prince.
That made perfect sense. Nolan had transformed his looks.
White hair now crowned his head, red eyes gleamed. A close look revealed his features echoing his twin sister, Elina.
As twins, Nolan essentially mirrored Elina's male counterpart.
"Heard the royal palace put up a bounty?"
"Yeah, I did! Pretty sure it's for capturing Prince Nolan Lorian and Princess Seira, huh? Rumor has it they violated laws and face harsh punishment. Things are heating up. You in?"
"Count me in! Ten million Rune coins as reward! Snag that, and I'm set for life!"
"Hahaha! You're dreaming big, but I agree. Let's search around the city. Who knows? Maybe they're hiding here."
Nolan's attention was snagged by the talk between the two men passing nearby.
'A bounty? Right on schedule,' he chuckled to himself while draining the last of his soy milk.
He crammed the cookie wrapper into the paper cup before hurling it toward the trash bin.
At that moment, a crow plunged from the heavens and perched upon his right shoulder.
COAK!
With a sharp caw, the crow raised its right leg, revealing a tiny scroll bound to it.
Nolan freed the scroll and examined its message. His expression stayed utterly composed, unmoved by the words within.
'Twenty thousand troops dispatched from the capital already? Gulvar's eagerness is showing,' he murmured, a subtle smile curving his lips.
Even so, none of this caught him off guard. He doubted Gulvar genuinely saw him as the perpetrator.
Regrettably, time offered no chance for more probing.
What he required was a patsy—somebody to bear responsibility for Aldrian's demise.
To be honest, Gulvar had it right. Nolan was indeed the killer.
"With Gulvar now in motion, nothing remains but to await the plan's unfolding. Don't fail me, Karakh. If you do…"
A chilling spark ignited in his scarlet gaze.
"You'll forfeit that chance for eternity."
…
Bang!
Gulvar pounded his fist against the table, rage burning his cheeks crimson. His breaths came in harsh gasps, his frame quaking uncontrollably.
"No sign of them yet? How can that be!? You pair of incompetents!"
Alex and Eldrin kept their heads bowed, silent and submissive.
Gulvar inhaled deeply, wrestling his fury into check.
"Hunt them down fast—find any method that works!"
Daring no rebuttal, they offered slight bows and fled the chamber, deserting the wrath-boiling Gulvar.
Massaging his temples, Gulvar grumbled, "Utter chaos…"
