Mirena at last gave a nod. Following a short period of deliberation, she stated a figure.
"We can provide you with four thousand Prima Deities and forty-nine Arch Deities."
Cain's incarnation stayed utterly impassive, revealing no hint outwardly. But inside his core, a fierce longing and thrill raged intensely. This vast quantity of offerings promised a huge supply of Ancestor Drops—sufficient for him to make a huge leap ahead in forging his fresh form.
Yet Mirena had more to say.
Her tone turned icy, laced with a frosty command that made the atmosphere feel as if it had iced over.
"Grasp this clearly," she declared. "These offerings bring
obligations. Should you fail to display sufficient might in the upcoming fights, we shall require compensation."
Cain gazed at the lady briefly before offering a grave bow. Paradise allowed no room for recklessness on his part. Indeed, she had just delivered him tributes amounting to almost a fourth of the Nine Empyrean Suns Alliance's fighters, treating them like mere refuse.
"I shall unleash my complete strength in the forthcoming conflicts," Cain responded steadily. "I will claim the lives of numerous Kalous Kingdom soldiers. There's no cause for concern on that front."
Mirena inclined her head, appearing content. Next, she flicked her wrist, propelling a medallion toward the blood figure.
"That token enables our mutual contact," she explained. "Free from any chance of eavesdroppers."
Her manner shifted to one of greater gravity.
"From our reports, the Kalous Kingdom plans to strike at you in two months. The methods will reach you next week. The prisoners will come in a month's time, accompanied by our troops."
Finishing, Mirena pressed her palms together and nodded again. "Until our next encounter, Blood King."
Cain mirrored the gesture.
"Until our next encounter."
With a forceful thrust into the void, Mirena tore open space. Her form disappeared into the horizon at astonishing velocity, trailing only wavering ripples. As soon as the lady departed, the blood figure dissolved, merging once more into the Ocean of the Blood Sun.
"Creator, I detect peril emanating from that woman," Satan remarked.
"I feel it too," Hades chimed in. "My gut warns that partnering with them spells trouble for us."
The pair of Royal Guards linked minds with Cain via telepathy. In reply, Cain's chuckle resounded in their thoughts.
"Hahaha... Naturally, it won't turn out well for us," Cain stated evenly. "The Kalous Kingdom. The Aztorus Kingdom. True trust eludes us with any of them. We stand isolated."
His statement rang chill, delivered like an irrefutable fact.
"The Aztorus Kingdom intends to wield us against the Kalous Kingdom, heedless of our well-being," Cain went on. "And when our usefulness fades, they'll likely attempt to slay or bind me."
The gazes of the two Royal Guards intensified.
"Why form this pact then?" Satan inquired.
"Because it's essential," Cain answered promptly. "And because, should
I handle my moves wisely, we stand to gain immensely."
A chilling excitement coursed through Cain's essence as a scheme quickly formed in his thoughts. Power formed the cornerstone of that scheme. Losing no time, Cain dispatched Satan and Hades to pursue prey while he devoted himself wholly to advancing his emerging body.
True to Mirena's words, a week later, a colossal Blutlinie materialized over the Ocean of the Blood Sun. Jagged protrusions armored his frame, exuding savage might. Towering in size, his aura unmistakably marked him as an ArchDeity, serving as a herald.
"I am Korin," the Blutlinie proclaimed. "I represent Lady Mirena. These are the pledged techniques."
He produced a dark container. At once, an unseen pull claimed it and pulled it beneath the crimson waves.
"Convey my gratitude to your superior," Cain's voice boomed icily. "Depart now!"
The ArchDeity bowed swiftly and blinked out of sight in a burst of radiance. The Ocean of the Blood Sun had earned a notorious reputation from the myriad fatalities linked to it, and Korin wished to linger not a instant beyond what was required.
The envoy meant nothing to Cain. His focus delved straight into the container.
Inside rested a complete archive.
Cain's inner thrill intensified steadily. The Aztorus Kingdom's grasp of soul matters proved astounding, delving into the highest pinnacles of the Third Realm. It exceeded his anticipations by far.
Shifting to the velocity-focused body enhancement methods, his astonishment swelled further. Certain techniques, mastered to perfection, promised velocities so horrifying that even a peak Third Realm expert would find it hard to track the motions
visually.
"They surely conceal superior methods in their private vaults," Cain murmured. "Maybe even ones to shatter the Third Realm's boundaries."
Avarice and yearning swelled in him, yet Cain refused to let them obscure his clarity. Soon after, his thoughts sharpened, honing in as he reviewed his strategy.
"Pairing this soul wisdom with my abilities, success seems within reach," Cain mused. "Still, I must earn their confidence."
Earning Royal Blutlinie trust proved immensely challenging. They distrusted even their kin. Nevertheless, a way existed always.
After brief reflection, Cain called forth the medallion and projected his awareness within.
"Yes?" Mirena's voice materialized at once. "Do the techniques meet your expectations?"
"They're flawless," Cain answered politely. "I reach out about a separate issue. I possess a notion for our initial confrontation with the Kalous Kingdom's army."
A subtle allure tinged his words.
"I think you'll deem it quite compelling."
A hush ensued.
Then Mirena's voice returned.
"I'm all ears."
If Cain possessed a visage at that instant, it would twist into the grin of a fiend
poised to ensnare prey in his web.
