Alex detected a potent aphrodisiac potion in Seira's wine glass, targeted at her during the incident with Aldrian. Interrogating server Karis revealed their location at the Seven Lights Inn, leading Alex, Eldrin, and Alina to rush there while suppressing details of the events. Meanwhile, Nolan and Seira fled across the grassland on horseback after Aldrian's death. They found the top-floor room in ruins, with Aldrian's corpse stabbed through by a dagger.

"Your Highness!" Alex yelled in alarm while charging forward.

Eldrin and Alina dashed after him without delay, their faces equally stricken with terror.

Alex dropped to his knees before Aldrian and examined his body, now utterly frigid.

The dagger was thrust deeply into his heart. The murderer had ended Aldrian's life with savage cruelty.

"Damn…" Alex clenched his teeth. "Who dared to do this!? Who!?"

His roar boomed across the chamber. Eldrin stayed mute, as Alina broke into sobs.

Her elder brother had perished so abruptly, without her even noticing.

"Alex, calm down," Eldrin uttered gravely. "We must inform His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen. But first, we have to uncover the killer's identity."

His tone chilled, surging with fierce killing intent.

Alex gave a somber nod. He checked Aldrian's corpse once more, then declared, "His body has stiffened and cooled. His Highness probably died over half an hour ago. Moreover…"

He seized the dagger's handle and extracted it cautiously, scrutinizing the carvings.

"These odd engravings on the dagger aren't from the Ancient Kingdom of Eron. The assassin most likely hailed from beyond our borders."

Eldrin's face grew darker. Various scenarios raced through his thoughts, leading him to whisper, "Perhaps a paid killer from another continent?"

Alex paused briefly before standing up slowly.

"That's quite possible. Yet one question lingers."

He faced the huge breach in the wall on the right and added, "This breach shows a fight occurred prior to His Highness Aldrian's demise. Given that His Highness was guarded by two powerhouses—the Grandmaster and the weapon spirit Void Reaver Disc—no common assassin could pull this off. What's your view?"

Eldrin pondered his statement and deemed it logical. The Grandmaster held another role: the Ancient Mage Flugar.

He had surpassed the Celestial realm, attaining the Beyond the World stage.

His strength was beyond doubt. Plus, the weapon spirit Void Reaver Disc was just as fearsome.

Logically, no average killer could eliminate Aldrian without unleashing havoc in the capital.

"Maybe another Beyond the World mage pulled it off?"

"I can't say. We need to confer with His Majesty the King," Alex answered with a heavy look.

Eldrin drew a deep breath and agreed. "Indeed."

The throne room typically lay silent at night, yet now it brimmed with crowds.

Ministers and generals assembled, faces stern and burdened.

Gulvar stood by the throne, his complexion ashen with rage.

"My son… Aldrian! Why… why did this befall you!?"

Melody wept bitterly, clutching Aldrian's still form.

She refused to accept her son's death. The boy she cherished, poured all dreams into, and saw as her beacon… Now he rested lifeless and icy before her.

Her spirit broke, tears flowing endlessly.

Karakh and Alina flanked Gulvar, grief etched on their features. Yet none spotted the subtle smirk playing on Karakh's mouth.

"Tell me… how did it come to this?" Gulvar demanded, voice thick with emotion.

A tempest of wrath boiled within him. As king, though, he forced restraint amid the gathered assembly.

Alex advanced, bowed his hands, and reported, "Your Majesty, Eldrin and I probed this from the start. We found that…"

He recounted all discoveries, including the aphrodisiac in Seira's wine.

He revealed his doubts and deductions too.

Gulvar heard it all quietly until grasping the full picture.

"So Aldrian slipped an aphrodisiac into Seira and brought her to the Seven Lights Inn?" he questioned icily, fury scarcely held back.

"Yes, Your Majesty. The staff confirmed Prince Aldrian booked the whole place to execute his plot undetected," Alex answered uneasily.

Dosing a foreign princess was vile. It risked igniting their fury and possibly war.

Shock rippled through ministers and generals at Alex's words. Their looks soured, picturing Aldrian's disgraceful deeds.

Gulvar caught their dismay and stated coldly, "Understood. Did you locate Seira?"

"No, Your Majesty. Princess Seira disappeared from the site; her location remains unknown," Alex responded deferentially.

Gulvar's brow creased. The events defied logic.

Aldrian schemed to drug Seira, but died himself. Seira had vanished like mist.

'Did she kill him?'

The idea struck Gulvar, but he rejected it swiftly.

Seira lay unconscious; she couldn't have. Thus, another party was at fault.

"Pardon the interruption, Your Majesty, but I hold unreported details," Eldrin cut in.

Gulvar glanced his way and nodded faintly.

"Proceed."

Eldrin moved ahead and explained, "I interrogated locals nearby. They mentioned an odd event in the capital roughly an hour back."

"Odd event?" Gulvar's eyebrows rose a bit. "Elaborate."

"Witnesses described two enigmatic beings clashing intensely. Their duel spared the capital true disorder, but the blasts petrified residents. And…"

Eldrin's face hardened as he went on, "One matched an elderly mage's look. I believe it was the Ancient Mage Flugar."

Eyes bulged in astonishment among the listeners.

Flugar's name rang familiar to ministers and top officials.

A legendary being from a millennium past, he safeguarded the Void Reaver Disc in the palace treasury.

His presence stayed secret initially—until Aldrian earned the artifact's approval.

Power-wise, Flugar stood unparalleled, among the mightiest in existence.

Gulvar's pulse raced as he pressed, "What became of him? Who faced him?"

Eldrin shook his head. "Opponent's identity eludes me. Descriptions note the other wrapped in spells. But surely—after a dense mist cloaked the heavens, both faded away. And…"

Eldrin nibbled his lip. "Following Prince Aldrian's fate, I'm convinced that mage has… perished."
