Tyrion traded his law shard to Tide for the materials to build a tower, though Tide revealed he would need his own forger. After the trade, Tide revealed to his uncle Ikenga that the entire interaction was a performance to sell raw materials, and he delighted in his newfound sense of power. Tyrion returned to his sanctuary, realizing the materials were anchored by a ring, and began the year-long construction. However, he soon recalled the unnatural pull that had originally led him to the tome and questioned its source.
