The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space Chapter 2944: Rumors

Although the news was sealed off, it still happened among the people, so it did cause panic. However, timely reassurance and treatment were provided in time, so even though more than a dozen people died, it did not lead to an uncontrollable situation.

The inspection results showed that a well behind Floating Mountain Village had been poisoned with poisonous insects.

Yang Ruxin breathed a sigh of relief, because the water in the well is not flowing, the spread is smaller. If the other party had poisoned the river, it would have been really troublesome.

Although the poisonous insects in the well water were eventually cleaned out, and the water quality was no longer an issue, everyone still decided to seal the well. Even if it was fine, they didn’t dare to drink from it anymore.

Yang Ruxin took this opportunity to educate about the dangers of drinking raw water and suggested that everyone should boil water before drinking it, as most bacteria and poisonous insects can be killed at high temperatures.

With so many people dead, it was much easier for everyone to accept.

However, a wave of rumors quietly spread.

"Investigate." In the Royal Study Room, Emperor Xuanwen slammed the table in anger. "Thoroughly investigate the source of the rumors."

The general idea of the rumor was that the current Emperor was unrighteous and seized the throne that wasn’t rightfully his, which brought divine punishment. Otherwise, why had he been sickly for so long? And now, he even implicated his subjects...

It is said that rumors stop with the wise, but where are there so many wise people among the common folk? Very few can even read, so how can we expect them to be smart? Therefore, the rumors began to grow rampant.

Although the Jinyiwei and Xiudao Guards were openly and secretly investigating, because it was spreading among the populace, the range was too wide to find the source immediately, not to mention that the law cannot punish everyone.

"Emperor, it is difficult to trace the source." Yang Ruxin glanced at Emperor Xuanwen, "How about trying another method?"

"What method?" Qi Jingchen looked at Yang Ruxin, "Feel free to speak."

"The other party’s purpose in spreading such rumors, I believe, is twofold: one is to sow discord within the Imperial Family, and the other is to undermine your prestige." Yang Ruxin rubbed her chin, "However, your prestige has been established through years of diligent governance, how could it be so easily undermined? Therefore, the main purpose of the other party should be to alienate you, making you harbor suspicions about your brothers."

Emperor Xuanwen’s eyes slightly narrowed.

"But the Emperor is wise and valiant, how could he fall for that?"

Emperor Xuanwen suddenly chuckled, "Xinxin, your flattery is quite out of tune."

"Since the Emperor can tease me like this, I’m relieved then." Yang Ruxin shrugged.

"Alright, quickly tell me your plan." Qi Jingchen waved his hand.

"That would be to use another rumor to cover over the current one." Yang Ruxin smiled slightly.

"Another rumor?"

"Yes." Yang Ruxin nodded, "If another rumor that piques more interest emerges, people will forget the previous one. Then that rumor will just fade away, won’t it?"

"But what kind of rumor would be suitable?"

"For example, a divine omen descending upon Huguo Temple, hinting that Daxuan’s reign is everlasting, or... the Emperor is a Fairy from heaven?"

"What kind of idea is that?" Qi Jingyun frowned.

"I’m just providing a concept, the specifics are up to you to implement anyway, that’s the general idea." Yang Ruxin waved her hand, "You all can handle how to execute it."
