Mo Chen nearly attacked Qiao Ruoxin when she appeared, but his friends intervened. He was taken to his villa, Jiangfu Number One, and warned not to let Ruoxin escape. Meanwhile, Lu Siheng revealed to Ruoxin that Mo Chen had developed severe psychological issues, including misogyny and insomnia, after she left him two years ago. Distraught, Ruoxin vowed to stay with Mo Chen and help him recover.

Chapter 3: You Want to Come Back to Me?

After Qiao Ruoxin stepped into the villa, Lu Siheng drove away.

Subsequently, a sleek, black Rolls-Royce Phantom drew to a halt outside the opulent villa.

The window descended, revealing Mo Chen's strikingly handsome visage, his gaze fixed with an unreadable expression upon the illuminated windows of the residence.

He retrieved a cigarette, deftly placed it between his lips, and ignited it.

The tip glowed, a fiery beacon against the darkness of the night.

Leaning back against the plush leather of his seat, his focused stare was locked onto the bedroom window, his dark eyes burning with an undeniable possessiveness.

In the two years since Ruoxin's departure, he had taken up smoking, a habit he indulged in only when consumed by frustration or profound confusion.

Recollections of their encounter earlier that evening flashed through his mind; she appeared remarkably unchanged from two years prior, yet possessed an even greater allure, her graceful form and delicate, captivating features undiminished.

After all, Ruoxin had been the undisputed star of the Film Academy.

Abruptly, a snort of self-directed amusement escaped him, finding his own situation utterly ludicrous.

He had come perilously close to ruin, while Qiao Ruoxin seemed to be living a life of comfort – a bitter irony, indeed.

Restless and unable to sleep, he felt compelled to maintain his vigil, a necessary measure for any semblance of peace.

The following day, as the early morning light began to break.

Qiao Ruoxin's eyes fluttered open precisely at seven o'clock. After completing her morning ablutions, she changed into a fresh set of clothes.

As she descended the grand staircase, her gaze landed upon a solitary figure seated upon the plush living room sofa.

A startled jolt coursed through her heart.

Slowing her descent, she approached cautiously, her vision gradually resolving his handsome features – the embodiment of a dashing, albeit slightly decadent, noble heir, his suit jacket discarded carelessly upon the sofa beside him.

Mo Chen appeared to be resting, his eyes closed, one hand with its long, elegantly defined knuckles supporting his forehead. His tie, loosened from its knot, dangled against the crisp whiteness of his shirt, and his sleeves were casually rolled up, revealing a sleek silver wristwatch.

His sculpted face was taut with unspoken emotion, his jawline exuding a smooth, alluring definition.

A subtle aroma of alcohol permeated the air. Had he been drinking?

Furthermore, he was still clad in the attire from the previous night, and a sudden recollection of Lu Siheng's comments regarding his insomnia surfaced in her mind…

Had he remained awake the entire night?

“Did you not sleep last night?”

Her voice caused Mo Chen to abruptly open his dark eyes, his gaze fixing upon her. His voice, when he spoke, was a low murmur, “I’m not tired, I don’t wish to sleep.”

Just as Ruoxin was about to offer a response, the man interjected, his query sharp, “Why did you return?”

“As I told you, I missed you.”

The moment she moved to take a seat beside him, his voice cut through the air, cold and languid, “Stay away from me.”

Qiao Ruoxin closed her eyes for a brief moment before deliberately settling onto the sofa opposite him, her lips curving into a smile, “I’ve returned.”

“Do you intend to come back to me?” A mocking smile played on his lips, his eyes alight with utter indifference.

“Yes.”

Mo Chen scoffed, “Qiao Ruoxin, do you truly believe my affection for you is so boundless that you can simply come and go as you please?”

Within the expansive confines of the living room, the atmosphere grew palpably tense, the man’s formidable presence seemingly pressing down on the entire villa.

She responded with a slight shake of her head, “That is precisely why I am here, to win you back.”

Mo Chen let out a disbelieving laugh, the sound laced with a distinct thread of mockery, “Win me back? What if I have already found another woman?”

“But you haven’t. You were on a date last night, even confessing to that woman that you cannot forget your ex-girlfriend.”

“And you believe everything a man says?”

He reached for another cigarette, placed it between his lips, then lowered his gaze to ignite it with a lighter, exhaling a plume of smoke directly across at her.

Through the haze of smoke, Ruoxin blinked, momentarily taken aback, “You’ve started smoking?”

While she found his smoking posture undeniably attractive and imbued with a dangerous allure, the habit itself was something she disliked intensely…

He offered no reply, merely narrowing his eyes slightly.

With a cigarette dangling from his thin lips, his exquisite features were veiled in an aura of dissolute charm as he leaned back.
