Victoria unleashes her Law of Decay on Alex, but he remarkably withstands it and even emanates the same power. She attacks with twin flame swords, vanishing and striking him, but he regenerates from the poison. Undeterred, Alex offers a casual handshake, which Victoria rejects by severing his arm. However, Alex reattaches his hand, and Victoria, enraged, unleashes her full power.

Victoria lifted both her swords, moving with deliberate slowness.

The cracked earth beneath her feet groaned as if sensing her intention, and dust trickled from broken stones. Even the dead wind of that desolate world seemed to hold its breath.

The blades in her hands began to hum, a profound, layered vibration that was more than sound—it was law, resonating.

Then, power erupted. Green light enveloped her first, sharp and vibrant, carrying the essence of untamed forests and unchecked growth. It crept over her skin like living vines, entwining her arms, waist, and neck.

Gold followed, not the gentle warmth of sunlight, but a divine authority. It radiated outward in waves, distorting the very air, and the fractured sky above flickered faintly under its oppressive might.

Blue surged next, cold, vast, and infinite, like an ocean without shores compressed into human form. Frost traced the ground around her boots before dissipating into mist.

And finally—darkness. Not merely the absence of light, nor a simple shadow, but something ancient. It clung to her skin, consuming the edges of the other colors, coiling around her like a patient predator.

All four colors spiraled around her simultaneously, distinct yet orbiting her form in violent, precise harmony.

The decaying world trembled with greater intensity. Cracks widened, and entire sections of brittle ground collapsed inward. The violet sky churned with circular distortions, as if a massive eye were attempting to open above them.

Alex felt the shift. The pressure alone caused his coat to flutter slightly. The air around him grew heavier with each passing second.

He exhaled through his mask. "Looks like she’s finally planning to go all out."

The energies surrounding Victoria intensified once more, pressing outward in expanding rings.

He rolled his neck slowly and deliberately, then stretched both arms outward. "Then let’s get serious too."

A translucent blue panel materialized before his eyes.

[ Death Affinity is in use ]

The moment the message vanished—black energy began to emanate from him. Not explosively, but seeping outwards like mist rising from a grave. It spread across his skin, clinging to his clothes, shrouding him in a dense cloak that seemed to absorb all surrounding light.

The ground beneath him withered further, and the remaining structure of that dying world began to disintegrate at an accelerated pace. The atmosphere grew heavy, suffocating. Breathing became more arduous, sounds dulled, and even the distant cracks in the earth seemed to quiet, as if sound itself shunned his presence.

This death energy didn’t shatter the fundamental laws holding bodies together. It enacted something far more chilling: invasion. It corroded life force, drained vitality, and suppressed regeneration. It spread like a silent infection, ensuring that once touch by death, recovery became utterly impossible.

Victoria felt its chilling touch, a shiver running down her spine. For a fleeting second, her pupils constricted, but she didn't falter. Her swords blazed with increased brilliance.

Then—Alex vanished.

There was no blur, no afterimage. One moment he was there; the next, he wasn't.

Her eyes widened sharply. In the following instant, an invisible force passed through her. There was no blade, no flash, no sound. From her left shoulder down across nearly her entire abdomen, her body was cleaved—not sliced by steel, but carved by death itself.

The four colors surrounding her shattered outward violently, their formation broken as her torso separated. For a heartbeat, she remained standing, her brain struggling to process the impossible. She looked down, her vision tilting at an unnatural angle.

Warmth touched her lips. Blood. It began to stream from her nose, slow and steady, dripping onto the cracked earth. Drip. Drip. Then more blood spilled from her mouth, trailing down her chin and splashing onto the ground below.

She still hadn't fully grasped what had occurred. Behind her, a calm voice spoke. "What, did I go too hard on you?"

Alex stood there, death energy still curling around him like black smoke. "I can’t just stand there like a stupid hero while the villain powers up, you know."

Her legs finally gave way. Her body hit the ground with a heavy thud, the impact sending small fractures spiderwebbing outward. Blood pooled beneath her, thick and dark, seeping into the fissures of the dying world.

Her green, gold, blue, and dark energies flickered chaotically. Her vision blurred, her lips trembled. In a faint, broken whisper—"Law… of Destruction…"

The air around her distorted. The blood beneath her vibrated. "Law… of Restoration…"

The instant the words left her mouth—her entire body tore itself apart, not outward, but inward. Her flesh fragmented into thousands of glowing shards—green, gold, blue, and dark—each piece pulsing with power. Her bones dissolved into luminous particles. Her blood evaporated midair. Her soul signature fractured into countless pieces.

Alex tilted his head slightly.

Then, a smile touched his lips.

"It's almost like I'm watching a Hollywood movie."

The fragmented pieces drifted away from him, coalescing several feet to his right.

They began to spin in a controlled vortex.

Slowly at first.

Then, with increasing speed.

Bone materialized first.

A skeletal structure piecing itself together in mid-air.

Nerves followed, weaving like luminous threads.

Muscle wrapped itself around the frame.

Skin sealed everything flawlessly.

Within mere seconds—

Victoria stood whole once more.

Perfect.

Unscarred.

Untouched.

She flexed her fingers once.

Rotated her shoulders.

The four distinct colors resumed their orbit around her body, now steadier than before.

She lifted her gaze.

She could perceive it.

The subtle adjustment in Alex’s posture.

The slight narrowing of his eyes.

She threw her head back and erupted into laughter.

"What's the matter?" she questioned sharply. "Afraid that your strongest move wasn't able to finish me off?"

Alex tilted his head again.

"First of all, that wasn't my finishing move."

He advanced slowly.

Death energy still emanated from him, a heavy, oppressive aura.

"Second of all, I'm learning a great deal from fighting you. That power you just utilized was quite impressive."

A flicker of curiosity ignited within her.

"Oh? And what did you learn?"

Alex gestured towards the empty space where her ruined body had been moments prior.

"The death energy I employed? No one recovers from it."

He tapped his chest lightly.

"It invades. It suppresses. It prevents regeneration and corrodes vitality until complete annihilation."

He met her gaze directly.

"But you discovered a method to circumvent it. To bypass that effect."

Victoria’s lips curved slightly.

"Go on."

Alex raised a single finger.

"When you realized your body couldn't regenerate because the death energy was suppressing your life force, your physical form, and your soul—leaving you incapable of restoring any of them... and that you were gradually perishing..."

She nodded once.

"You utilized two of your four fragmented laws."

Her eyes sharpened.

"You annihilated yourself first."

He pointed directly at her.

"You activated the Law of Destruction and completely erased your own body and soul before my death energy could fully consume you."

He continued with a calm demeanor.

"Then, you employed the Law of Restoration to reconstruct everything from absolute zero. A fresh body. A fresh soul. No lingering traces of death energy attached."

A faint grin appeared beneath his mask.

"It was a fascinating spectacle. I'll award you a hundred points. Truly a sight to behold."

He spread his hands slightly.

"You've broadened my horizons."

Victoria studied him intently.

"You're astute. I'll grant you that much."

Her expression hardened.

"But receiving praise from a lesser being hardly makes me pleased."

Alex chuckled softly.

"The same applies to you, my soon-to-be slave. Feel free to insult me all you wish for now."

His eyes gleamed with keen interest.

"I'm curious about how many other interesting abilities you possess, similar to that one."

His voice lowered slightly.

"But the moment you cease to entertain me... that will be the end for you."

He casually raised his hand.

"So, give it your best."
