With the ferocity of a mosquito scenting blood, the Flame surged forward.
Yet, the Flame recoiled two steps, leaving his opponent to crash to the ground once more, utterly defeated like a common cur.
"Exchange it for your Miaojiang King’s Seal," the Flame chuckled, a dark amusement in his voice. "Regardless, in your current state, you can no longer lead Miaojiang." He knew that despite the tens of thousands of soldiers currently under his command, Miaojiang possessed a hidden power, accessible only through the King’s Seal, a force he desperately needed.
Jin Yuka, curled on the ground, remained resolutely silent.
"You have a quarter of an hour to consider," the Flame declared, not bothering to conceal his impatience before turning to sit at a nearby table.
"I will give it, I..." Before the allotted time elapsed, Jin Yuka could bear it no longer. "The King's Seal is... ah..." Tormented by violent convulsions, he could not utter a single coherent sentence.
The Flame observed Jin Yuka's agony for a long moment before finally approaching and placing a small piece of Divine Incense into his palm.
Jin Yuka hastily brought the Divine Incense to his nose, inhaling deeply. Slowly, he regained a fraction of his strength and managed to rise, turning towards the exit. "I shall retrieve the King's Seal."
After Jin Yuka departed, Moxie stepped forward, his voice laced with concern. "Master, do you believe he will attempt any treachery?"
"He is no longer capable of any tricks," the Flame replied dismissively, unconcerned about Jin Yuka's potential betrayal. "However, regarding the Prince, ensure our vigilance is heightened."
"Master, rest assured," Moxie affirmed, clasping his hands. "But Master, does that scoundrel Prince still hold any value?"
"His Inner Strength is profound," the Flame murmured, a hint of resignation in his tone. "If I can harness his power, he is worth more than a thousand troops. By keeping him alive, I aim to break his willpower. Once his spirit collapses, then..."
"Master is wise; may he reign forever," Moxie intoned, promptly kneeling on one knee in a display of sycophantic loyalty.
Though no one could decipher the emotion beneath the Flame's mask, a soft snort indicated his clear satisfaction.
Leaving the Flame's tent without a moment's hesitation, Jin Yuka made his way directly back to his own tribe.
"King, how are you feeling?" Ran Lei asked, supporting Jin Yuka as they entered the stilted house. "Hold on, I will fetch the Witch Doctor immediately."
"Alei," Jin Yuka sighed, grasping Ran Lei's hand. "I fear my time is drawing short."
"King?"
"Ah!" Jin Yuka waved a dismissive hand. "I deeply regret not heeding your counsel; now I find myself ensnared by others."
"King, I am prepared to fight the Flame to the very end..."
"We cannot possibly defeat him," Jin Yuka stated, shaking his head. "It is I who have brought ruin upon our tribe, and I am deeply sorry for all the people of Miaojiang." He paused, his voice heavy with regret. "I cannot undo the mistakes of the past, but I refuse to stand idly by and watch Miaojiang descend into utter ruin..." With newfound resolve, he gripped Ran Lei's hand once more. "I entrust Ayang to your care. I implore you to protect her safety."
"King," Ran Lei’s eyes welled up with tears.
"Father," a young woman's voice called out, her silver bells jingling merrily as she rushed in. "You must not die."
"Ayang," Jin Yuka's gaze softened as he saw his daughter. Reaching out, he clasped her hand tightly. "I foolishly allowed the wolf into our midst, but under no circumstances can the King's Seal fall into the Flame's hands." As he spoke, he removed the darkened Tibetan Silver Thumb Ring from his finger and pressed it into his daughter's grasp. "Your two brothers are truly inadequate, unfit to inherit the throne. My Ayang, though a daughter, is in no way inferior to any son..."
