The Corruption Dragon God: Lust System Chapter 669 - A worthy battle! (03)

Bai Hu Lie paid no mind to the source of the scream, much like the source of the drink had been ignored.
With his claws, the barrel of potent liquor was opened. He lifted it high above his head, his jaws cracked wide, stained with blood, and allowed the liquid to cascade directly onto his porous tongue.
Qingyi merely offered a smile as he observed the sharp glint in Bai Hu Lie's eyes.
He had certainly not held back on the quality of the liquor, as it was intended for someone he envisioned as a future friend.
'System... what is the expenditure for a pill that can awaken his bloodline?' Qingyi inquired, already fully aware of Bai Hu Lie's underlying objective.
The tiger's desire was for a treasure to ignite his bloodline, but such an item was not to be found here; it resided only in the second phase of the secret realm, a journey that could span months or even years.
Should the opening of the secret realm be unduly delayed, he would be forced to contend in the tournament without his bloodline activated, placing him at a severe disadvantage.
[Name: Eternal-Grade Bloodline Awakening Pill
Description: A medicinal pill possessing the capability to awaken the latent power within eternal-grade bloodlines. There exists a possibility for the bloodline's inherent grade to elevate during the awakening process.
Purity: 97%
Price: 50 g lust points]
Qingyi found the price quite acceptable, considering it was substantially less than the immense value derived from a friendship and familial bond with the formidable tiger.
However, before the pill could even be presented, the individual responsible for the earlier outcry finally made their appearance.
It was Longwei, utterly spent and demonstrably consumed by a furious rage.
"This is utterly preposterous! I commanded you to eliminate Qingyi; that was our accord! I did not sanction you to forge a friendship with him; I demand an immediate explanation, you detestable beast!"
Longwei's overwhelming fury eclipsed his rationality and his inherent cowardice as he bellowed directly into Bai Hu Lie's face.
The colossal tiger offered him absolutely no acknowledgement.
Without the slightest hesitation, it brought its claws down upon Longwei's head, their size so immense that they nearly encompassed it entirely.
In that precise instant, for a fleeting moment, Longwei comprehended the gravity of his missteps.
The claws clamped shut with brutal finality.
His head disintegrated akin to an overinflated balloon, accompanied by a sickening, grotesque pop, as a gruesome spray of brain matter and skull fragments splattered across the tiger's formidable claws.
Xue Hua instinctively closed her eyes, while Rou'er buried her face against Qingyi's chest.
"He had it coming!" Rou'er exclaimed, though she found herself unable to bear the sight of the now headless corpse that had once been Longwei.
The world of cultivation presented a harsh reality for individuals like Qingyi and Bai Hu Lie, both hardened by the relentless nature of combat.
Yet, neither Rou'er nor Xue Hua were accustomed to such grim spectacles.
They were refined young ladies, raised in privilege, who, at most, had only witnessed deaths through formal executions for transgressions within the Sect; never anything as savagely brutal as this.
"What are you standing around for? Now that the esteemed big brother Bai Hu Lie has dispatched that pathetic worm, you are free to be with the cherished big brother Qingyi!" Rou'er declared, turning and drawing Xue Hua towards him.
The beautiful woman, unable to resist, found her body pressing against Qingyi's. A deep flush spread across her face the moment she felt his hand gently settle upon her waist.
He remained silent, simply holding her close.
She gritted her teeth, her blush intensifying.
On one hand, she felt a profound sense of relief that Longwei was deceased and that she was liberated from the impending marriage. On the other hand, she couldn't help but question why she always seemed to find herself in this particular bastard's grasp.
"Go and gather the soul essence of the ice phoenix; your man still has pressing matters to attend to," Qingyi stated with a confident smile, bestowing a tender pat upon Xue Hua's posterior.
"You are not mine... I mean... I am not..." Xue Hua stammered, her voice trailing off as she gently pushed Qingyi away, her face radiating a crimson hue.
Realizing the sheer embarrassment her expression must be conveying, she swiftly turned and departed with quick, trembling steps, making a beeline for the deceased phoenix.
To overcome her own mortification and her inability to resist the magnetic pull of that man's touch, she resolved to dedicate herself to achieving greater strength!
"Wait, big sister Xue Hua, I shall accompany you!" Rou'er exclaimed with palpable excitement, hurrying after her.
Shortly thereafter, only the majestic tiger and the young dragon remained.
Qingyi initiated his transformation reversal. His wings, or rather, his single remaining wing, as one had been savagely torn away by Bai Hu Lie, vanished. His obsidian horns visibly receded in size, and his powerfully beastly features gradually melded away.
Within moments, he appeared as nothing more than a strikingly
handsome human, albeit still adorned with long, black horns.
"Do you intend to remain with us, or will you venture forth on your own path?" Qingyi inquired.
Bai Hu Lie responded with a shake of his great head.
"I shall pursue my own path, brother-in-law. I must find a means to awaken my bloodline; only then can we truly engage in a worthy battle!" the tiger declared with a booming laugh, setting the now-empty barrel down upon the ground.
Qingyi offered a nod and then presented him with a pill.
"This is a bloodline awakening pill, the sole one in my possession and a past gift bestowed upon me by a master alchemist," Qingyi elaborated as Bai Hu Lie meticulously examined the pill.
"The purity is ninety-eight percent, so don't be afraid to use it, but only once you leave the Secret Realm. I recommend doing it as soon as possible."
Upon hearing this, Bai Hu Lie's eyes lit up.
Indeed, this was excellent!
A man worthy of being his brother-in-law and of having his seed within his beautiful sister!
"HAHAHAHA, I truly selected a fine brother-in-law, hahaha! Be aware that I am my father's heir, and he will undoubtedly be delighted to learn of your assistance! I shall present this pill to him as a wedding dowry! I will depart from the secret realm forthwith; my father will personally arrange the marriage with your sect's leader, have no concerns!" Bai Hu Lie bellowed with laughter as he secured the pill.
As for the demise of Longwei, it was of no consequence to him.
Longwei was fully aware of the inherent risks in choosing Bai Hu Lie, and it was inconceivable that anyone would provoke the most formidable stellar sovereign in combat across all the northern celestial heavens solely for his sake.
Before Qingyi could utter a single syllable, the tiger had already departed, leaving him behind with a peculiar and somewhat regretful expression.
That insufferable tiger was truly intent on marrying him off to his sister at all costs, wasn't he?
Well, it would pose a problem if she possessed undesirable traits, but Qingyi was not in the disposition to ponder such possibilities.
In the most unfortunate of circumstances, he could feign ignorance and postpone all matters until he accumulated sufficient strength to simply abscond to the central regions.
Little did he comprehend that both Bai Hu Lie and Rou'er harbored significantly different intentions compared to his own regarding this matter.
