Unfortunately, Jin Yuka had already met his end and occupied the honored seat of the deceased.
The entire tribe, it seemed, had long since departed.
Upon learning the grim news, Flame hastened to the scene. Witnessing the state of affairs, his rage ignited, leading him to obliterate the entire stilt house, Jin Yuka's corpse included, with a single, devastating palm strike.
"Search the area!"
"Reporting to the Master," Moxie arrived swiftly. "There isn't a single soul to be found."
"Pursue them," Flame commanded, gesturing with his hand. "We must retrieve the King's Seal at all costs."
The followers of the Flame Sect fanned out, yet the region was a labyrinth of dense forests and treacherous swamps, making the chase a near-impossible feat.
However, their efforts were not entirely in vain; they managed to apprehend four individuals who couldn't keep pace.
In truth, their slowness stemmed from a dispute over Gold, which had ensnared them.
These four turned out to be Jin Yuka's two sons, each accompanied by their respective mothers.
"My father never cared for me, how could he possibly have given me the King's Seal?" the eldest son, Jin Luo, pleaded fearfully as he knelt. "I implore the Master to see the truth."
"Indeed, that old man hasn't visited my stilt house in two years," Jin Luo's mother corroborated, nodding in agreement.
"My father doesn't favor me either," the second son, Jin Ao, quickly chimed in. "I'm not even considered among the male heirs."
"Nor have I shared a bed with that old man in three years," Jin Ao's mother added hurriedly, her voice trembling.
"Rest assured, as long as you provide truthful answers to my inquiries, I shall not bring you any harm."
"We absolutely will answer truthfully," the group quickly affirmed. "We will reveal everything we know."
"Then, in your estimation, who holds the King's Seal?"
"Without a doubt, it's that deceased girl, Ayang," Jin Luo's mother exclaimed. "She was that old man's most cherished daughter..."
"It's true, younger sister is adept at pleasing Father," Jin Ao's mother interjected, unwilling to be outdone. "The old man once lamented why Ayang wasn't born a son."
"Ayang? Isn't her name Alai?" Flame furrowed his brow. He had been associated with Jin Yuka for such a long time, and that old rascal had always shown a peculiar tenderness towards Alai, his daughter.
"Nonsense, he favors sister Ayang the most," Jin Luo insisted, waving his hand dismissively. "I've witnessed it numerous times; Father secretly bestowing gifts upon sister..."
Flame couldn't help but slam his hand down on the table.
The few present flinched nervously.
"Very well," Flame managed to suppress his emotions, stepping closer to them. "Then, where might Ayang have gone?"
"She was undoubtedly taken by Ran Lei. Ran Lei favors that deceased girl; otherwise, he wouldn't have served as a guard by Father's side..."
Flame closed his eyes for a brief moment behind his mask. He had, after all, been completely deceived by that old fellow, Jin Yuka.
"Master, will you permit us to depart?" Jin Luo inquired, his voice quivering.
Flame merely waved his hand.
A wave of relief washed over the group. They stood up, making a dash for the exit, but had taken merely two steps when Moxie, positioned at the doorway, suddenly sprang into the air. In a flash of icy steel, the four froze, their eyes wide with shock, their movements ceasing abruptly.
"You..." Jin Luo's eyes widened as he looked back at Flame, before his gaze dropped to the ground.
"Men," Flame commanded, not even glancing at the fallen bodies. "Relentlessly pursue Ayang and Ran Lei. Toward the Miao people, show no mercy; kill them all."
Shortly thereafter, several smaller tribes in the vicinity met a grim fate.
"Hand over Ayang, and your lives will be spared," Flame stated, his voice chilling as he addressed the captured Miao people.
"We know nothing," all of them replied, shaking their heads.
"Know nothing?" Flame let out a sneer. "In that case, I shall ask no further. You will all perish."
