The Corruption Dragon God: Lust System Chapter 819 - Death (02)

The Dragon Elder unleashed everything.
His power—of which just one percent would be enough to kill thousands of celestial emperors with a single strike—erupted to its absolute limit.
He only needed to reach Qingyi's body. If a single thread of Qi could pass through the barrier of primordial chaos flames, it would be enough to kill him.
Nothing was enough.
Every drop of Qi was devoured the instant it touched the flames of primordial chaos, dissolving like snow on hot coals. And he knew that, soon, those flames would reach his own body.
At that moment, the Dragon Elder realized.
He had to attack.
He could no longer channel Qi to prevent that place from collapsing. If he didn't kill Qingyi now, it would be the end of that place. His own end.
"Bastard! I'm going to kill you!"
The ancient dragon roared, withdrawing all the Qi from his barrier and concentrating it into the spear.
The barrier collapsed like a veil torn apart, and in that very instant, he pointed a single finger.
The spear shot forward, tearing through the flames of primordial chaos in a desperate attack, slicing through the air with a high-pitched whine that made space itself crack.
Qingyi felt excruciating pain explode in his chest.
He felt each of his meridians sear one by one, every energy channel bursting inside him like a red-hot wire snapping.
He felt his heart torn to pieces as the spear, hundreds of meters long, pierced his gigantic draconic body, passing through him.
He knew he would die, and strangely, he felt a peculiar peace about it.
He had a child to carry on his legacy, and his wives were already under the protection of a celestial empress.
For a moment, there was regret. There was pain. There was anger.
He blamed himself for ignoring his instincts; he cursed himself for having trusted the Sect of the Cosmic Void so easily.
Every second of that misplaced trust now seemed to scream inside him.
Fortunately, that pain didn't last long.
Soon, darkness engulfed his mind, the last barriers of Qi protecting his brain collapsing one after another, like candles snuffed out by an icy wind.
It didn't matter how powerful the flames of primordial chaos were. The gap in cultivation between them was simply too great.
The moment the Dragon Elder managed to touch Qingyi's body, it was over.
He was dead.
The last thing he heard was a desperate cry from the system and the distant echo of Ruxue's voice, along with those of each of his wives—a soft whisper that faded into the darkness engulfing him.

In the Celestial Heavens, everyone sensed the exact moment the secret realm collapsed.
A terrifying tremor swept through space, carrying with it an aura so dense and oppressive that even Feiyue, a peak-level Celestial Empress, shuddered to her core.
From within the ruined realm, a sword shot outward like a streak of silver light, slicing through the air toward them.
It took Xue Hua only an instant to recognize that blade. Without hesitation, she leaped into the air, catching it mid-flight.
The moment her delicate fingers closed around the hilt, her heart sank within her chest.
A faint tremor pulsed through the blade, as if the weapon itself were trembling with grief.
"Ruxue… what happened?" she whispered, her voice faltering.
[T-there was an ambush… the secret realm was a trap! Q-Qingyi… he… he…]
Ruxue broke down in tears within the blade, her trembling voice echoing directly in Xue Hua's mind.
The soul cultivator's own eyes wavered before filling with tears as well.
What kind of trap was that?
She slowly raised her eyes, staring at the sect leader. His face was etched with guilt, his gaze unable to meet hers.
"You… what have you done?!" Xue Hua roared, the blade in her hands vibrating along with the rage consuming her.
The sect leader took a shaky step back, but Feiyue acted in that very instant.
Her aura with the power of a Celestial Empress crashed down like an iron chain upon him, pinning him in place before he could draw another breath.
"Aunt Feiyue… we have more important things to worry about right now."
A soft voice echoed beside the Empress, causing her to shudder slightly.
She turned her face toward the sound, and from within the Mind World of the Heaven-Defying Thunder Sword, a figure emerged with calm steps.
"Y-young Miss Qianyao?" Feiyue exclaimed, her eyes wide with astonishment.
The last time she'd seen her, Qianyao had still been a small, adorable child, no more than twelve years old.
Feiyue was one of the few people who knew about Tianjin's plan to take his daughter to the immortal realm in an attempt to cure her illness.
But then, why had he never mentioned that the treatment had been a success? Why had he never said that his daughter was alive and walking right beside Qingyi?
Feiyue studied the young woman in front of her with attention.
Hair as white as fresh snow. Eyes as golden as the rising sun.
In her arms, Qianyao held Rou'er, who slept peacefully, her face serene.
The petite woman's lineage awakening had been a success, but she had yet to awaken from that deep sleep.
"Those who attacked Qingyi come from the same land as Wujin… from the land of the true gods," Qianyao said, her voice shaky. "I believe the sect leader sold both Qingyi and Rou'er to them."
Among all of Qingyi's wives, she was the only one capable of maintaining enough composure to articulate coherent words.
For this reason, it fell to her to speak first.
The leader of the Cosmic Void Sect felt his heart sink as Feiyue's murderous intent washed over him.
With a single gesture, she sealed his cultivation before turning to address the elders of the Cosmic Void Sect.
Most of them still didn't know what the sect leader's plan was.
They were simply following orders from a small group of elders—the sect's top leadership—on what to do.
That was a good thing, since it was much easier to control the Cosmic Void Sect if she didn't have to completely decapitate their leadership.
