Heads popped up along the valley sides, pointing guns at them. A black-clad woman descended slowly from above, accompanied by several attendants. Everyone sensed impending danger; a valley was always a perfect spot for an ambush. Moreover, Ji Qian’s group was now too small. With dozens of rifles aimed at them, even if she managed to escape, others would not.

"Demoness, take everyone and retreat with Soul Destroyer," Ji Qian commanded coldly, fearing being overheard. Without caves nearby, forcing through was impossible. It seemed the path behind wasn’t blocked; if they retreated quickly, they might have a chance.
