The eSports King's Crush Chapter 1
"I’ve done none of those things. My sole focus is on competing effectively."
As Mo Bei entered, she witnessed her older brother humbling himself in pursuit of his aspirations.
Yet, it was apparent the individual on the other end of the line had no intention of allowing him that opportunity. Someone else took the phone. "Mo Nan, you remain incredibly naive. Whether you committed those acts or not is irrelevant, isn't it? Even if I orchestrated your framing, so what? With your hand injury, you're essentially useless. Cease burdening the manager. Even if he champions your cause, the other team members will never agree to your return, lest you drag down our standards."
Slam!
The piercing, distinct sound of the call disconnecting caused Mo Nan's fingers to freeze.
It was clear his usefulness had expired, leading the club to make the decision to discard him.
He found this utterly unacceptable!
"Brother." A voice, tinged with a slight coolness, spoke beside his ear.
Mo Nan turned, spotting his younger sister. Just as he was about to conceal his dejection, Mo Bei declared, "I will compete in your stead for the upcoming matches."
"What?" Mo Nan's eyes widened with shock, a flicker of disbelief crossing his trembling gaze.
Mo Bei stood, hands tucked into her pockets, a faint smile gracing her lips. "Why? Do you doubt my capabilities?"
"How could I doubt your capabilities?" Mo Nan mumbled. "But..."
Mo Bei interrupted him with an indifferent tone. "We look identical, and no one in the competitive scene has seen me before. If I impersonate you, no one will be the wiser."
That was indeed the case. Aside from himself, that secret was known to no one else.
Three years prior, the legendary top player of the national server, who had dominated Zone A and garnered legions of devoted fans before vanishing at the zenith of their fame, had been a woman.
If she were to make a comeback, even Mo Nan couldn't fathom the immense stir it would create!
"Do you truly intend to do this?"
"Absolutely." As she spoke, Mo Bei retrieved a pair of scissors and swiftly sheared her long locks. The motion was so slick it could momentarily steal one's breath. When she looked up again, her head of short, tousled black hair gleamed with an underlying intensity. "I must make it unequivocally clear to those individuals that my brother is not to be trifled with simply because they desire it."
One month later, at a bustling high-speed railway station…
It was the holiday season, and the platform teemed with an abundance of people.
Amidst the crowd, the handsome and slender silhouette of a youth drew considerable attention. He was clad in a dark suit blazer, which, adorning his youthful frame, unmistakably contributed to his heart-stopping good looks.
A significant number of young women were already directing their gazes his way.
The youth's gentle smile captivated a multitude of blushing faces.
The petite assistant, Wang Dongdong, who had arrived to escort him, found himself momentarily stunned by the spectacle.
After all, he struggled to reconcile the elegant young man before him with the previously unremarkable individual who had a penchant for smashing keyboards after a defeat.
What could possibly be amiss with this person? Had he perhaps been possessed?
Mo Bei had viewed a photograph of Wang Dongdong prior to her departure. According to her brother, this assistant was the sole individual he placed his trust in.
In that scenario, she would begin with him, gauging whether he could discern her true identity.
"Dongdong." Mo Bei approached with a smile.
Wang Dongdong appeared utterly speechless. "You dyed... You dyed your hair?"
That's right; no wonder something felt inexplicably different.
It turned out he had dyed his hair.
This must be the reason for the illusion of his newfound elegance!
"Yes, I did." Mo Bei recalled her brother's conspicuously bright yellow hair and smiled. "Why? Does it not suit me?"
Before Wang Dongdong could offer a response, the two were abruptly silenced. A cacophony of screams erupted without the slightest preamble.
"Ahhhh! Almighty K! My beloved Almighty K!"
