Cheng Hao, overwhelmed and nervous, struggles to interact with the powerful Su Changfeng. Su Changfeng decides they should visit Weishui Real Estate, now managed by Song Yang, who owes his position to Su Changfeng. Upon arrival, an initially dismissive Song Yang quickly becomes respectful upon seeing Su Changfeng. Su Changfeng clarifies he isn't there to make demands but to ensure Song Yang hasn't overstepped his bounds, especially regarding matters connected to Shen Hanxue. Reassured of Song Yang's integrity, Su Changfeng introduces Cheng Hao and warns both men that while they owe their current positions to him, he can also revoke them. He then reveals that another, more significant individual will soon arrive in Jiang City, and they must unconditionally follow this person's decisions.

For many years, Zhu Lie and his companions were not the only ones who remained steadfastly loyal to Su Changfeng; a crucial figure, Chen Hai, also stood by him, his allegiance unwavering from the very beginning.

"Understood, President Ye," Song Yang responded. Although the individual in question lacked actual authority, Song Yang recognized that this person's standing surpassed his own and dared not raise any objections.

"His name is Chen Hai, and he is here to retire," Su Changfeng stated.

Upon hearing this, Song Yang grasped the unique connection between Chen Hai and Su Changfeng; otherwise, why would Su Changfeng show such concern for Chen Hai's retirement?

Song Yang made a mental note, resolving to ensure Chen Hai received excellent care once he arrived.

After issuing these directives, Su Changfeng and Gu Qing’er departed.

As they exited the company premises, Gu Qing’er’s gaze fixed upon Su Changfeng, filled with evident admiration.

Su Changfeng felt a chill run down his spine and inquired, "What’s with that look in your eyes?"

"Brother, you are truly remarkable. A single statement from you has irrevocably altered Cheng Hao’s destiny. The Cheng Family is merely a minor clan, yet from this moment forward, they will officially be recognized within Jiang City’s elite circles," Gu Qing’er remarked with a smile.

"Coming from the daughter of the Gu Family, that sounds surprisingly modest. You possess the ability to achieve such a feat with just a word yourself," Su Changfeng couldn't help but chuckle.

Gu Qing’er pouted, retorting, "Stop teasing me. How can our Gu Family possibly be compared to you? Even my grandfather admits that our Gu Family is insignificant next to your stature."

"Thinking about it, I haven't seen him in quite some time. Let’s pay your family a visit," Su Changfeng suggested.

Gu Qing’er's spirits immediately lifted. Her most cherished moments were when Su Changfeng graced the Gu Family with his presence. Though her romantic feelings for him had long since faded, his visits still brought her immense joy.

News of Su Changfeng's return rapidly disseminated among the prominent families. Upon receiving this intelligence, they swiftly cautioned their children to conduct themselves appropriately and refrain from causing any disturbances.

Indeed, past incidents served as stern warnings, leaving no room for complacency.

The Gu Family residence.

The Gu Family, in its current state, no longer commanded the same influence as in years past, and the constant stream of visitors had dwindled. However, Gu Changsheng found himself considerably more at ease, liberated from the daily burden of numerous responsibilities, allowing him to savor life more fully.

"Father, it appears Qing’er has brought Su Changfeng along," Gu Qingwen declared, rushing into Gu Changsheng’s study upon receiving the update.

Gu Changsheng startled momentarily before quickly proceeding outside to personally extend a welcome to Su Changfeng.

Shortly thereafter, Gu Qing’er arrived with Su Changfeng, and Gu Changsheng’s aged face lit up with a beaming smile.

"Chang Feng, you’ve returned?" Gu Changsheng greeted warmly.

Su Changfeng couldn't help but let out a sigh, playfully chiding Gu Qing’er, "Qing’er, look at this. Some people nowadays seem to have forgotten the meaning of respecting their teacher."

Gu Qing’er readily agreed, chiming in, "Brother, if that’s the case, shall I help you administer a fitting punishment? Perhaps by plucking his beard?"

Gu Changsheng instinctively shielded his beard, lamenting his granddaughter's playful nature, which spared no one, not even her own grandfather, even in solemn moments.

