The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space Chapter 2460: Anxious and Worried (Part 4)
Previously on The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space...
"Hey!" Wang Hehua let out a sigh, "I was worried when my daughter had no husband, and now that she’s married off, my heart feels rather empty."
"Fortunately, my daughter Xiaoyu married within the village, so I can see her anytime," Zhao Xinghua responded instinctively.
"You’re just trying to make me feel bad," Wang Hehua shot Zhao Xinghua a sidelong glance.
"Why would I do that to you? I’m worried too," Zhao Xinghua suddenly sighed. "Tie Dan is already twenty-one this year, yet he hasn’t found a wife. I’m so worried I’ve sprouted gray hairs, and what’s worse, ever since New Year’s, this sore in my mouth just won’t heal." She drew a sharp breath, her hand instinctively touching the sore in her mouth.
"What is Tie Dan thinking?" Wang Hehua chimed in agreement. "Several families from my side have inquired about your Tie Dan, but I haven't dared to give an answer."
"I wish I knew what he’s thinking," Zhao Xinghua looked resentful. "That stubborn boy won’t tell me anything, he just says he has it under control. Under control, my foot!"
"Today is a joyous occasion, let’s talk about something happy," Liu Cuiyun patted Zhao Xinghua’s arm reassuringly. "Children have their own blessings; you’re worrying yourself for nothing."
"Let’s not discuss it further," Zhao Xinghua waved her hand dismissively. "At least my daughter and son-in-law are nearby, and soon there will be a grandson. I’m telling you, Cuiyun, don’t compete with me; I’ll help take care of the child."
"I won’t compete; you can take care of him!" Liu Cuiyun laughed, a touch of helplessness in her tone.
Of course, the subsequent daily disputes between the two mothers-in-law over childcare duties would become another matter entirely.
Yang Ruxin felt a sense of helplessness towards Aunt Xinghua. She had indirectly spoken with Tie Dan, but he had stated he wasn't ready to marry yet, and she couldn't push too hard. While twenty-one didn't seem particularly old to her, in this era and location, it was different. At that age, a person might have issues, or the family might be too impoverished to afford a wife, much like Ma Laiwang.
However, the Liang Family was now somewhat well-off, and yet Liang Tie remained unmarried, fueling gossip and speculation that he might be afflicted with some hidden ailment.
A so-called "hidden illness" generally implies impotence or involvement in some illicit dealings, neither of which is pleasant to discuss, making Aunt Xinghua’s worry understandable.
At the Li family’s banquet, nearly every household from both villages had sent representatives, and numerous individuals had pitched in to help.
Ma Laiwang even volunteered his assistance, and surprisingly, he was adorned in new clothes and shoes. Dressed up, he appeared tall and rather handsome.
"Has Ma Dishi changed?" Yang Ruxin inquired casually.
"No," Wang Hehua paused for a moment before shaking her head. "If that woman were to change, the sun would rise in the west."
"But Uncle Laiwang is wearing new clothes and shoes," Yang Ruxin raised an eyebrow. "The stitching doesn’t look like it came from a store-bought garment."
"I believe it looks like Qiaoqiao’s handiwork," Erni commented casually. "The cuffs of the coat even feature a circle of dark cloud embroidery."
"Luo Qiaoqiao?" Yang Ruxin frowned slightly.
"Yes," Erni nodded. "She’s always doing embroidery for the Embroidery Store; I recognize that stitching."
The surrounding individuals couldn't help but exchange glances before their expressions shifted to one of understanding.
"You know, that girl Luo Qiaoqiao is truly quite capable," Wang Hehua exclaimed, clapping her hands. "Brother Laiwang is also a good man. If they were to get together, it would be a wonderful match."
