The arena plunged into stunned silence as Sojin fell first among the eastern mages. Fang shifted to smoke form but was ensnared by Brandon's Ironvine Grip, pierced through the throat by Arthur, and crushed by sand, marking the second swift elimination. Alec, surrounded by Takeda's five avatars, summoned his five Tier 7 golems—Titan, Legion, Hive Queen, Oni, and Butcher—whose surging auras clashed violently against the overwhelming pressure.

Right after the golems were all deployed, Takeda launched his entire force against them without hesitation, determined to slaughter them and shatter Alec’s confidence.

He had to concede his shock at the impressive array of golems facing him, as he’d only anticipated the ice golems from the previous battle, Titan, plus his two Captain-ranked golems—Bulwark and Glacius.

Yet despite the drastic changes on the battlefield, Takeda clung to his belief in his superiority, certain he wouldn’t suffer defeat.

The Earth Takeda struck first by swinging his earth-forged axe, but prior to landing a backhand from his left hand, Titan materialized before him, hoisting his shield-bearing left arm to intercept and stall most of his motion.

The freezing power from Titan’s shield attempted to infiltrate the Earth Takeda’s body, yet he refused to yield to intimidation. He surged ahead with his left shoulder instead, shoving Titan backward and unveiling the raw might of his frame.

Just as he geared up to sustain his assault, he detected the Wind Takeda hurtling toward him at breakneck pace. Even before the Wind Takeda avatar closed in, his mental sense—blanketing the battlefield—had already registered its mana signature.

He whirled around instantly, striving to lift his left hand to soften the Wind Takeda’s impact, only to confront a dire issue: that hand was now nearly impossible to budge.

Glancing down then, he spotted the spot struck by Titan’s ice shield utterly frozen over, leaving him baffled at the moment it had occurred.

Convinced he’d overpowered Titan in those closing seconds, he remained engrossed in the puzzle when the Wind Takeda crashed into him, plummeting them both earthward at horrifying velocity.

Boom!

They slammed into the ground as Titan spun around in time to behold Butcher, his form reconstituting from innumerable lightning streaks fusing anew.

“I’ll take them on,” Butcher declared, his axe propped on his shoulder.

“Lightning is weak against earth. I’ve got this covered,” Titan’s retort quashed any thought Butcher had of tackling both foes.

Butcher longed to counter that his overwhelming strength rendered elemental weaknesses irrelevant, but then he watched two spiked maces materialize in Titan’s fists, as a complete ice mask sheathed his face, narrow slits exposing only his eyes.

Before Butcher could voice more, Titan had already dived toward the ground to seal the deal, compelling him to scout for a different opponent.

Turning then, he caught sight of Oni thrusting a curved blade into Shadow Takeda’s chest, two additional hands clamping the avatar’s face while another secured his arms, forcing unwavering eye contact as the blade drove deeper.

It was a nightmarish matchup.

Shadow Takeda brandished a dark scythe and depended on dark elemental strikes, whereas Oni shared dark affinity, wielded his own scythe, and commanded soul spells besides.

Their clash transcended mere realm disparity, evolving into a duel of expertise where the superior wielder claimed victory; regrettably for the Shadow avatar, Oni mastered the scythe through system rewards boosting golem weapon proficiency.

His expertise cornered the dark avatar, limiting him to futile dark elemental casts—that marked the onset of his dire straits.

Oni commandeered select spells, redirecting them against the foe via Life Drain, incrementally extracting essence with every use; this vitality restored Oni to prime state while Dark Takeda lagged behind.

Barred from dark elements entirely, the Shadow avatar swiftly comprehended his inability to overcome Oni even so, as his spells merely recoiled upon himself.

Options exhausted soon after, and overwhelmed by six hands brandishing weapons at unendurable speed, he perished—just like Butcher’s clash with Wind Takeda, a contest doomed ab initio.

Butcher, a storm-evolved golem, featured lightning as his signature trait, but storm manipulation stood as his core awakened ability—reflecting his authentic power—and storm derived as an advanced wind-element sub-skill.

Whenever Wind Takeda sought to unleash a wind-infused spell or assault, Butcher merely outstretched his hand to invoke Disperse, causing the wind energy to crumble instantly short of him.

For wind-augmented physical strikes, dispelling the boost drastically enfeebled them, letting Butcher pulverize each with one mighty swing.

Spotting this opening, Butcher slashed his left hand once more, unleashing Disperse with greater intensity. This time, it went beyond merely nullifying an assault—it shattered the nearby wind particles completely.

In that fleeting instant, the Wind Takeda found himself plunged into a condition where summoning wind spells turned immensely challenging, since the wind elemental particles around had been dispersed, depriving him of essential backing.

He managed to cast spells still, yet they demanded much greater exertion, yielding far feebler results. With his elemental edge nullified, the Wind avatar had no choice but to depend solely on Qi.

Facing Butcher, who charged ahead like a streak of a thousand lightning bolts, this proved insufficient. Thus, he could only erect a barrier as the enormous two-handed thunder axe slammed into his ribs—

—hurling him through the air.

At the same time, as Takeda's Dark avatar plummeted, its form started breaking apart into ebony motes. These motes floated lazily in the breeze, pulled inexorably toward the Progenitor Takeda, who remained suspended serenely, hands clasped behind his back.

Upon approaching him, he stretched out his left hand as the motes gathered—coalescing into a shadowy, crystalline power stone, its hue mirroring the shadow element essence commanded by the avatar.

Directly in view of Butcher and Oni, fresh from seeing the avatar's demise, Takeda lifted the stone to his lips—

—and devoured it, prompting instant frowns from both, uneasy with this turn of events.

The very next moment—Takeda's form exploded with shadowy power.
