Ye Chen unleashed a devastating new Soul Martial Technique against Li Chang, shattering his defenses and overwhelming his lightning attack. Although Li Chang desperately sacrificed his True Blue Thunder Pearl to survive the impact and managed to wound Ye Chen, the strike ultimately obliterated his divine soul. As his companions realized Li Chang was dead despite his body remaining intact, they were left paralyzed with terror at Ye Chen's demonic power.

Everyone knew that Ye Chen’s blade carried the aura of both the Destruction Divine Dao and the Soul Dao, but to witness the Soul Dao demonstrating such devastating power was truly unbelievable!

Could he actually extinguish Li Chang’s divine soul in one move?

Furthermore, this feat was accomplished not through a basic attack, but by utilizing a high-level Soul Martial Technique.

Facing the bewildered crowd, Ye Chen offered a chilling smile. “Heh, your Thunder Pearl might have deflected my Destructive Sword, but it cannot guard against a soul-based assault. Did you not foresee this? The trash of the Moon Soul Domain really has nothing else to offer. Zhan You, today both you and this subordinate of yours shall perish here!”

Zhan You and Xu Qi were stunned into silence by his words.

Their expressions darkened instantly.

Foresee it?

How could they possibly have anticipated such a maneuver?

If Li Chang had prioritized his divine soul's defense, he would have been obliterated by the sheer force of Ye Chen’s Destructive Sword Light. Choosing between two evils, he opted to trust the Thunder Pearl to bear the brunt of the physical strike, only to be crushed by the Soul Dao attack instead.

They never imagined Ye Chen’s mastery of the Soul Dao would reach such a terrifying height.

Jin Shuhui and Lan Ying stood trembling, their faces a mix of disbelief and overwhelming joy.

Ye Chen had orchestrated yet another miracle.

Jin Shuhui, in particular, felt an indescribable agitation storming through her soul. From his defeat of the Son of the Demon Emperor in the Divine Kingdom to the slaying of Song Ziqing during the bride selection tournament, this man had repeatedly saved her, showcasing a level of power that defied her wildest expectations.

Truthfully, she had constantly adjusted her assessment of Ye Chen, only to realize that her imagination was still far too limited.

How could a woman fail to be moved by such an extraordinary figure?

Despite being the Xuan Nu of Refining God Peak and maintaining a distance from men, she was, at her core, a woman susceptible to such brilliance.

Just then, a feminine voice resonated within Ye Chen’s mind.

Xuan Han Yu chuckled, “It appears you have mastered everything I taught you along the journey with great efficiency.”

Ye Chen’s eyes sparkled with excitement. While he knew the Soul-devouring Sky, he was not a career soul cultivator. Defeating Li Chang in a single blow using a Soul Martial Technique was a result that even surprised him.

He owed this gain to Mo Wutian, who had arrived seeking vengeance for his son.

Although Ye Chen did not ultimately consume Mo Jiyuan’s soul, that conflict had been far from fruitless.

First, Xuan Han Yu had absorbed immense energy within the Blood Reversal Formation, enabling her to command the unsealed Slaughter Sword and sharpening her grasp of its soul-devouring techniques, which she then passed on to Ye Chen. Secondly, the trials within the Nine Death Realm provided him with invaluable insights.

Just then, a growl echoed through the air.

“Brat, stop reveling in your own arrogance. Soul Dao? I want to see if your strength can withstand my Calamity Soul Method!”

An overwhelming ripple of soul energy erupted across Refining God Peak, accompanied by a wild surge of purple light. A massive soul lion shadow materialized, shaking the very atmosphere.

Qiu Pi had made his move.

“Xu Qi, attack now!” Qiu Pi commanded. “Don’t worry about defense; I will entangle him with the Soul Dao!”

A flash of light revealed a deep purple seal hovering before Qiu Pi. His eyes turned blood-red, saturated with black demonic energy, as if the man himself had morphed into a malevolent spirit.

“Heavenly Calamity Demon Lord, descend!” Qiu Pi bellowed.

A thunderous crash ensued as waves of Yin energy and blight spilled from the seal. The blood-colored light merged into Qiu Pi’s brow, causing the soul lion behind him to twist into a grotesque phantom with an azure face and jagged fangs.

Even Ye Chen felt a tremor of dread as the entity appeared, an icy horror creeping into his consciousness.

Xuan Han Yu spoke solemnly, “A Calamity Ghost? Boy, steel yourself. Cursed creatures like those are not to be trifled with!”

Ye Chen asked, “Fairy Xuan, what exactly is a Calamity Ghost?”

“Among the specters of the Heavens, the Calamity Ghost is powerful, especially against divine souls. They were supposedly driven to extinction by the righteous forces long ago due to their brutal nature and hunger for souls. It is alarming that this old fool managed to summon one. They possess innate abilities that can bypass most defenses; exercise extreme caution!”

Ye Chen nodded grimly. He slashed his black sword toward Qiu Pi while mentally activating the Dust tablet to form a protective defensive stance.

The Calamity Ghost roared, its blood-shot eyes firing two beams of energy that slammed into Ye Chen’s sword strike.

A massive explosion rocked the peak. The sword light, which could easily have shattered True Blue Evil Thunder, was brought to a dead halt by the blood gale. Both forces dissipated into thin air.

It was a stalemate.

Zhan You beamed with excitement, assuming that with Elder Qiu stalling Ye Chen, Xu Qi would find an easy opening.

Bringing the elites of the Zhan Family was clearly the correct choice. Ye Chen might be a monstrous talent, but without a background or strong foundation, his growth was merely an invitation for disaster.

Today, he was destined to die.

Though the ghostly strike was a draw, the phantom itself was now wreathed in blue smoke, howling in agony. While the soul-devouring technique might not easily harm a ghost, the Destruction Divine Dao remained the natural bane of all spectral beings.

Backlash hit Qiu Pi instantly; he vomited blood from his eyes, his face turning deathly pale. Yet, a sinister, ecstatic grin remained on his lips. “Kid, you hurt the Supreme Ghost Master. That deed has a price! Resentment Condensation Curse, trigger!”

A rune flew from the seal, marking the phantom’s brow. The creature’s red eyes locked onto Ye Chen, smoldering with a vendetta.

A connection seemed to manifest between Ye Chen and the Ghost Lord—and suddenly, his world turned to shadow.

Ye Chen’s expression crumbled as he was pulled into a void of boundless darkness.
