Lupus reveals a plan to invade Alec's domain, using an internal conflict among the Wilderness King's lords as a distraction. Meanwhile, Alec works on upgrading his summoned warriors, discovering that cultivation pills can significantly strengthen them, turning a regular barbarian into a Peak Tier 5 warrior with a solid foundation.

Seeing Alec look at him like that, the system spirit knew it was not getting out of this without offering an explanation, its eyes went dull for a moment, as though it were communicating directly with the system.

After a while, it explained that since the summoned units were essentially humans and were bound to Alec, they were able to benefit from some of the same advantages the system had granted him.

Just like Alec, they could absorb the full properties of cultivation pills and convert the energy into experience points to help them advance in realm without even cultivating.

However, unlike him, there were limits to the pills the summoned units could absorb. For one, the heroes could only rise to one Tier above Alec, as for the normal units, they could only reach one Tier below their leaders—the heroes.

Though it appeared that they had been given certain limitations, however Alec did not see this as a problem, on the contrary, he was over the moon that the experiment he had decided to try had produced results far beyond his expectations.

With their ability to absorb pills confirmed, he made sure that each and every one of the Barbarian warriors was boosted toward the Peak Tier 6 realm with the massive haul of pills he had been saving going down the drain, along with the Amazon Archers.

At the same time, he was able to push both Connan and the Amazon Archer Queen to the Peak Tier 7 realm.

Though they had not yet reached the stage where they could dominate everyone within the same realm yet like his golems could whenever they reached the peak, however this new increase in power was still enough for them to respond to ordinary threats.

While Alec leaves the truly high-level threats to his golems.

That has always been the plan for him from the very beginning, he only needed these units to be strong enough to win the war while he and his golems dealt with the major powerhouses of any opposing army they faced.

After solving the problem of their cultivation realms, Alec proceeded to craft spirit equipment sets that matched them; he had literally paid the system to design an equipment set specifically suited to the Barbarians.

And since they were all from the same race, simply scanning one Barbarian had been enough for the system to deduce the basic equipment set needed for every Barbarian soldier under him, though Alec still had to pay a massive sum of system points, and sacrifice a lot of unrelated equipment fragments to create them.

However, now that his golems were constantly killing Tier 7 lifeforms, Alec no longer had a hard time paying for such things, or even getting the required spirit equipment fragments needed, the only thing he had to do differently was have each Barbarian choose the type of weapon they preferred, after which he would use the system to help craft a weapon that matched both their combat style and new spirit equipment set.

As for Connan, Alec had created a Tier 5 spirit equipment set that directly matched his powers, making it more like a custom-made spirit equipment set, after he was equipped with this his power climbed another level than just being another Peak Tier 7 powerhouse.

This was another reason Alec had been too busy to enter the Beast Forest, as the only time he truly had the chance to patiently create these things was whenever he entered the Amulet World, in the stillness and silence of the darkness.

And he always had multiple pieces forged at once, summoning the astral projections of at least five Grandmaster Forgers to surround him and work on one order after another.

Now, imagine an army that had been given the proper equipment and had also reached the peak of the mid ranks, they were no longer just any ordinary squad.

To Alec, they were the squad—the very army he intended to use to win battles throughout the Wilderness region; the moment Connan appeared and saw the group of human warriors before him, he did not even bother making a move himself.

He simply commanded his warriors to charge forward, with a hand sign of his hands, what unfolded before him next was nothing short of a slaughter.

Normally, the Barbarian soldiers were already fearless warriors who charged head-on regardless of what they were facing, and for days, ever since their lord granted them their newfound strength, they had been craving the thrill of battle and the chance to spill blood.

However, Alec had been trying to focus on slowly improving his small growing domain and adapting to many things first.

However, now that the battle they had been craving was right before them, they did not hold back, around ten Barbarian soldiers dashed forward, their bodies flashing with tribal tattoos.

In the middle of their charge, the fur-and-leather armor covering them began to glow more brightly as their Qi blasted outward and they drew their weapons.

The first two at the front both wielded a pair of small axes. Tribal markings covered the highly processed wooden handles, which shone with an almost unreal luster.

With just one move, the first group of enemies they encountered lost their heads as the axes cleaved cleanly through their necks.

However, the Barbarians did not stop there.

They kicked away the bodies of those they had just killed with ease, clearing their paths before using the momentum to charge forward once again.

In only seven minutes, they had managed to wipe out all the soldiers who had been standing guard around the entrance to the throne room.

Connan raised his hand into the air and rotated his index finger, signaling for the warriors to gather around him, as they would soon be heading into the throne room.

Due to Hunter’s minions feigning death and later closing the city gates, and other gates that can lead to hiding places in the city, the invading army had been unable to escape or even hide, making it easier for the Barbarians to deal with them.

Though the enemies outnumbered them, not all of them were mid-rank warriors, and against a group of Peak Tier 6 Barbarians, the only losses Connan’s forces had to account for were the battle scars they had gained and a few bruises across their bodies.

Yet they smiled with ecstasy.

They made no attempt to hide their injuries, instead displaying them with such proud looks on their faces while praying that there would be even more powerful warriors waiting for them inside the throne room.

Connan looked around, and after confirming that most of his men had returned, he pointed toward the door before him, as two Barbarian warriors immediately dashed forward to open it.

But the moment the doors to the throne room swung open, both warriors were blasted backward by an overwhelmingly powerful aura, they dug their feet into the ground, carving long trenches across the floor before they finally managed to regain their balance.

In the middle of the throne room lay several dead bodies, along with iron knight golems whose black stone bodies were embroidered with blue lines, making them look like members of some ancient knight order.

These were the last of Hunter’s subordinate golems, and they had all been destroyed, only two figures remained standing.

Hunter appears to be struggling to protect the cube behind him, while Dave stood across from him.

All this while, Dave had been wearing a helmet that concealed his appearance, but it was now gone. Grey hair flowed down to his shoulders, revealing a surprisingly handsome face, while he wielded a blade in each hand.

But the moment the throne room doors opened and he saw Connan standing in the entrance, Dave cursed, he immediately realized that their crusade to take over Alec’s kingdom had failed, at least on his side of the attack, and now he would have to find a way to escape.

He had already been having a difficult time dealing with Hunter, who was surrounded by a small force field of strange grey energy, as behind him floated the mental projection of a massive sea creature resembling a whale.

However, it looked nothing like any peaceful whale Dave had ever known, the creature behind Hunter which floated in the air with such ease seemed more like an evil incarnate to him, with its enormous body formed entirely from anti-magic energy.
