The Singularity of Light and the Singularity of Chaos clashed in a powerful aerial battle. The Singularity of Light unleashed a devastating attack, but the Singularity of Chaos effortlessly nullified it with his spatial abilities. After a brief struggle where the Singularity of Light's sword shattered a spatial barrier, the Singularity of Chaos evaded a fatal blow by seemingly vanishing. Realizing they were both growing stronger in secret, the Singularity of Light chose to retreat, vowing revenge. Meanwhile, Nolan pondered the Singularity of Light's retreat and the traitorous alliance between Duke Malvain and the Holy Empire of Valtanir, which was turning the tide of the battle on the Corvil Plains against Elina Lorian.

"Who are you… really?" Elina asked coldly, staring at the tall man standing beside Corvin.

The man didn't bother answering. He simply raised his massive sword and charged at her.

Clang!

Elina blocked the attack, but the impact sent her stumbling backward.

Before she could steady herself, the man was already on her again, swinging his sword down at her from above.

Elina's eyes widened. She quickly twisted her body to the side.

Boom!

The powerful blow cleaved through the ground where she had been standing just moments before.

Elina rolled away, then ran two meters before turning around and thrusting her sword forward.

Her eyes narrowed warily as she faced her opponent.

"Hahaha!"

Corvin burst out laughing at the sight.

"I never expected you, who were once so fierce, to be so thoroughly overwhelmed, Your Highness. How amusing!"

Elina gave him an indifferent look.

She really wanted to cut his lips off, but unfortunately, she couldn't afford to do that right now.

"Come on, don't take it so seriously," Corvin said casually as he walked toward her. "Two against one hardly seems fair, does it? How about I give you a chance? Five minutes."

He held up five fingers with a broad smile.

"You have five minutes to recover. After that, you'll have to fight him and defeat him."

He pointed at the tall man with his left index finger.

Elina didn't take his word for it. She maintained her fighting stance, trying to steady her breathing.

Seeing this, Corvin merely smiled. He clasped his hands behind his back and made no move to attack.

The tall man didn't attack either.

Elina furrowed her brow.

'What are they up to?' she muttered to herself. 'Could Corvin really be giving me time to rest?'

It was hard to imagine Corvin being so generous. And yet, that was exactly what was happening.

Taking a deep breath, Elina straightened her aching body and reached into a small pocket on the right side of her armor.

She pulled out a small vial of blue potion and uncorked it.

After taking a sip, she fell silent for a few seconds. Gradually, her fatigue faded away, as if it had never existed.

It was a special potion she'd obtained from the Blue Moon Trading House.

Before her departure, Shion had given her twenty bottles of the potion to keep on hand in case she ever got injured.

Elina hadn't expected she'd actually need them. She'd been so confident earlier that she wouldn't need them at all.

"Oh? A healing potion?"

Corvin looked surprised, then chuckled softly.

"I didn't expect you to be carrying such a treasure."

Healing potions were extremely expensive. A single bottle cost as much as an ordinary person's monthly salary.

Elina ignored his comment. She took a deep breath, then raised her sword and aimed it at Corvin and the tall man once again.

"Come on, let's go!"

Corvin simply smiled and glanced at the tall man.

As if he knew what she was thinking, the man tightened his grip on his massive sword, bent his knees, and dashed toward Elina.

He was fast. In the blink of an eye, he was already in front of her, swinging his sword sideways.

Elina took a step back and ducked just in time to dodge the attack.

She immediately spun around and kicked him in the stomach.

The man stumbled back a few steps but quickly regained his footing. He looked up and charged at her again.

Elina didn't wait around. She charged straight at him too.

And just like that, the two clashed again in a fierce battle.

"My Lord, the forces of the Holy Empire of Valtanir have arrived to provide assistance," Sergan reported respectfully.

Jason, who had been reading a document, looked up in surprise.

"They're already here? That was fast."

"Yes, my lord. They're currently fighting the imperial forces and helping the rebels."

Hearing this, Jason finally relaxed. A faint smile spread across his face.

"Good. So, how's the battle going? Which side has the upper hand?"

"It's hard to say for now, but the Holy Empire of Valtanir has ten thousand more troops than the imperial forces. They should have the advantage."

Jason's smile widened as he leaned back against the sofa.

"Hmm… Everything's going according to plan. Excellent," he muttered, rubbing his chin. "I hope Dariel and Adalen aren't lying to me. If they are…"

His eyes flashed with a terrifyingly cold glint.

"I won't hesitate to stab them in the back, even if it means killing myself."

…

That night…

The battle raged on, with neither side willing to back down. Cavalry and infantry clashed on the front lines, while mages and archers kept firing at Valtanir's forces.

Meanwhile, the priests weren't just standing around either. They continued casting holy spells to block the incoming magic and arrows.

Clang!

Elina was sent flying backward, crashing to the ground and rolling across the dirt.

The tall man immediately charged at her and leaped into the air, bringing his sword down with all his might.

Elina's eyes widened. With what little strength she had left, she forced herself to roll out of the way.

Thud!

The man's powerful strike slammed into the ground, barely missing her.

Elina quickly got back on her feet and backed away a few steps, panting heavily. Her face was pale, and she was clearly exhausted.

"Very impressive, Elina Lorian. Your stamina is truly extraordinary."

Corvin, who had been watching the fight from the sidelines, clapped his hands and laughed heartily.

"I underestimated you."

Elina wasn't the least bit pleased by his praise. Throughout the fight, Corvin had done nothing but stand back and watch without lifting a finger.

To her, his behavior felt like nothing more than mockery and an insult.

"All right, that's enough."

Corvin's expression turned cold.

"This war has dragged on for too long. Once you're dead, the imperial army will lose its morale."

As soon as he finished speaking, the tall man suddenly lunged at her.

Elina was caught off guard and quickly raised her sword to block the attack.

Clang!

Already exhausted, she couldn't withstand the impact and was sent flying backward, tumbling across the ground.

Before she could even get back up, the man was already beside her. He raised his sword and brought it down toward her.

As the blade came crashing down, Elina's eyes widened in fear.

Am I going to... die?