Noticing Gu Qing’er drawing nearer, Gu Changsheng swiftly adopted a tactical approach, pleading, "Master, Esteemed Master, please consider my advanced age. Can you truly bear to inflict such a penalty?"

Su Changfeng burst into laughter. This old scoundrel, adopting such an informal demeanor occasionally, where was the dignity befitting the head of the Gu Family? He hardly seemed like an elder, let alone the Family Head.

"An excellent performance! One must always greet their master properly when encountering them!" Su Changfeng declared with a smile.

Gu Qingwen observed from the sidelines, a touch bewildered yet undeniably amused. While the situation struck him as unconventional, it vividly illustrated the profound depth of their relationship. Su Changfeng would never engage in such lighthearted banter with anyone else.

In the past, Gu Qingwen had held a low opinion of Su Changfeng, harboring doubts about his potential to achieve anything significant in Jiang City. Now, however, he couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for their Gu Family’s continued strong ties with Su Changfeng.

Their relationship encompassed not only mentorship but also a bond akin to siblings. It was precisely this connection that enabled their Gu Family to maintain its current standing.

"Master, you mentioned having some important matters to attend to. What prompted your sudden return?" Gu Changsheng inquired, recalling that Su Changfeng had stated he was traveling far from Jiang City when he departed.

An individual like Gu Changsheng would naturally be unaware that Su Changfeng had journeyed to Tuo Shi; he hadn't even heard of such a place.

"I didn’t anticipate you becoming more befuddled after merely a few days. The sole individual who could compel my return is Han Xue!" Su Changfeng revealed.

Gu Changsheng nodded in immediate understanding and then promptly asked, "Is the Mistress in good health?"

Discussing Shen Hanxue, Su Changfeng's demeanor grew considerably more somber, largely due to his uncertainty regarding potential developments.

His initial intention was to remain by Shen Hanxue's side; however, fearing that his anxiety might inadvertently cause issues, he made the decision to depart from the villa.

"She will absolutely recover!" Su Changfeng declared with conviction.

Observing Su Changfeng's expression, Gu Qing'er swiftly chimed in, "Grandpa, aren't you stating the obvious? How could my sister possibly be in trouble?"

Aware that he should probably avoid that particular topic, Gu Changsheng steered the conversation toward other matters: "Now that you have returned, will you be departing again soon?"

"Yes," Su Changfeng confirmed without the slightest hesitation. "Once Hanxue's condition stabilizes, I must still leave."

The situation in the Outer Domain was already pressing, and aside from Shen Hanxue, it represented the most critical concern. Should he fail to resolve it, both Shen Hanxue and Ye Nianhai would face grave danger. Therefore, venturing into the perilous Outer Domain was unavoidable, as he had no justification to retreat from such a duty.

At moments when circumstances refuse to improve on their own, the only course of action is to confront them directly; indeed, hesitation offers no solution to these mounting problems.

"There's something I've been pondering whether I should mention," Gu Changsheng stated unexpectedly.

"Please, go ahead. I know you quite well," Su Changfeng responded, not holding back his thoughts.

"For reasons I can't quite articulate, I sense you are shouldering an immense burden. Perhaps, in your estimation, this particular matter could jeopardize the safety of Hanxue and Niannian," Gu Changsheng's expression turned serious in an instant.

Su Changfeng felt a surge of emotion; Gu Changsheng was truly a cunning old fox. Despite knowing nothing concrete about Tuo Shi, he had managed to perceive such subtle undercurrents. This was far beyond the capabilities of ordinary individuals.

Su Changfeng was genuinely intrigued as to how the elder had arrived at such a conclusion.

"What makes you say that?" Su Changfeng inquired.

Gu Changsheng chuckled softly, elaborating, "Niannian is still so young; you undoubtedly wouldn't want to miss out on witnessing her grow up. Yet, your resolve on this matter is so unshakeable, it effectively proves how truly critical it is."

Su Changfeng held deep affection for his loved ones, a fact Gu Changsheng understood implicitly. For years he had endured humiliation as a live-in son-in-law within the Shen Family, all for the sake of one person: Shen Hanxue.
