The Bodyguard King’s CEO Wife Chapter 1833: The Mole

"Good intentions leading to bad outcomes isn’t a good thing. The weight of solving a case versus acting on impulse—Officer Zhang, you should know which is heavier," Luo Shiqi remarked casually. She was no ordinary woman; she had control over Yanjing’s Underworld and had expanded her business significantly. Describing her as profoundly scheming was not an overstatement. Although Zhang Ting had a strong sense of justice, in terms of wit and strategy, three of her couldn’t match one Luo Shiqi. So now, even if Zhang Ting was furious, she could only glare in silence.
"Luo, don’t be so arrogant. If it weren’t for solving this case, I would make you pay today," Zhang Ting cursed coldly.
"Alright, little girl, don’t throw a fit. Since you’re here, why don’t you come in and have a seat? I’ve prepared some snacks. You must be hungry by now. If all goes well, he should be out in half an hour," Luo Shiqi smiled faintly.
"No need, I’ll wait for him here and leave immediately. No need for your concern."
"Alright then, but it’s windy outside. Officer Zhang, don’t catch a cold now," Luo Shiqi smiled.
"I’m just fine."
On the other side, Ye Shikai, along with some of Luo Shiqi’s close associates, entered the club. The group exuded an aura of hostility and menace, causing onlookers to steer clear for fear of attracting attention. The club’s security initially intended to intervene, but seeing they were Luo Shiqi’s people, they dared not stop them and let them pass.
"You guys, block the front entrance. No one is allowed to leave this building, no matter who it is," Ye Shikai ordered.
"Yes."
"Yes."
"You four, squat by the windows. If anyone tries to jump out, grab them immediately."
"Yes."
"Yes."
Ye Shikai commanded his men to block all the exits, leading a dozen others to the door of a room.
"Here it is. Break it down," Ye Shikai said calmly. Luo Shiqi’s confidants stepped forward, kicking open the door, and the rest charged in.
"Nobody moves!" These confidants, all Luo Shiqi’s bodyguards, were rigorously trained, each capable of taking on ten men. It didn’t take long to "settle" everyone in the room.
The few women in the room screamed upon witnessing the scene, quickly silenced by having their mouths covered. In truth, there weren’t many inside, and "settling it" required minimal effort.
"No need to be scared, everyone. I’m here for one person, unrelated to you. You may all leave with some money as compensation. Once outside, forget everything from today, or else... well, you know the consequences."
"Yes, yes, yes."
"We won’t breathe a word," the women, frightened to the core, rushed out. Only one man remained in the room.
"Who... who are you? Don’t you know this is a private club? Aren’t you afraid of overplaying your hand?" Despite his bluster, the man was evidently terrified, his loud voice merely self-soothing.
"Can’t you tell?" Ye Shikai pointed to the clothes of Luo Shiqi’s bodyguards, adorned with the Luo Group’s emblem.
"You... you’re with Luo Shiqi. I’m just a businessman; I have no quarrel with her. Why capture me?" the man shouted.
"Well, Mole, you’re quite the figure in the black market. Why so timid now?" Ye Shikai pulled up a chair.
"Have a seat. I’m here to discuss some matters with you. If you’re willing to share, I promise no harm will come to you, and I’ll reward you handsomely."
"You... you’re not Luo Shiqi’s, are you?" The man addressed as "Mole" relaxed, sitting down and slowly regaining composure. He realized Ye Shikai wasn’t Luo Shiqi’s man, for otherwise, they would have acted immediately.
"Who I am doesn’t matter. What matters is if you’re willing to cooperate. You deal in ’black technology’ on the black market, famous even abroad. I’m not a Rash Man; if it can be handled verbally, there’s no need for violence. You’re smart—doing something mutually beneficial should appeal to you."
"So you want to buy something? You should’ve said! No need for all this fuss."
"Wrong. I’m not here to purchase. I’m here for intelligence," Ye Shikai corrected.
"Apologies, I sell goods, not information."
"Don’t be hasty to refuse. Take a look at this first," Ye Shikai handed a document to Mole.
"Ah, you’re here for the capsules. Easy. A million each, no haggling. Buy more, and maybe I’ll lower the price. How about that?"
"Mole, if you weren’t into black tech, you’d sure make a fine businessman," Ye Shikai clapped.
"You’re too kind, too kind. I don’t mean to boast, but there’s probably no one else in Huaxia daring to sell these capsules, let alone with such ample supply and fair pricing. My quality is assured," Mole asserted confidently, aligning with Ye Shikai’s expectations. Mole was indeed the source, and obtaining the customer list from him would lead to capturing the buyers.
"Too bad, I’m not buying capsules."
"Then what do you want?"
"Tell me who bought capsules from you, how many, and when."
"You must be joking. They’re my clients; I’d never betray their information."
"Oh? Hold him down," Ye Shikai gestured. Several bodyguards immediately pinned Mole to the chair.
"Hit him."
"Yes."
"Wait, stop!" Mole pleaded desperately.
"Halt."
"Tell me the information, and not only will I spare you, I’ll give you twenty million as well. How about it?" Ye Shikai dangled the reward enticingly, uninterested in Mole himself, only the intel.
"This isn’t about money," Mole massaged his twisted wrist, slowly standing.
"What do you mean? Is the offer too low?"
"It’s not the money. In my business, there’s a code. I handle various black technologies, with clients ranging from assassins to Armed Personnel. Do you know why I’m still around, and my business thrives?"
"Why?"
"Because I uphold the code. I sell without probing clients’ intentions, nor do I disclose their details. I’m neutral and fair, solely selling goods. Other matters don’t concern me, thus clients trust me to buy safely."
