The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space Chapter 2381: 2381: Farting and Burping (Part 1)
Previously on The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space...
Chen Yingzi instantly became incensed: "Yang Ruxin, what do you mean by that? I've consumed the medicinal pill, yet you continue to scrutinize me? Are you attempting to frame me? You claim one burps when they desire and farts when they desire? I..."
Before she could finish her statement, a nearby individual let out a burp, and another released a loud fart. Soon after, others who had ingested the medicinal pill joined in, creating a lively spectacle of burping and flatulence.
"Oh dear, I must return; the stench is unbearable." Several women felt a wave of embarrassment and fled the scene.
The villagers also recoiled from the odor, but they merely retreated a short distance, covering their noses without actually departing.
A continuous chorus of burps and farts enveloped everyone, with the sole exception of Chen Yingzi, who remained unaffected.
"Goodness, Second Sister-in-law, I never imagined you would meddle with my family affairs, I... burp..." Yang Huangshi pointed a finger at Chen Yingzi, intent on confronting her, but her words were repeatedly interrupted by incessant burping.
"I..." Chen Yingzi realized escaping this situation with words alone was futile.
"Nonsense!" The Third Uncle's dragon-headed walking stick slammed forcefully onto the ground. "All of you, proceed to the courtyard. Do you not feel any shame standing here?" With that, he turned and departed.
Chen Guowei approached, took his wife's arm, and led her away, finding the situation too mortifying.
The rest, however, engaged in laughter and jest, aware that the bout of farting and burping would soon subside. Yet, they all expressed feelings of refreshment and unexpected good fortune, eliciting envy from those around them.
Yang Ruxin, unconcerned with how to handle Chen Yingzi, as it was a family dispute, acknowledged the Third Uncle and the village chief before turning to leave.
"Eldest Cousin, aren't you concerned she might have consumed it too?" Yang Ruohuai, brimming with curiosity, closely followed Yang Ruxin, posing his inquiry.
"No, because she harbors guilt," Yang Ruxin replied with a chuckle. "Therefore, one should never engage in wrongdoing with a guilty conscience; only then can you remain steadfast, unafraid of any scrutiny."
Yang Ruohuai nodded in understanding.
"Go find Xiaofeng and the others to play," Yang Ruxin said, patting Yang Ruohuai's head. She had to admit, Yang Rusong had invested considerable effort in this younger brother; the child was no longer as bothersome.
Yang Ruohuai's eyes lit up. Despite a flicker of timidity, as a child, he trusted his Eldest Cousin's word, believing it would be alright, and turned to seek out Xiaofeng and the others.
"Eldest Cousin, you are truly remarkable," Yang Rusong stated with sincerity.
"I must also express my gratitude to Guan Jieyuan for his assistance," Yang Ruxin remarked, her gaze falling upon Guan Qingshu.
"It was merely a minor effort." Guan Qingshu's eyes gleamed; she had actually noticed him.
Yang Ruxin nodded but paused after a few steps. "I heard Guan Jieyuan intends to travel to Beijing after the New Year?"
"Yes, thanks to my mentor's guidance, I caught the attention of Shilin Academy's Academician Wang Yaze, and next year, I will be able to study at the Imperial College." Guan Qingshu shared this without reservation.
"Elder Wang is indeed a scholar of great learning, besides being forthright and modest," Yang Ruxin affirmed, nodding. "To become his disciple is genuinely a stroke of great fortune." The critical point was that Wang Yaze remained impartial, largely abstaining from court politics, and devoting himself solely to academia, which positioned him as one of the most astute individuals.
"Thank you." Guan Qingshu's eyes sparkled.
Yang Ruxin offered a smile. "I sincerely hope that in the future, we, who are acquainted, do not find ourselves on opposing paths, do we?" She then walked away decisively. Political landscapes are inherently unpredictable, yet it is always preferable to prevent acquaintances from becoming adversaries.
