Ye Chen, sensing the mysterious woman's severe injuries through Wu Mang's blood, departs the battleground with the Sky-covering Demon Emperor and Jun Mo to locate her despite the surrounding dangers. Following a faint spiritual connection, they uncover a hidden ancient city buried beneath a vast desert and enter a cave at its rear. There, the Sacred Flames Melting Sky Lotus guards the path, but Wu Mang's recognition allows passage, revealing the injured beast and Wei Ying unconscious on a stone platform, faintly calling Ye Chen's name.

"This..."

For a brief instant, Ye Chen froze in place, his eyes fixed on the woman boasting a stunning silhouette, realizing she truly lay unconscious. Yet, under these circumstances, why had she uttered his name?

"Who are you really..."

Countless doubts swirled in Ye Chen's mind regarding this mysterious woman, prompting him to reach out and gently lift her veil.

"Who’s there!"

A faint voice rang out abruptly, causing Ye Chen's face to alter subtly. She had regained consciousness and seized his hand.

"Is it you?"

Wei Ying noticed Ye Chen right away, a flicker of alarm passing through her eyes. She understood that he had nearly revealed her veil just moments before.

The near-exposure of her true identity to Ye Chen startled Wei Ying deeply. She promptly let go of his hand and turned her head away.

Tension filled the air right then. Wei Ying's wounds proved far too grave, and her abrupt awakening pulled at them, forcing an uncontrollable cough that spattered fresh blood across her veil.

"Your injuries are too severe; immediate care is essential."

Unable to hold back, Ye Chen urged her on, swiftly offering his hand where a line of blood emerged: "Drink my blood."

To Ye Chen, nothing surpassed the potency of his own blood when it came to healing pills.

These words made Wei Ying lift her head involuntarily, her lovely eyes shimmering while she stared intently at Ye Chen.

Right then, the Sky-covering Demon Emperor and Jun Mo shared a quick look, cleared their throats softly, and declared, "We’ll stand guard outside; hurry and mend her wounds. Those foes won’t drop the chase, and lingering here won’t work for much longer."

"Alright."

With a nod of assent, Ye Chen watched as the Sky-covering Demon Emperor and Jun Mo departed the scene.

Next, Ye Chen allowed Wei Ying to consume his blood, pulled out a healing pill for her, and extended aid to Wu Mang's injuries as well.

Wu Mang had thrown himself in harm's way to shield Wei Ying from Huo Qingtian’s spear, coming perilously close to death. Luckily, Huo Qingtian hadn't aimed directly at him; Wu Mang merely approached in time for the ferocious Divine Might to hurl him aside, buying only a brief delay. A direct strike would have ended him for sure.

All during this treatment, Wei Ying's luminous gaze stayed locked on Ye Chen, as though etching his features forever into her memory, which in turn sparked an odd sensation within Ye Chen's chest.

The wounds afflicting Wei Ying and Wu Mang ran so deep that not even Ye Chen's blood could bring Wei Ying back to full strength right away. Complete healing demanded more time.

In the midst of this uneasy air, a vast wave of demonic qi rushed over suddenly, bringing the grave-faced Sky-covering Demon Emperor rushing to Ye Chen and Wei Ying.

"Someone’s coming."

The Sky-covering Demon Emperor uttered the warning with icy tone.

"How many?"

Ye Chen's eyes sharpened in an instant, prompting his urgent query.

At present, Wei Ying lay critically hurt and unfit for battle, leaving Ye Chen and Jun Mo outmatched against Heavenly Repairing Realm powerhouses. Should a large group descend, even the Sky-covering Demon Emperor couldn't fend them off solo.

"Quite a number, with a few reaching the fourth-level Supreme Emperor stage. They outclass me," admitted the Sky-covering Demon Emperor with a shake of his head.

Ye Chen's features shifted upon hearing this, while Jun Mo drew near, his forehead creased in concern.

"Breaking out is our best bet. Remaining spells doom for us. This ancient palace holds odd properties; space resists tearing, and destruction proves impossible. Our exit lies solely through the entry point, forcing a clash no matter what."

Jun Mo's survey of the surroundings had yielded this grim assessment, filling him with a touch of despair.

Wei Ying's dire state meant the trio stood little chance against numerous Heavenly Repairing Realm foes, especially with a fourth-level Supreme Emperor among them. Escape looked daunting, bordering on suicidal.

"Then breaking through it is."

Coldness filled Ye Chen's stare as he rose decisively. Whatever the odds, leaving Wei Ying behind was unthinkable. Facing mortal peril, he'd battle on for any shot at life.

"Ye Chen!"

Suddenly, Wei Ying called out, her eyes sharp and cool toward Ye Chen, though a special sentiment flickered within them.

"Don’t attempt a breakthrough. They overpower you. Release me, and I'll lure them off. Use that opening to flee."

Fearing Ye Chen's rejection, Wei Ying pressed on, "Rest easy; I'm their sole target. Spotting me, they'll chase relentlessly, ensuring your safe getaway."

"That's exactly what concerns me."

Shaking his head, Ye Chen replied, "I refuse to leave you behind. Drop that notion. Have faith in me; I'll ensure you escape without harm."

A bitter smile tugged at Wei Ying's lips upon these words. Ye Chen's stubbornness hadn't waned. Simple to claim, but flawless escape? Unlikely in the extreme.

With solemn expressions, the Sky-covering Demon Emperor and Jun Mo eyed the pitch-dark corridor. Disturbances rippled in already, hinting at the external sandstorm near the ancient palace. Evidently, the pursuers had located it and prepared to breach.

"Time's up. Cease the delay; release me to draw them away!"

As danger loomed, urgency gripped Wei Ying, compelling her to rise despite knowing persistence doomed them all. Self-sacrifice offered Ye Chen the best path.

"No!"

Ye Chen clamped down on Wei Ying's wrist with unyielding grip, his eyes firm.

"You recognize this spot leads only to death. My diversion provides the sole opportunity. Don't fret; I won't perish."

Wei Ying persisted in her plea, but her heavy wounds triggered another bloody cough, leaving Ye Chen unconvinced.

"Today, even if it means my end, I won't forsake you."

Determination steeled Ye Chen's gaze while the outer sandstorm quieted anew, signifying the enemies' entry into the ancient palace. Footsteps reverberated down the hallway, clear to his ears.

"Sigh..."

Just then, a tremor shook the Samsara Graveyard inside Ye Chen. Detecting Han Wenxin's return, Ye Chen swiftly stepped into the space.

"Kid, your persistence knows no bounds."

Han Wenxin stroked his unkempt beard, regarding Ye Chen with mild exasperation.

"Senior, this is non-negotiable for me."

Deep determination marked Ye Chen's look at Han Wenxin, underscoring his firm position. No amount of convincing would make him desert Wei Ying.

"I realize convincing you is futile."

Han Wenxin sighed, shaking his head while unleashing his aura—immense, majestic, and brimming with justice.

"I understand that manifesting in the Samsara Graveyard ties us through Karma. The mess is mine to own, and I'll bear it."

Ye Chen's eyebrows knitted at this. Han Wenxin appeared ready to assist, yet doubts lingered about his power and its potential to resolve their peril.

"Fear not; my intervention guarantees their inability to touch you. In exchange, you must promise one condition."

As if reading Ye Chen's mind, Han Wenxin responded without pause.

"What is it?"

Buoyed by Han Wenxin's guarantee, Ye Chen inquired promptly.
