The Eldest Sister Has Space Chapter 3754: The show was hit

Previously on The Eldest Sister Has Space...
Song Yan and Chi Chi prepare for a visit to Song Yan's adoptive mother, raising concerns for Gu Ruyi as she learns of the family's complex history. They discuss the significance of Song Ruishu, Song Yan's loving adoptive mother, and the sacrifices she made for him. In a poignant moment, Song Yan expresses his desire to honor her memory and ensure she has a rightful place in the family legacy. As they plan their journey to Feng County, the atmosphere is filled with anticipation for the reunion, yet suspense lingers when the morning arrives and the two have not yet emerged for breakfast.

Chichi and Song Yan departed from the Li residence well before the first light of dawn.

The ancestral burial grounds of the Song family were situated on the city's outskirts. Consequently, the duo was the very first to pass through the city gates the moment they swung open.

Despite the early hour, the roads were already bustling with travelers. Following the directions they had gathered previously, the two hurried along their path without delay.

It wasn't long before they reached the Song family’s ancestral tombs and identified the headstone belonging to Song Ruishu.

Staring at the inscription on the grave, Song Yan fell into a brief trance.

The memories of his early childhood had grown faint over the years, yet in this singular moment, they surged back with startling clarity.

Song Yan dropped to his knees and took the brazier from Chichi. As he began to burn the paper money, he whispered, "Mother, I’ve come to visit you. I want to thank you for the way you loved and shielded me back then, even at the cost of your own life. Please don't worry; I am doing well now. As you can see, I have grown up, and my life will only improve from here."

"I am truly sorry it took so many years to finally see you. I am uncertain if the future will grant me the opportunity to return again..."

Chichi set down the paper money, gold ingots, and floral offerings he was carrying. He then retreated to a respectful distance, allowing the two of them a private moment to converse.

Having endured so much in the intervening years, Song Yan found himself speaking at length, a rarity for him.

While Chichi stood guard over the perimeter, he waited patiently, feeling no sense of boredom as time passed.

However, the silence was soon shattered by a harsh, scolding voice echoing from a distance. "Who goes there? What business do you have at my Song family’s ancestral tomb?"

Chichi was momentarily stunned as he watched a figure stumble up the mountainside toward them.

It was trouble; they had been noticed.

Song Yan rose to his feet and glanced at Chichi with an embarrassed expression. "It seems I spent too much time talking."

They had originally intended to pay their respects and depart quickly to avoid detection, but those plans were now ruined.

The man soon reached them, leaning heavily against a tree trunk for support. Drenched in sweat, he glared at them with fury. "You lot, where did you stinky brats come from? Trespassing in our ancestral graveyard and disturbing the spirits of the Song ancestors... I won't let this go easily!"

Chichi attempted a quick explanation. "Uncle, please don't misunderstand. We had no intention of disturbing your ancestors."

"No intention? You're literally burning a fire right here, you—" The man’s tirade cut short as his eyes fell upon the brazier placed directly before Song Ruishu’s resting place.

It became clear that they had come specifically to pay homage to Ruishu.

Stepping forward, Chichi cupped his hands in a respectful greeting. "May I ask if this uncle is a member of the Song family?"

"Indeed, I am the eldest son of the Song family." Boss Song narrowed his eyes, scrutinizing the pair. "Who are you, and why are you here burning paper for my sister?"

It was a stroke of pure coincidence; Boss Song had happened to spend the previous night in a village just outside the city.

In recent years, the fortunes of the Song family’s business had improved, allowing them to establish a presence in the suburban villages.

He had been planning to return to the city, but while on the road, his driver mentioned seeing smoke rising from the direction of the ancestral tombs.

Fearing a potential wildfire, Boss Song had rushed up the mountain in a panic.

He never expected to find two youths offering burnt sacrifices to his deceased sister.

Given their youthful appearance, it was unlikely they had ever personally known her.

Song Yan moved forward to explain, "Uncle Song, I received a great kindness from Miss Song when I was a mere child. Since I happened to be passing through Feng County, I felt compelled to come and pay my respects."

Boss Song remained skeptical. "When you were a child? Just how old were you then? Even if you wished to visit my sister, you should have approached the Song family first so we could escort you. Since when does anyone brazenly enter another family's ancestral grounds to offer incense and burn paper on their own?"

Did these two have no sense of etiquette? He looked at the two teenagers with deep suspicion.
