Rain stealthily approached Levi on the rope, his chimeric true form visible only through Harmonic Spine, wielding a segmented katana. After swiftly decapitating Nightcrawler captain Kaeh’thos and shocking his allies, Rain unleashed Scarlet Noctem Arts: Cathedral of Dread, a red mist that ensnared the Nightcrawlers in their worst fears, draining their life force until they withered and died. With his former comrades eliminated, Rain turned a creepy smile toward Levi and the Daywalkers, inviting them to face their nightmares.

Levi swiftly signaled his teammates to widen the gap between them and Rain... he'd witnessed his spiritual aura skyrocketing after slaughtering his own allies. This led him to conclude that Rain had absorbed their blood, fear, or some bizarre form of energy.

No matter the exact nature, he wouldn't risk anyone's safety until he unraveled Rain’s abilities... thankfully, Nightcrawlers Wikipedia served as his invaluable companion.

‘Be careful... he belongs to the Hexgaze Lurker species.’ Ash’Kral cautioned steadily, ‘That species masters the Fear Aspect and the Illusion Aspect, trapping prey and enemies in inescapable nightmares drawn from their deepest fears. Afterward, they devour the unleashed fear energy, granting a permanent boost to their spiritual prowess.’

Upon hearing this, Levi shifted his attention back to Rain’s spiritual prowess... a twinge of worry crept in. Spiritual prowess was typically his strongest suit. Yet, Rain’s power matched that of a third-stage Tier 5 Nightcrawler.

Its intensity was so overwhelming that only he could withstand Rain’s spiritual assaults among his team... for the others, a direct hit might spell the same fate as those Nightcrawlers.

Worse still...

‘He also commands the Blood Aspect, adding a unique edge to his powers.’ Levi scowled intensely, ‘I’m unsure what Bishop did to him, but I recognize an experimental creation when it’s right in front of me.’

Ash’Kral had described a chameleon-derived species, yet it bore no resemblance to Rain’s hyena-like features.

It seemed as if two beings had been crudely fused together... Rain concealing the Hexgaze Lurker embedded on his scalp provided clear evidence.

"One mercenary facing off against a whole faction, all by himself! This is unprecedented!" Gamemaster Envy shouted excitedly, "Does he truly possess the strength to triumph, or has madness overtaken him?!"

The audience wavered between cheers and jeers... though the scenario thrilled, faith in Rain remained scant. To them, even after dispatching his allies solo, defeating fifteen Daywalkers seemed impossible.

Especially with Levi in their ranks.

As boos from the spectators echoed through the heavens over the prospect of a spoiled spectacle, Rain stayed utterly indifferent... He pressed forward toward the Daywalkers across the Toxic Kingdom, the venom having no effect on his form.

He seemed to share Levi’s immunity, but Levi knew better... He’d spotted the form-fitting telekinetic barrier Rain deployed to repel the poison.

Rain bypassed the Giant’s Horns and stayed his course... his emotionless gaze mirrored just one thing: Levi’s loved ones.

He remained dead set on completing his task of tormenting Levi’s dear ones, heedless of whether Levi survived or perished.

Unlike Fang, Levi’s potential as a future danger to his master meant nothing to him... his mission came first, and he’d execute it precisely to return to his slumber.

"Please don’t force me to walk... I despise walking..."

Rain muttered with a heavy sigh, observing the Daywalkers pulling back to the rope’s end to join Jasmine and the others.

Only Levi caught his quiet grumble... he brushed it aside and faced his comrades with a grave look.

"Don’t take him lightly... he matches Orry’Xel’s power, perhaps surpasses it." Levi commanded firmly, "Set up a physical and spiritual defense line immediately."

He sensed their skepticism toward his retreat order against one lone Nightcrawler... even after slaying his allies alone, such caution felt excessive given their vast numerical advantage.

Still, after Fang’s incident, none voiced opposition to Levi... As they devised the optimal defense strategy using their diverse abilities, their eyes widened sharply seeing Rain’s body gradually dissolve into a delicate crimson mist...

