The Bodyguard King’s CEO Wife Chapter 1110: Warm Breakfast
Yanjing.
Ye Shikai opened his eyes, and his stomach started growling. He had drunk so much last night that he hadn’t even eaten dinner, and as a result, he woke up in the morning so hungry that he was seeing stars. After a simple wash-up, he went downstairs intending to find something to eat.
"Kai, you’re awake. You didn’t eat dinner last night, so I prepared some breakfast for you. Come, have some." Chen Yuxin was dressed in a simple home outfit, looking completely different from yesterday, which shocked Ye Shikai. On the table, the breakfast was laid out with sandwiches, milk, bacon, toast—a whole spread.
"Xin, are we expecting guests?" Ye Shikai sat across from Chen Yuxin, questioning curiously.
"No, it’s just the two of us. About what happened yesterday... Kai, it was my fault. Please forgive me." Chen Yuxin smiled shyly and handed a sandwich to Ye Shikai.
"Kai, I made this for you myself. I know you don’t like egg yolks, so I added egg whites instead." Chen Yuxin smiled gently, and the sandwich was made quite nicely. Ye Shikai wasn’t too picky about food, but the sandwich did show Chen Yuxin’s "sincerity." A relationship always requires care, and Ye Shikai, who had been a bit upset, suddenly found his mood improved.
"Hmm, it’s pretty good." Ye Shikai smiled slightly and took a bite of the sandwich; it was a familiar taste.
"As long as you like it. Try this too."
"Alright, I’ll eat." Ye Shikai’s plate quickly became piled like a "mountain." He was a bit taken aback by how much Chen Yuxin was trying to please him, but because of what happened last night, Ye Shikai didn’t think much of it.
"Kai, we’re going on our honeymoon next week. Haven’t you prepared anything?" Chen Yuxin asked unexpectedly.
"Me? Just some daily necessities, I’ll let my subordinates handle it." Ye Shikai replied nonchalantly. Chen Yuxin wasn’t an ordinary person, so naturally, they would go on their honeymoon with a group of attendants to handle security and other trivial matters.
"Is there anywhere in Europe you want to visit this time?" Chen Yuxin continued to ask. Ye Shikai’s hand holding the dinner knife paused for a moment. Although he wasn’t European, his love life had many ties to this place. The first time he met and got to know Ji Qian was in Europe, and his honeymoon with Su Qingyu had been in Europe. Now, he was going on a honeymoon to Europe with another woman. Originally, he hadn’t wanted to go, but since Chen Yuxin insisted, he had to compromise. He thought of it as a trip to the Netherworld Palace headquarters.
"Not really, it’s just a trip, and I’m going with you, so anywhere is fine."
"Kai, do you not really want to go? I feel like you’re not that interested." Chen Yuxin said softly, her voice carrying a note of helplessness. Her eyes seemed to carry a kind of hope. In the heart of every woman, a honeymoon means more than just a trip, much like a diamond ring. While a honeymoon is fundamentally a trip, just like a diamond is ultimately just a clear stone, once linked with love, the significance changes completely. A honeymoon is a journey of love; that’s a nearly universal thought among women, and Chen Yuxin was no exception. She was looking forward to this honeymoon but hoped even more that Ye Shikai did too.
"Of course not. I’ll be with you wherever you want to go." Ye Shikai finished the sandwich on his plate and changed the subject. "Ji Qian and the others have already found Ghost in East Sea, but he’s lost his memory."
"What? How did that happen?" Chen Yuxin seemed surprised. Ghost was Ye Shikai’s most capable assistant and one of the most important members of the Netherworld Palace, but he had lost his memory. Ye Shikai understood that Chen Yuxin didn’t hold Ghost in high regard, and she probably wasn’t going to pity him over this bout of amnesia.
"Xin, Ghost and I are brothers. When I put it like this, you should understand what I mean." Ye Shikai’s tone changed, becoming colder and more profound.
"Kai, this afternoon, how about I accompany you to East Sea?" As soon as Chen Yuxin finished speaking, Ye Shikai jumped up from his chair in surprise.
"Are you serious?" Ye Shikai was quite shocked. Being caught between his brother and his wife was already uncomfortable for him, but that Chen Yuxin would willingly agree to go to East Sea with him was unexpected.
"Of course, I’ve thought it through. Since he’s helped you a lot and helped my husband, he’s also helped me. Although we’ve had misunderstandings, I don’t mind them." Chen Yuxin smiled faintly.
"Alright, I’ll book the tickets right now." Ye Shikai grinned broadly, resolving the conflict between them. It was a good thing. Ji Qian had mentioned that Ghost needed a special snow lotus from Bai Mountain to regain his memory, something Ye Shikai had never heard of. Rare items are always sought after and scarce, so he decided to ask Wuyan for help.

East Sea Hospital.
"Li, how are you doing now?" Gu Xin brought a freshly brewed duck soup to the lounge to visit Ghost. Although it wasn’t considered a work injury, the hospital director still agreed to let Ghost have a good rest with paid leave. The director’s generosity was largely due to the father-daughter relationship with the Gu family.
"I’m fine, just minor injuries. You didn’t need to make something so nourishing." Ghost couldn’t help but drool when he smelled the rich aroma. Since losing his memory, he rarely encountered such fragrance.
"That’s not right. I’m your girlfriend, so it’s my duty to take care of you, especially since your injury is related to me. Those police officers too—they know you’re injured and have been investigating forever without a proper rest." Gu Xin muttered, pouting as she carefully fed Ghost with a spoon. If one didn’t know, they’d think Ghost was bedridden with a severe illness.
"It’s part of their duty. It’s normal for an investigation to take long, and I also genuinely want to find out those people’s true identities." Ghost shook his head. "Alright, I’m fine. Go back to work."
"Hey, you’re so ungrateful. This is my first time making soup, and you’re dismissing it like this." Gu Xin seemed a bit upset, adorably pouting.
"Alright, my bad." Ghost lifted the soup bowl and drank the duck soup in one go. "How about now, are you satisfied?"
"Hmph, take good care of your injury. Rest for a week, and your wounds should heal." Gu Xin nodded.
"Li."
"What’s up?" Ghost looked up to see Gu Xin’s expression drastically change, as if she had remembered something terrifying.
"Do you think what happened this time was done by those ’friends’ of yours from that day?"
