Su Changfeng revisits old haunts, reminiscing about his past with Han Xue. He is unexpectedly met by Yue Qingshan, who expresses her lingering affection. Despite her devotion, Su Changfeng reaffirms his commitment to Han Xue and departs, heading towards the conflict-ridden Xianwu Mountain.

"Master, I'm heading home now," Su Changfeng responded with a grin.

"Your home is that way! But didn't your family mention that nobody is allowed in or out right now?" the driver inquired, his curiosity piqued.

"Master, my residence is situated on that mountainside. It's perfectly fine, just take me there," Su Changfeng stated.

On that particular mountainside? Isn't that place... isn't that place...

A wave of panic washed over the driver. While he had never personally encountered a prominent figure like Su Changfeng, he knew the young man was of a similar age to the passenger in his car.

If this individual could move freely in and out of the Xianwu Mountain Villa, could this possibly be the legendary Su Changfeng?

For a moment, the driver was paralyzed, nervously swallowing and forgetting his task of shifting gears.

Witnessing the driver's reaction, Su Changfeng felt a touch of amusement. It seemed the driver had deduced his identity, but he wondered why such extreme fear was necessary when he wasn't a monster. This reaction made Su Changfeng slightly uncomfortable.

"Master, can we depart now? I'm eager to get home," Su Changfeng prompted.

"Oh? Yes, yes, immediately," the driver stammered, his hands trembling.

During the journey back to Xianwu Mountain Villa, the driver couldn't help but steal glances at Su Changfeng through the rearview mirror. After all, this was the most influential person in Jiang City, and seeing him in person was a rare opportunity.

Finally, the vehicle halted outside the Immortal Mist Mountain Villa District. As the driver observed the heavily guarded entrance, he finally understood the hushed rumors circulating in the city. Knowing the situation was one thing, but witnessing the tight security firsthand was a different level of astonishment.

It was common knowledge that the residents of Xianwu Mountain were the elite of Jiang City. Even a powerful entity like the Gu Family in the past would never dare to restrict someone's return to their own home.

"What's the fare?" Su Changfeng inquired.

"Please, don't mention it. Providing you with a ride home is an honor in itself," the driver quickly demurred, waving his hands dismissively.

Su Changfeng, naturally, was not lacking in funds. Furthermore, he recognized the driver's honest livelihood. He felt uneasy accepting the service without compensation. However, upon checking his pockets, he discovered he had left home without any money, which left him in an awkward predicament.

"Master, do you have any children?" Su Changfeng suddenly asked.

"I have a son, nearly twenty years old, but he hasn't accomplished much yet," the driver replied, perplexed by the sudden question. However, he answered truthfully, considering it a sign of respect to engage with such an important figure.

"At that age, he's entering the working world. How about this: tell him to visit Weishui Real Estate tomorrow and mention that Su Changfeng recommended him. He should be able to secure a respectable position," Su Changfeng suggested as he exited the car.

The driver was momentarily speechless, staring blankly at Su Changfeng's retreating back.

Weishui Real Estate was Su Changfeng's own company, one of the most prestigious development groups in Jiang City. Many aspired to work there, and the prospect of his son joining such an esteemed organization was beyond his wildest dreams.

Shaking off his shock, the driver swiftly exited the vehicle. Though Su Changfeng was already some distance away, driven by overwhelming emotion, he knelt down on the ground.

"Thank you, President Ye! Thank you so much! Rest assured, I will ensure he works diligently!"

"Changfeng, what's happening? Why did that man suddenly kneel?" Zhu Lie asked from a distance, having noticed the peculiar scene.

"I didn't have any money, and he has a son. I offered to have him work at Weishui Real Estate. Make sure to inform Song Yang about it," Su Changfeng explained.

Zhu Lie understood and chuckled softly. It was no wonder the man was overcome with emotion. Yang Luo's personal recommendation for a job meant his son would undoubtedly find a solid footing in Jiang City. With any talent, he could achieve great things in the future.

"Fate is truly remarkable. Many strive their entire lives without achieving their desires, while some, merely by driving a prominent figure once, receive an opportunity that changes their destiny," Zhu Lie mused with a laugh.

"Zhu Lie, your audacity is growing, are you seeking a lesson?" Su Changfeng retorted, his voice tight with annoyance.

Upon hearing this, Zhu Lie rapidly retreated several steps, maintaining a safe distance from Su Changfeng. He watched him warily, pleading, "Changfeng, there's no need! I was merely joking. Gentlemen settle matters with words, not fists!"

Upon returning home, a group of anxious individuals were gathered outside. Before departing, Su Changfeng had explicitly instructed them not to disturb Shen Hanxue, leaving them worried as no sounds had emerged from within.

Seeing Su Changfeng's return, Shen Zhenhua was the first to stand and approach him, asking, "Changfeng, how is Hanxue doing? Shouldn't you check on her?"

"Dad, she'll be fine. Trust me, there's no issue," Su Changfeng reassured him.

Even though Su Changfeng offered words of comfort, Shen Zhenhua remained troubled. After all, Shen Hanxue was his sole child and his final hope for the future, and he could not bear the thought of losing her.

However, Shen Zhenhua also recognized the depth of Su Changfeng's affection for Hanxue. Since Su Changfeng had declared everything was fine, Shen Zhenhua refrained from saying more, electing to wait in silence.

"Perhaps you should go and see for yourself?" Ji Hong suggested tentatively. Despite her status as Su Changfeng's mother, she knew her place and dared not issue commands, acknowledging she held no authority over him.

"Let's hold on a little longer... just a bit longer," Su Changfeng replied. In reality, he wasn't sure what he was waiting for. While he maintained an outward composure, a deep-seated fear of facing the repercussions of failure inwardly held him back from taking action.

As night descended, a sparse scattering of stars began to adorn the sky.

Zhao Xiaona had prepared a lavish meal, yet it was evident that no one possessed the appetite to eat, with all chopsticks remaining untouched.

Zhao Xiaona wished to encourage others to dine, but she herself lacked any desire for food, making any attempt to persuade them seem futile. Though not related by blood, she cherished Shen Hanxue as if she were her own daughter.

In her heart, the Ye Family Villa felt like her true home, and its inhabitants, her family. Any distress experienced by any of them caused her significant pain.

"Brother Changfeng, please have at least a little something to eat," Chen Qingqing implored.

"You all go ahead and eat first; I don't have an appetite right now," Su Changfeng responded, shaking his head.

No one reached for their chopsticks, their collective thoughts consumed by worry for Shen Hanxue.

Time passed slowly until it was ten o'clock at night.

Zhao Xiaona gently put Ye Nianhai to sleep. The young girl had been remarkably well-behaved, sensing the palpable tension in the air, she had offered no resistance during these difficult days.
