After a strenuous encounter on the balcony, Evan levels up and allocates his new points to Pleasure. He then attempts to get some much-needed sleep, only to be woken by Nala and Jasmine, who overheard his activities with Kayla.

I closed my eyes again and turned toward the opposite side of the bed. Man, I really needed some sleep. What I wouldn’t give for the system shop to have something like an energy booster. Maybe some kind of potion that could instantly wake me up and make me feel like I had slept for twelve hours.

"So that’s why he’s sleepy." Nala chuckled. "Spent all your energy there?"

"How about you stop talking about it?" I mumbled.

"Oh, are you going to wear that, Jas?" Nala asked. "The beige one would look better."

"How about this one?"

"Mm... maybe?"

"No, no. I’ll wear the beige one like you said. I think it looks good." Jasmine glanced at herself in the mirror. "This one makes me look fatter."

"Nothing can make you fatter," I said while still lying down. "Do you not see yourself in the mirror?"

That finally got my attention when the system UI popped up. I cracked one eye open and stared at the notification. Five points for telling the truth, huh?

Five points just for telling her she looked good. Maybe I should compliment them more often. I wasn’t exactly great at that kind of thing, and when I thought about it, I realized I couldn’t even remember the last time I’d gone home with flowers or some other small gift.

Maybe I should fix that.

"Smooth talker," Jasmine said. "Now get up. We’re going to be late."

"Fine, fine, fine, fineee..." I groaned. "I’m up."

"And you’re still lying down."

"I’m..." I yawned before finally sitting up. "Happy?"

"Very. Meet us at the table, or you’re fired, Mr. Assistant." Nala smiled and waved at me before leaving the room.

"Uh..."

I dragged myself out of bed and headed for the bathroom before anyone could come back and physically pull me out.

The cold water against my face helped a little. Not much, but enough to make me feel like a functioning human being again. I washed up, brushed my teeth, ran my fingers through my hair, and stared at myself in the mirror for a few seconds.

I looked tired.

Really tired.

I left the bathroom and headed toward the living room, where the smell of breakfast was already filling the penthouse. When I stepped into the kitchen, I found Kayla and Kim helping Minne prepare everything.

Kayla was standing beside the counter, arranging some plates while Kim was helping Minne with the food. Minne looked completely focused on what she was doing, wearing her usual maid outfit despite my repeated attempts to convince her to wear something more casual around the house.

I walked over and gave Kayla and Kim each a quick slap on the ass.

Both of them jumped slightly.

"Hey!"

"Oh, morning," Kim said with a grin, apparently not too bothered by it. "Sunny-side-up. Minne’s special."

"Smells good."

Minne immediately became shy when I looked at her. "Thank you, Master."

I leaned over and kissed her cheek, which only made her blush harder, before looking toward the dining table.

"Extra plate, huh? Eleanor coming?"

"Yep," Jasmine replied as she came back into the living room. "I called her. By the way, have you seen my wireless charger thingie? I can’t find it anywhere."

"It’s on the coffee table," Nala answered as she came out of Tessa’s room. She looked around before frowning. "Hey, where’s Mik? And Tessa?"

"Tessa said she’d walk her a little in the corridor," Kim replied.

"Walking her in the corridor?" Nala shook her head with a smile. "Wow."

"She loves her," Kayla said. "From what I can see, anyway."

"Yeah." I nodded. "I think I’m her second favorite living being at the moment."

"I’m pretty sure I take second place." Nala nudged my arm. "I pay her, after all. I’m the boss lady."

"You’re competing with a cat?"

"I take my position seriously."

Kayla laughed, and Kim shook her head. Before I could come up with a response, someone knocked on the door.

"I’ll get it."

I walked over and opened the door to find Eleanor standing there in her usual work clothes. She had a black T-shirt under her jacket and tight pants, looking like she’d come straight from Stingy Ladies.

"Morning," I said. "Come on in."

"Morning." She smiled as she walked past me. "Mm. Smells nice."

"Minne’s cooking."

"I figured."

Eleanor walked into the kitchen, where everyone immediately greeted her.

"Morning, Eleanor," Kim said.

"Hey."

"Good morning," Minne added shyly.

"Morning, Minne. Smells great."

"Thank you."

Kayla waved at her from the counter. "Hey."

"Hey, Kayla. Settling in?"

"Yeah. So far, this place is amazing."

"You haven’t seen the best part yet," Jasmine said.

"What?"

"The food."

Eleanor laughed. "Then I picked the right day to come early."

"Breakfast is ready!" Minne announced.

Everyone started moving toward the table. There was one small problem. There were too many of us.

I looked at the dining table, counted the available chairs, and immediately realized someone was going to have to find another place to sit. Rather than make everyone rearrange themselves, I grabbed my plate and took one of the stools by the kitchen counter.

"You’re really sitting over there?" Jasmine asked.

"Yep."

"You’re not going to eat with us?"

"I am eating with you. I’m just doing it from three feet away."

I sat down and started eating while watching everyone settle around the table.

Minne looked pleased as everyone began digging into the breakfast she’d prepared. Kayla and Kim were sitting beside each other, Jasmine was across from Nala, and Eleanor had taken the remaining chair. It was a little crowded, but somehow that made the whole thing feel more like a proper family breakfast.

For once, nobody seemed to be in a rush.
