"Then you’ll need to work harder. The Heavenly Punishment will unleash three Heavenly Thunders; you still have two chances," said the Silver Flood Dragon.
Su Changfeng gritted his teeth and ignored the Silver Flood Dragon’s mockery, pouring all his energy into releasing the power within him. He hoped the force of the Heavenly Punishment would be stronger. Even if the chances were slim, he could not give up easily.
However, in the next moment, a voice suddenly rang in his ears, seeming to travel across vast spaces and times, leaving Su Changfeng stunned and incredulous.
"Changfeng."
Su Changfeng’s body stiffened, almost thinking he had hallucinated!
He mechanically turned around and saw Shen Hanxue on the opposite side, his pupils instantly widening.
Han... Han Xue, how could she be here?
"Daddy," came a slightly childish voice.
Su Changfeng’s mind suddenly went blank. He never expected that Shen Hanxue and Ye Nianhai would come to the Tianyuan Continent!
If it were a different time and place, Su Changfeng would have jumped with joy upon hearing this news. But now, before the exhilaration could bloom in his heart, he felt an even thicker despair than before.
This is the Sourceless Forest, and not far ahead is the powerful Silver Flood Dragon. The presence of Shen Hanxue and Ye Nianhai here undoubtedly dragged them into great danger.
Su Changfeng had done so much for these two; how could he accept them being caught in such peril?
With a flash, Su Changfeng appeared next to Shen Hanxue, with many things to say, but at this moment, he seemed to be blocked, unable to utter a word.
"Daddy," Ye Nianhai’s naive voice came again, looking at Su Changfeng with a face full of innocence.
Su Changfeng felt like he was in a dream, only managing to nod blankly.
Then, as Ye Nianhai extended her arms toward Su Changfeng, wanting to be held, Su Changfeng felt utterly at a loss. When he left Tuo Shi for the Tianyuan Continent, Ye Nianhai was just a tiny infant. Now, the little girl had grown and could call him Daddy.
Su Changfeng hadn’t even been on the Tianyuan Continent for a year, yet it seemed there’s some kind of time difference with Earth.
"Are you stupid?" Shen Hanxue prompted, seeing that Su Changfeng was still not moving.
Finally snapping out of it, Su Changfeng hurriedly took Ye Nianhai into his arms.
Even though it was Ye Nianhai’s first time seeing Su Changfeng, she felt no unfamiliarity with him, affectionately kissing his cheek and happily telling Shen Hanxue, "Mom, I finally met Daddy."
Hearing this, Su Changfeng felt a pang in his heart. When he left Earth, he intended to resolve Tuo Shi’s crisis and create a safe environment for his daughter to grow up in, yet he had forgotten that his daughter’s growth also needed her father.
Thinking of this, Su Changfeng suddenly felt that he owed his daughter a lot.
"What kind of expression is that? Aren’t you happy to see us?" Shen Hanxue pouted as she looked at Su Changfeng. Despite having become a mother, in front of Su Changfeng, Shen Hanxue still possessed the delicate, bashful demeanor of a little girl.
Su Changfeng quickly shook his head. He could never let go of just the two of them. Finally seeing them, how could he not be happy in his heart?
But this setting, this place, seemed utterly inappropriate to Su Changfeng. He was already struggling to deal with the Silver Flood Dragon, and with the appearance of Shen Hanxue and Ye Nianhai, it would certainly bring more threats. He didn’t even know if they could escape unscathed.
"Why are you here?" Su Changfeng asked Shen Hanxue.
"Niannian misses you, so I brought her to see you," Shen Hanxue said with a face full of sincerity.
"But the situation now is too dangerous; you must take her and leave immediately. Rest assured, I will come and find you after I’ve taken care of things here," Su Changfeng said anxiously.
Shen Hanxue shook her head with a face of resolve: "I have now remembered many things about Yang Ling, so I understand the Silver Flood Dragon more than you do. I know your plan, but Heavenly Punishment is of no use to it." Su Changfeng also knew Shen Hanxue would eventually recall the memories about Yang Ling because she had inherited all of Yang Ling’s abilities, almost as if she were the new host of Yang Ling reborn. However, her words that Heavenly Punishment was useless puzzled Su Changfeng.
Could it be, the Silver Flood Dragon really can’t be dealt with?
"What do you mean?" Su Changfeng asked.
Shen Hanxue instinctively glanced at the Silver Flood Dragon, whose massive form in Tianyuan Mountain boasted a strength that exceeded the Tianyuan Continent’s knowledge, capable of crushing everyone on this side.
"It’s not a creature of the Tianyuan Continent. With its current strength, destroying this place wouldn’t even require exertion, not even Heavenly Punishment can touch it," Shen Hanxue said.
The Silver Flood Dragon obviously understood their conversation, so upon hearing Shen Hanxue’s words, it responded smugly to Su Changfeng: "Another enlightened being comes. She’s right; in the face of true strength, no one can challenge it. Even if every master from ancient to present times in the Tianyuan Continent were resurrected, they would do nothing to me, let alone a few Heavenly Punishments designed for tribulation crossing, unless people from that world came."
Su Changfeng was filled with despair. He naturally believed Shen Hanxue without question, but he obviously couldn’t accept such an outcome.
With no way to defeat the Silver Flood Dragon, Su Changfeng had no path but death. Yet, more importantly, it wasn’t just him facing death now; even Shen Hanxue and her daughters couldn’t escape.
"Why did you come here knowing its power?" Su Changfeng frowned at Shen Hanxue, not understanding her actions.
Shen Hanxue’s eyes were bright and beautiful; from the moment she entered the Sourceless Forest, she had already calmly accepted death. Her reason for hurrying over was naturally to be with Su Changfeng.
"Whatever happens, we must always be together. Even if it means death, it doesn’t matter," Shen Hanxue said.
"But what about Niannian? She’s still so young," Su Changfeng disagreed. He felt Shen Hanxue, as a mother, couldn’t act so impulsively because Niannian was still too young and had a long life yet to live. She was their cherished daughter; how could Shen Hanxue be willing to do that to her?
"I know the place to return to Earth is in Tianyuan Mountain. I never thought I and Niannian couldn’t return. Even if I don’t die with you now, when you’re gone, it will also destroy the Tianyuan Continent, leading to the same death for me and Niannian," Shen Hanxue said.
Su Changfeng was helpless, not expecting Shen Hanxue to have thought it through so clearly. She must have come, bringing Ye Nianhai, thinking even if it meant death, they wanted a final meeting.
However, in the next second, the Silver Flood Dragon erupted in laughter.
