The Corruption Dragon God: Lust System Chapter 912 - I'm not that kind of man, father in law!

"I remember many Celestial Emperors coming to visit this place. They never hid their contempt for these drawings… until they saw the sparkle in my father's eyes when he looked at them. Suddenly, everyone started treating my doodles like refined works of art, hahaha."
Yuehan's gaze lingered on the doodles as she spoke, a fond smile on her lips.
Qingyi laughed along with her.
It was no different on Earth.
All it took was for someone influential to speak highly of a painting—even if it was nothing more than childish scribbles—and the art critics would soon flock around it, praising every stroke as if it were a masterpiece.
Not long after they arrived at the Divine Forge, Yuehan excused herself and headed off to another hall.
Her old room was there, the one she always used whenever she came to visit her father at the forge.
No one had touched the place in years. Even with the arrays protecting it from dust and the wear of time, she still made a point of going in to tidy everything up herself.
Qingyi simply shrugged and followed his father-in-law into the heart of the forge.
The heat hit him the moment he crossed the threshold, thick and dry, carrying the smell of scorched metal and old ash. The flames of the forge threw a restless orange glow across the stone walls.
The Divine Blacksmith's expression stayed calm as he pulled off his robes and tossed them carelessly onto a stone bench.
Beneath them, he wore stiff leather pants and a sleeveless shirt that left his thick arms bare, every inch of them roped with bulging veins and marked with small scars from old burns.
He grabbed the piece he had been working on earlier—a rough blade clamped in a vise—and got straight back to work without hesitation, as if he had never left.
It didn't take long for the heavy clang of hammer blows to echo through the hall once more.
Each strike made the floor tremble slightly beneath Qingyi's feet and sent a spray of sparks leaping off the metal, flaring bright for an instant before dying out in midair.
Qingyi stood a few steps back, and his gaze soon drifted to a dark cloth laid out beside the metal. On it lay a finished symbol. An emblem he recognized immediately.
The Ming Family.
He had heard plenty about them.
They were one of the three great corporate families of the Celestial Heaven. Their power rivaled that of the great sects, and their influence ran deep even within the Celestial Orthodox Martial Alliance.
The Ming Family in particular was known as the largest spacecraft manufacturer in all of the Celestial Heaven.
They built everything from massive cargo ships to battleships, Behemoth star destroyers, and, of course, luxury spacecraft for private transport.
"Are you making this sword for the Ming Family?" Qingyi asked, his eyes still fixed on the emblem.
"Yes. The family's most talented son in the last ten thousand years just reached the peak of the Stellar Sovereign Realm, and they're celebrating," the Divine Blacksmith replied without turning around, plunging the metal back into the forge's flames.
The fire roared up around the blade, and a thin golden smoke curled toward the ceiling.
"Any interest in them? The patriarch's youngest daughter is quite pretty, but… well… not very suitable, hahaha," the old man laughed, his broad shoulders shaking.
The girl was infamous for abandoning the path of the Dao early on, giving herself over to drugs and the pleasures of life.
At two hundred years old, and despite all her talent, she still hadn't made it past the Astral Body Realm.
Qingyi shook his head, a wry smile on his face.
"Don't worry, Father-in-law. I'm not that kind of man, nor am I interested in that kind of woman. I'm only interested in buying a ship from them, and soon."
"Hm…" The Divine Blacksmith nodded and made a quick gesture with his free hand.
A small token slipped out of his spatial ring and landed in his palm, the Ming Family's symbol stamped across its surface.
"They owe me many favors. Just take this token, present it at any of their stores, and choose whatever you want." The old man turned to Qingyi and tossed the token over with a lazy flick of his wrist.
Qingyi snatched it out of the air with ease and stowed it away in his own ring.
"Thank you, Father-in-law," he said sincerely.
He had more than enough money to buy any ship he wanted, but the Divine Blacksmith's name would open doors to the more exclusive models that money alone couldn't buy.
"You'll have to marry Yuehan soon. And Qianyao, too." The old man spoke without taking his eyes off the flames, his voice low but firm.
"I know." Qingyi nodded. "Has Tianjin already told you about the Heavenly Demon's plans?"
"He sent me a voice transmission. The wedding can wait until after the war." The Divine Blacksmith pulled the metal from the fire—now glowing bright red—and began striking it again, the hammer ringing out with every blow.
"No." Qingyi shook his head. "Only when I reach the Celestial Emperor's Realm. You'll understand."
"Huh?" The Divine Blacksmith's hammer froze mid-swing. He turned to Qingyi with a puzzled look, his thick eyebrows drawn together.
He stared at Qingyi for a second, then let out a short laugh.
"All right. When you and Yuehan are ready," he said, and the hammer came down again, his strikes falling in a steady, constant rhythm for a few more moments.
Then he set the blade aside, let the hammer drop with a heavy thud, and wiped the sweat from his forehead with his forearm.
"Do you have any good wine with you? I couldn't get anything from Tianjin's wine cellar this time—that bastard was quick and drank it all before I even got there!
Well... he and I had a drink together while we waited for Yuehan's rescue operation to wrap up, hahahah." The Blacksmith roared with laughter, his deep voice booming off the stone walls.
He had calmed down considerably once word reached him that Qingyi was already on his way to rescue Yuehan.
And well, in the meantime, he'd had quite a few drinks with Long Tianjin. A few thousand liters of wine and liquor in just a few days—no big deal.
Qingyi smiled and waved his hand, and one of the finest wines he had saved slid out of his spatial ring and into his grip.
"I stole this one from the Heavenly Demon," he said, tossing the bottle toward the Divine Blacksmith.
The Divine Blacksmith caught it in one hand, and his eyes lit up the moment he recognized it.
