The Conquerors Path Chapter 1002 - 1000-My Land.

Previously on The Conquerors Path...
The protagonist confronts 007 over his confession to Leonardo, revealing manipulations that have foiled key plans and complicated control over the awakening hero. Instructing 007 to return with a fabricated escape tale and guide Leonardo toward the war council, he adapts with a new scheme while dismissing Lily to handle other tasks. He then meets Vixuola, securing her faction's support for his rise amid tense negotiations over alliances that could entangle powerful women in pursuit of greater power.

If everything unfolds smoothly, the ancient vampire will soon come seeking me herself, yet depending on the outcomes, I must keep some strategies hidden. Reflecting on these ideas, I dispatched a message directly to Ralph. He would quickly mobilize the assembled group to erect all the essential frameworks.

With a formidable ally now in the shadows of power, I can truly begin to activate my faction, which is far from straightforward. I must recruit subordinates, construct the faction's hierarchy, claim territories and influence, assemble formidable talents, cultivate loyal adherents, and amass might that rivals established entities.

Essentially, my faction lingers merely as a concept on parchment. Backed by such a seasoned powerhouse, I now possess the authority to manifest it into existence, allowing me to advance, enlist members, form organizations, and extend assurances strategically, though resistance and obstacles will inevitably arise, as usual.

To counter those challenges, I'll receive assistance through reinforcements from DarkNight, personnel who will aid in shaping the overall framework and operations. They will likely perceive this as a ploy by DarkNight to exert control. Many view it as an attempt by DarkNight to seize influence within the war council, and numerous oppose that prospect.

Indeed, when I first gained the privilege to form a faction, it was dismissed as a farce, since no one believed any group would endorse me. Should one have, they intended to dismantle or coerce that supporter, but that strategy fails now with a battle-hardened and mighty faction shielding me.

I pondered that notion, for as soon as I stepped from the elevator, I sensed the scrutiny on my power intensifying once more, the collective gaze bearing down more fiercely than ever. From my arrival here, I've endured monitoring from various quarters, yet now it has escalated sharply. Fissures appear precisely where they must.

Thus, I chose not to resist any of it. Instead, I accepted it calmly, striding ahead, navigating the throng, slicing through the masses. Despite my prestigious role as a faction head, to others, I appear as a frantic, directionless bird destined for swift demise, convinced that no support can shield me from the treacherous politics of the war council.

That might hold true in ordinary circumstances, but currently, fractures have emerged within the war council, the recent humiliation undermining their ironclad dominance, thereby opening doors to chances that previously lay dormant.

I contemplated inwardly. Prior to delivering that bold strike against the war council's prestige, I had meticulously planned various aspects. Numerous forces under the war council's watch chafe at their hubris and dominance. Bound by agreements, they cannot defect from the war council due to binding constraints.

However, that doesn't preclude them from shifting allegiances away from their current confining factions. A fresh, emerging, inexperienced group seems ideal for gaining wider freedom and enhanced leverage. The primary hurdle until now was my appearance as a fragile construct, readily collapsible, deterring any involvement.

Yet now, I resemble a sturdier edifice. Securing this patronage unlocks a torrent of prospects for management, and here, acquiring influence extends beyond mere numbers. Larger factions command greater sway over global trade, authority, internal regulations, bolstered aid, entry to exclusive assets controlled solely by the war council, and additional perks including safeguarding.

There's simply no escaping that reality. As the fledgling faction I represent, membership remains woefully sparse, so expansion inherently demands enlisting influential figures now. In truth, several potent Imperials linger unaffiliated, reluctant to align with existing ones.

Still, how can I sway them when others failed?

I smiled to myself at that query, but armed with my resources and assets, the dynamics have shifted dramatically.

Thus, with hurried strides, I hastened to a linked teleportation hub to depart Vixuola’s domain and reach the core zones, this serving as a more administrative chamber. My vision adjusted to the interior as I nodded to the mage and exited, emerging into an expansive—and truly immense—lobby.

Diverse races bustle about, multiple attendants are stationed, and crowds queue patiently. As this edifice handles official and miscellaneous affairs, I proceeded without delay toward the elite section, segregated in its own enclave. Sturdy sentinels flanked the entrance. I presented my emblem, earning a respectful acknowledgment that granted passage.

Stepping within, a different realm unfolded. Fewer visitors populated it, and the ambient mana pulsed with remarkable potency, invigorating the air. Upon entry, a female attendant, specifically a human woman, approached and inquired.

"Welcome, sir. Might you have a reservation?"

"Yes, it's for a session to finalize my territorial base."

I stated, handing over a particular file adorned with an official emblem, swiftly authenticated.

"This way, please, Lord Rex."

"Appreciate it."

I responded as an elven lady assumed the guide, her expression bearing a soft grin. I trailed her through the expansive space into a corridor, passing various chambers until we arrived at a specific portal. Its aura gleamed forth as she unlatched the adjoining entry for me.

"Please, follow me."

She proceeded through it, with me close behind, soon materializing on an expansive terrain. Instantly upon arrival, my gaze fixed on the rugged gray soil. Scanning around, I observed the sprawling ashen foliage dotting the landscape, and through my perception, I detected traces of potent corrupting essence permeating the area.

As vision stretched, sparse flora dotted the expanse. The ground remained harsh. For considerable distance, it comprised barren flats, isolated save for the gateway linking to this domain.

"Fortune favors you, Lord Rex. This ranks among the largest unclaimed expanses available to war council overseers within their vast holdings. It belongs to you now."

I disregarded the elven woman's cheerful remark. Each commander receives designated territories in the war council domains to develop their organization. It spans broader than united realms. Unique zones tied to potent rifts, and presently, I occupy one such underutilized tract owing to its nearness to a massive fissure—distant yet perilously influential.

"Quite the scenic spot."

I remarked, causing the elven woman's grin to falter slightly. I had anticipated such underhanded tactics from the start, for though I hold the designation, it rings hollow.

"So, you find the territory satisfactory?"

"Absolutely, it's perfect,"

I affirmed.

"Then, kindly endorse here to claim it under your authority. Legal formalities will conclude shortly thereafter."

"Of course."

With that, I accepted the paperwork, inscribed my mark, and infused it with my distinctive mana imprint, sealing the bond. The elven woman's expression brightened further at my compliance, undoubtedly anticipating a handsome incentive for this outcome.

"Er... is there anything further you need, Lord Rex?"

"No, you may depart. I'll linger here awhile."

"Very well."

She uttered prior to fleeing. The site's eerie vibe unsettled even her. After her exit, solitude enveloped me as I grinned. To my mind, any plot would transform into an ideal foundation. Leveraging my wealth and networks, erecting a magnificent haven here poses no challenge. Diligence will turn this into a flourishing bastion.

With that notion, the vision solidified.