"Are you seei..."

"Yes."

Once they confirmed no one imagined the bizarre sight, their faces hardened with gravity as they followed the drifting crimson mist through the vast sky.

"Levi..."

"I’ve got it."

Shia and the others turned to Levi, aware his spiritual sight outshone theirs... no, likely everyone shy of Solarbound rank.

Many felt unalarmed, confident their ace covered spiritual confrontations.

Unaware to them, Levi strained his spiritual vision to the max, even sensing air tremors to trace Rain, only to confront the solitary chameleon... it lingered motionless in the spot Rain had occupied.

The real danger hurtled toward them at breakneck speed, remaining completely unseen even by Levi’s spiritual vision!

With Levi’s Harmonic Spine limited to just a few hundred meters in range, his only recourse was spiritual vision.

’What trick did he pull off... He can’t disperse his soul like that and reform it using a technique below Solarbound rank.’

Levi's face hardened with gravity, sensing true blindness for the first time in ages... his instincts buzzed relentlessly, warning of Rain's swift advance, while one of his prime weapons utterly failed him.

’I suspect it’s a Hexgaze Lurker technique...’ Ash’Kral cut in, ’The chameleon serves as the vessel holding both their souls, enabling Rain to shatter his physical and spiritual bodies and project them at will...’

Levi's scowl intensified at those words... If Ash’Kral proved correct, their predicament plunged far deeper than he'd imagined.

But Rain allowed no moment for reflection... abruptly, a subtle, wave-like quiver rippled through Levi's realm of vibrant frequencies.

At last, validation for his instincts struck.

"He’s coming fast, get your defenses up now!"

Levi bellowed the command to the group, his tone pulsing with desperate urgency as he urged them to unleash their strongest shields or protect their comrades.

"My turn... Karmic Pendulum Arts..."

Jojo advanced first, clutching her praying beads necklace firmly... She funneled spiritual energy into the beads, causing her small horn and the runic scripture tattoos hidden beneath her clothes to glow with the untainted purity of a child's innocence.

"Great Prayer Ward Constellation."

Her soft utterance caused the necklace thread to snap, scattering the praying beads into the air... Instead of tumbling onto the rope below, they floated into an intricate, bizarre array around the Daywalkers; some lodged into the rope, others threaded through spaces amid the group, while many suspended at diverse heights high overhead.

Once locked into position, the beads erupted in dazzling radiance, launching focused blasts of white spiritual energy at each other. These luminous threads wove the beads into a vast stellar lattice, birthing a colossal, shining constellation that loomed above the party in the clear outline of a massive, seated monk in meditation!

All eyes shifted to Jojo, now floating at the constellation's heart in deep meditation; her eyes sealed shut, breaths measured, lips chanting ceaselessly a sutra of safeguarding.

Each recited line made the constellation flare brighter and harden more solidly, as though her chants forged its power.

"Tsk... she was clearly eager to flaunt her newest ultimate." Arthur tsked his tongue, yet inwardly savored the spectacle.

Not just him... the audience gaped in awe at the enchanting display, evoking the sensation of a genuine heavenly star map cascading down.

’This technique...’ Gamemaster Envy squinted, ’Is it tied to that Aspect, or merely a replica from her weapon’s crafting...’

After the chaos in this game, Gamemaster Envy eyed anything provocative with doubt... Jojo’s skill stirred echoes of ancient practices linked to a vanished Aspect and its masters. Still, he shook it off and refocused on the action, deeming the likeness superficial at best. For grave concerns, superficial ties fell short.

"Justice Pervail!"

"Spiritual Reinforcement!"

"Seven-Star Bastion!"

At once, the team's other members surged to back Jojo, channeling their spiritual power into the formation to fortify its walls against the looming assault... They'd seen her deploy this ultimate in training and grasped that its defenses were no trifling matter.

Orders remained orders, after all.

Levi restrained himself from aiding the barrier, conscious that his spiritual energy dwindled perilously and he dared not deplete his last reserves without a true counter to Rain.

"He is here..."
